We chose the hotel after looking at all the options and reviews. We arrived on the early morning flight from Gatwick and got to the hotel around 11am. Surprisingly there were no welcome drinks offered as with many other hotels we’ve stayed in. The receptionist booked us in very efficiently taking all our details and explaining about the facilities at the hotel. Unfortunately, our room was not ready for us but we were informed that it would be ready in 30-60 minutes. We were directed to the lobby bar and told that we could get a drink there and to come back in an hour when our room would be ready, unfortunately after the hour it wasn’t. That was our only frustration for the whole week. Everything else was perfect, our room was gorgeous with a sea view and was made up every day with the complimentary water, teas and coffee’s all replenished. All communal areas were spotlessly clean with beautiful finishes everywhere. Breakfast and Evening meal were fantastic with a wide variety of options. Beware that drinks were only available at breakfast and at evening meals you have to pay. The outdoor pool and surrounding areas were a fantastic place to relax and unwind. Just for info, the pool is cleaned Sunday night and is closed all day Monday. The indoor spa, sauna and relaxing area were an absolute pleasure, with help yourself herbal teas and chilled lemon water. Sunbeds and cabanas were available down a few steps on the sea front, this was a perfect place to chill with a view of the Adriatic. Beautiful sunsets every night. If you walk down the left of the hotel and through the pine trees you can find a perfect place to spot the dolphins. Fantastic restful week in the most perfect surroundings

We could never visit the hotel so my review is not based on the facilities or hotel staff. However, we had a terrible experience dealing with the customer relationship for an issue which was an honest mistake from our side. We booked this hotel, by mistake, on Booking.com while we wanted to select another hotel. We know it was a silly, honest mistake, which we realized within one minute of booking. We contacted Booking.com immediately who were helpful in saying that while this booking was non refundable, they understood our mistake and would contact the hotel directly. However, the response from the hotel was a bit robotic, that they couldn’t refund it. Almost all services (including European airlines) consider this as an honest mistake and give some consideration. I then contacted the hotel directly at least 4-5 times where I was told they would speak to their manager and then call back. I subsequently emailed them also on info@grandhotelbrioni.com. But I never received a response. I find it unacceptable that they could not provide a solution for a mistake that we figured within one minute. Deeply disappointed and I will never consider this hotel as this left such a bad taste.

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in. All the staff were friendly and professional. The outdoor pool is amazing, 50m long but quite narrow with filtered salt water. The hotel was full over the weekend but much quieter from the Sunday. Sunbeds were difficult to find at the weekend. The food was mostly good, different dishes each night. Dinner was served in smaller restaurants when it was quieter but the quality was the same. Decent sized rooms with coffee machines and upmarket toiletries. Comfortable beds with a choice of pillows. Fantastic service by Alenka in the bar and Danijel in the restaurant. I would have given 5 stars but for the few disappointments - the non hotel hairdressing staff were allowed to smoke near outside bar to the swimming pool - the cost of a massage is 179 euros! (I didn't have one) - water was available for free at breakfast but not at dinner. If you wanted water you had to buy a bottle - it would be good if they had a shuttle taking guests to and from Pula town. Those are minor irritations and it wouldn't stop me going back again
