Palmon Bay

Lovely hotel, great pool area, friendly staff, good housekeeping and lovely balcony rooms

According to the reception staff, we were staying out of season. This apparently is the reason for a pool and bar being closed. Don't expect the advertised, Palmon boat, as they don't have one????? We were half board. The food in the evening is inedible and bound to cause upset stomachs as every dish is lukewarm. We had no option but to dine out elsewhere. Thankfully I do have something positive to say, the spa was fabulous as were the treatments.

We chose the Palman Bay Hotel because the photos advertised a great outdoor pool, private beach and sunbathing facilities on the roof terrace and around the pool. None of this happened unfortunately because the information is buried in the Jet2 and hotel website that the pool does not open until the 1st May and the private beach is still under construction! In fact you cannot access the beach at all in Herceg Novi, Montenegro because the beach areas are mainly under construction or private beach clubs that were closed. Despite the good weather, there was nowhere to sunbathe in the hotel grounds or on the roof terrace as despite what the photos portray there are no sunbed facilities available unless you go after 1st May! No water in the rooms and no air conditioning in the bedrooms - again despite what the website says mis advertising....it is a cooler system that is centrally controlled by the hotel. More like a heater...which when your bedroom is 26c you really dont need! We had to open the balcony door all night to be able to sleep - but didnt feel that safe as a result. Definitely not a 4 star hotel if 50% of the advertised facilities dont exist!! Asked for water on arrival after a 12hr hot journey - to be told the tap water in your room is drinkable - not a great welcome!

We are currently staying at Palmon Bay Hotel & Spa and unfortunately our experience has been extremely disappointing. We specifically booked this hotel because it advertised air conditioning, both on Jet2 and on the hotel’s own website. However, in reality the system is centrally controlled and only provides heating at this time of year. There is no cooling available at all. Our room has been consistently around 25°C at night, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. When we raised this with the hotel, the only suggestion was to leave the balcony door open. This led to insects coming into the room, and we were forced to keep the curtains closed during the day to manage the heat, which completely defeats the point of having a sea view room. To make matters worse, the hotel also experienced a complete loss of running water during our stay. While we understand this may have been a wider local issue, the hotel had no backup plan and provided no meaningful mitigation. There was no access to handwashing facilities, no immediate provision of hand sanitiser, and no adjustment to services such as breakfast. Guests were expected to carry on as normal without basic hygiene in place, which is unacceptable. The most frustrating part is the lack of solutions. The hotel confirmed they could not even provide a fan, and despite multiple conversations, no practical resolution has been offered. Overall, the hotel is not delivering what it advertises, and the response to both issues has been poor. This has had a significant impact on our comfort and enjoyment of the holiday. I would strongly advise future guests to be cautious, particularly outside peak summer months, as “air conditioning” does not mean cooling. Finally be careful where to sunbath when around the pool check out the photos of the staff jet washing the mud all over our sunbeds!

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Palmon Bay Hotel. The staff were all brilliant. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The food is great - plenty of selection at breakfast. The pool is cold but prefect for warm days and general health benefits. The spa is 5* The hotel's location is convenient for some great restaurants with food at reasonable prices. It's a nice walk to the Old Town. There is an outdoor calisthenics gym less than 5 minutes from the hotel so don't forget your grip chalk! I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so special.
