Palmon Bay

We stayed 6 nights at this hotel and spa and it was fantastic. The hotel is modern, clean and well presented throughout. We had a superior double room and it was a very good size for three of us, the bathroom was enormous with a walk in wet room type shower. We dined at the hotel rooftop restaurant twice and the meals we very good indeed. As the spa was free to use for guests, we did and added a few treatments on top as the offerings were great. The beach club was also excellent, again free for guests and we never had a problem finding sun loungers. One thing I would change is flying into Tivat instead of Dubrovnik. Going to the resort wasn’t too bad, coming back was quite slow and it took us about 2.5 hours to get from the resort to the airport.

We visited Palmon Bay as a family (grandparents, parents and teenage children). We had standard rooms, which were comfortable and clean. My children’s room was slightly smaller than the other two but still acceptable. The pool and beach were amazing and very close to the hotel and each other. Sunbeds were plentiful and towels provided. Staff were on hand to order drinks and food without having to move from your sunbed! The spa was a great way to end the day and the treatments were great and reasonably priced (we had full body massage, facial and reflexology). There was lots of choice for breakfast, from cooked to cereals and fruit as well as pastries. We took advantage of the boat that the hotel own to visit the Blue Cave. This, in my opinion, wasn’t widely advertised in the hotel and I only knew about it as I had read about it prior to our stay. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Overall, this was a wonderful stay and would highly recommend. We will be back!

We've just returned yesterday from 11 nights at Palmon Bay. We also arrived on the day of the power cut and were advised that the emergency generator was running communal areas, however there was no power in the guest bedrooms. We were able to enter our room but as we were on floor -1 and overlooked trees, we had very little natural light so used the torches on our phones! Our room (1004) was very spacious with a super king-size bed and a single temporary bed, along with a large bathroom with large walk-in cubicle with rainfall shower, air-con too. The only downside was the lack of view and natural light and also a very small wardrobe for 3 adults. The hotel and amenities were fantastic, very modern, clean and well positioned on the main pedestrianised walkway. There were no issues with getting sunbeds and shades and plenty for all guests, both around the pool and on the private beach. We were staying half board so had breakfast and evening meal included. Breakfast provided the usual full cooked options, along with pancakes, pastries, cereals, toast, fruits and yoghurts, etc. Evenings in the restaurant were very quiet and it seemed most guests were just B&B. We found the options for dinner quite limited and daughter struggled with no chips for our whole stay and pizza only twice! Fussy kids and teenagers would struggle here! I had previously contacted the hotel to check they could cater for gluten free (I'm coeliac) and was pleased that the GF options were marked clearly. Again there wasn't a huge amount to choose from and I ended up eating pork most nights. However, I didn't go hungry! Some gluten free desserts would've been nice with only melon available. We ate out twice at the Olive rooftop restaurant on floor 5. As guests you get 10% off. Prices were steep, but the food was lovely. A shame that we couldn't get more discount as we weren't eating our evening meal in the main restaurant. This was also our place of choice to have evening drinks. Cocktails were €10 each but the views were lovely and it was a nice chilled atmosphere. On a final note, most staff we dealt with were generally very polite and friendly and some went out of their way to give a positive experience. There were a few however, that were a bit grumpy and I got the impression didn't like British guests! They made no attempt to interact in conversation or even smile!

I have to say it’s difficult to compare with other people’s experiences of this hotel, as their experience is their experience in the positive or negative. However, I was slightly apprehensive about coming to this hotel because of the multiple negative reviews. Our experience proved we need not have worried, our experience was a positive one. We booked a standard room and that’s what we received, they are slightly tight on space but we managed to get our cases out of the way. The balcony was nice but we were overlooking the air con units which were noisy all day and the sun was directly on the balcony in the afternoon, so you couldn’t use it unfortunately. We slept fine with the doors closed and air con on but the doors were not completely sound proof. Good fridge, plenty of cupboard space, a good safe and the bathroom was fine. No kettle and cups which is odd in this day and age and we were in Budva last year and had them in the room so not a Montenegrin thing. We took a travel kettle which served the purpose instead. The breakfast was good, the coffee was good out of the machine and it catered for everyone’s taste, but some mornings food could have been warmer , but that’s not unusual I find . The pool area, platform and beach were great and had plenty of sunbeds anytime of day. The beach was a slight shock compared to elsewhere as there was dog poo just left there and some rubbish from the bins that weren’t emptied. Dogs are allowed in the hotel but I feel that if people are rude enough to not tidy it up then perhaps they shouldn’t be allowed. Someone else told the pool staff and someone did come and take pictures & cleared up the mess to be fair, so hopefully they will address this in future. The location is excellent, the hotel as a whole is clean and nicely presented, we had a wonderful time. We would certainly return.

Wonderful 5 night stay at Palmon Bay Hotel and Spa! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the customer service was really wonderful and everybody was friendly. We were sceptical about booking our holiday here after reading some mixed reviews but can honestly say it was really lovely! The grounds are kept very clean, the spa was absolutely incredible and highly recommend the treatments. They are very reasonably priced too. Our room was spacious, amazing bathroom with huge shower and toiletries. AC and coffee making facilities however no spoon, or milk provided. The AC was a bit temperamental but it worked. Fab balcony which was spotless. The breakfast was decent, no complaints, it had everything you could expect from a 4 star hotel buffet. Cooked options alongside your fruit/yoghurts/cold selection. Set in the large restaurant downstairs with plenty of space to accommodate all guests. Would definitely recommend the Olive rooftop bar and restaurant, the views were immaculate and you really felt like you were at a luxurious high end bar, a real treat. Thank you to Orhan for the best service! You were brilliant as our waiter, so helpful and attentive. The promenade of shops, bars and restaurants is literally at your doorstep, it is never ending with so many places to eat and drink. I was expecting a bit of a walk but its literally at your doorstep. Belve bar was our favourite for a pre-dinner drink, modern with a trendy vibe. The pool is beautiful, views are stunning, out of a postcard. Plenty of sunbeds and space. The beach is right next to the pool with private access for guests. If you are considering booking, please do! Great value for money. We had such a beautiful holiday here, we will certainly be back!
