We stayed at the Valamar Meteor in Markarska last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. So when I saw the Tirena I was pretty confident it would be good too. And indeed it was. Check in was quick and we were really happy to be told as we had missed dinner some had been left for us in the restaurant. However when we went there it turned out some other guests had eaten our food 😂. In no time at all 2 fresh plates were made for us with now fuss and lots of apologising ( they didn’t need too it wasn’t the staff’s fault). The room was really nice, modern, spaces and clean. Nice big TV that we could log into Netflix on. We also ordered “cloud” pillows and they were amazing, so soft ! I was initially a bit disappointed with the views as we thought were we getting a park view, whereas we got more of a courtyard, and were opposite a wall, but in the end we quite liked this as we had no other rooms or balconies opposite us, so had privacy. We were half board. Breakfast and Dinner were both really good, with a good selection. Always re stocked and some items cooked for you such as omelettes, or at dinner, food cooked in front of you such as steak/ribs/chicken. There were slightly different themes each night and this kept the variety. Pizza needed a bit more cooking as we’re doughy and soft in the middle. The crumble and vanilla sauce one night was absolutely delicious. It was good to see a couple of the managers always around checking on things. Tip- watch out for the sparrows in the mornings, don’t leave your plate unattended ! They were great to watch though. Hôtel is a bit of an odd set up and the pool is right at the back and somewhat separate from the hotel but this didn’t matter to us. Pool was big and lots of sunbeds, at least the 3rd week of September anyway. Pool was really cold though, colder than the sea ! Water slides were a great addition and good fun. If you have kids this would keep the busy for ages. Found it a bit odd there were no real pool “snacks” as such. Quite a limited menu for the al la carte by the pool that you can only get take away from as you have to be dressed up to sit down and eat. Also very expensive, €19 for chicken nuggets ! There is a little shopping street the in almost attached to the hotel, it contains 3 small shops that do crisps and drinks inc alcohol. A couple of restaurants/pub. We only tried the street food place that does pizza and wraps. We had both and it was delicious and all freshly made. To get into Lapad town, it’s about a 15/20 walk. Easiest was we found was walk down behind the pool and go left through the car park behind the Lacroma hotel next door and cross the road. You can then go left round the bend and then there is a steep ramp with steps leading to the promenade or if you turn right near the royal princes hotel and follow it round there are no steps. Once you get on the promenade it is a really nice walk with a few bars/restaurants on the way to the town. We visited lapad beach, mantras beach (very small) as well as copacabana beach. You get a discount on sunbeda here is staying at Tirena but what they don’t make clear is that this is only on the beds on the left concrete area not the actual beach. But this didn’t bother us. The bus stop is literally at the top of the road outside the hotel and buses were easy to navigate if not a little busy at time. We got an uber into the old town one night which was easy and about €9 I think. All the staff we spoke to were really friendly, helpful and polite. They all say hello inc the cleaning staff. They let us have late checkout of an hour later when was much appreciated. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and I would recommend this hotel.
Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The hotel was immaculate — everything spotless and beautifully maintained. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The food was delicious with a fantastic variety of options to suit every taste. Even though it was a little cooler in October, we loved that there was access to another Valamar indoor pool just 650m up the road, as well as beach clubs nearby — such a lovely surprise! The whole experience was just stunning. I would highly, highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to come back one summer.
We had the best time at this hotel, our stay was for eight nights, Each morning we were welcomed to breakfast by lovely staff that treated us like royalty, The bar young man was do friendly and knoledgable about the culture and the surownding area, the best places to visit, eat and entertainment, The hotel was beautifully decorated and was so family friendly,
Hotel was clean, lively and lovely. Concierge Nevenka baselli was terrific. Went out of her way repeatedly to find exactly the type of activities, restaurants, tours, transport for us. A wealth of personal and professional knowledge of the area. Delightful to work with
The most amazing hotel, so clean and comfortable. Fabulous location, lovely walking trails, close to Lapad (sunsets amazing from here) and short & cheap uber ride into old town. The hotel staff were absolutely AMAZING! Nothing was too much, and the little touches here and there made our stay! We are already planning to come back and we will bring our daughter with us, as the facilities for families and children are fantastic! Thank you ❤️ p.s big shout out to Ivana on reception, she was fantastic!
