Palmon Bay

I don't write many reviews but was shocked by the review that said this was the worst hotel ever so wanted to post! My husband and I stayed here 10 nights and had a fantastic time. We had a superior room with sea view which had bottled water, coffee machine and mini bar and plenty of space. We had cocktails in the rooftop bar which were lovely. Breakfast had everything you could want with the usual offerings. The pool and beach area was great as there were plenty of sun loungers which made a refreshing change. There are plenty of bars and restaurants right on your door step. All the hotel staff were lovely, especially Angela and they will call taxis for you. We went on trips to Tivat, Kotor, Tito's Villa, boat trip, Savina Winery (amazing views and wine!) and even to see the Gipsy Kings in the amphitheatre. The only negative was nothing to do with the hotel but Tui who picked us up at 3am for an 11am flight due to the border crossing. Avoid a Dubrovnik flight if possible!

Travelled with my husband, arrived early to a warm reception and although room was not available until 2pm, they allowed us to leave in a luggage store in hotel reception. Hotel was sparkling & clean, location was amazing, pool area perfect - and never a struggle for a sunbed! Rooms were a tad snug but perfectly formed and adequate. Only place we have said we would definitely return to - hands down! Fabulous!

Do not listen to the bad reviews. Me & my partner stayed here for 5 nights and it was amazing. The only downside was breakfast, everything else you could not fault. We hired a car and on arriving to the hotel the reception staff were lovely and guided us where to park. There are approx 20 parking bays reserved for Palmon Bay guests on the street, one night we were later back and the reception staff again showed us to a different parking area just above the street parking. Each time the staff were very helpful and it’s very handy having so much parking for the hotel. The rooms are a little smaller than I thought and we didn’t have the most amazing view but we didn’t pay for a sea view so got what we expected. The rooms were still nice, bathroom was lovely and it was cleaned to a high standard every day. I brought my own iron as I had read that the hotel does not provide an iron in the room. The breakfast was very average, not much choice unless you want meats and cakes for breakfast but we managed to have a small amount to eat on a morning. The location, the pool, the beach, the views - all amazing. You step out of the hotel and you are spoilt for choice of restaurants and bars along the beach front. The hotel pool and beach looked out onto the mountains and the bay, towels provided and plenty of sunbeds to choose from. The hotel restaurants had stunning views and reasonably priced drinks / food. The hotel spa was also very nice, 2 saunas, steam room, jacuzzi, a pool and a relaxation area, towels and robes provided. We didn’t stay there for long because we didn’t want to miss out of the sunshine but it’s a nice place to go and relax indoors. The staff were so kind and attentive from reception, to bar staff to the lifeguard handing out the towels. They always had a smile on their face and made us feel very welcome. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and Montenegro to anyone. I never write reviews but this one deserved it.

Absolutely terrible experience — do not book this hotel We booked three rooms for two nights, and honestly, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we have had in a long time. First of all, the beach is absolutely terrible. Do not book this hotel if you are expecting a decent beach or a pleasant seaside experience. The photos online also do not correspond to reality. The rooms are small, outdated and in desperate need of renovation. There was a terrible smell in our room — it literally smelled as if someone had died there. The water was leaking, and even getting drinking water became an issue. They would bring it with an attitude and arguments, even when we were willing to pay for it. The breakfast was tasteless and disappointing. The whole experience gave us the feeling of being in some outdated Soviet-style boarding house rather than a proper hotel. The parking situation was another unpleasant surprise. Apparently, you are judged by the car you drive. We arrived in a rented BMW, and the arrogant and rude security guard decided where we were allowed to park, despite the parking being free. He would not let us park where we wanted and instead directed us to a terrible spot across the road, practically pushing us into the very back of the parking area. Meanwhile, better cars were given the preferred spaces. It was extremely unpleasant and humiliating. There are honestly no advantages to this hotel whatsoever. Old renovation, tiny and uncomfortable rooms, leaking water, terrible service, disappointing breakfast, and an awful beach. If you are used to staying even in a decent 4-star hotel, I would rate this place 3 stars at best — and even that is being extremely generous. I have not experienced anything like this in a very long time. Thankfully, we were only passing through and stayed for two nights. This experience once again reminded me just how important it is to read the reviews carefully before booking a hotel. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel.

We stayed 6 nights at this hotel and spa and it was fantastic. The hotel is modern, clean and well presented throughout. We had a superior double room and it was a very good size for three of us, the bathroom was enormous with a walk in wet room type shower. We dined at the hotel rooftop restaurant twice and the meals we very good indeed. As the spa was free to use for guests, we did and added a few treatments on top as the offerings were great. The beach club was also excellent, again free for guests and we never had a problem finding sun loungers. One thing I would change is flying into Tivat instead of Dubrovnik. Going to the resort wasn’t too bad, coming back was quite slow and it took us about 2.5 hours to get from the resort to the airport.
