Valamar Tirana Hotel

The location was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice. The rooms were of a very high standard. The food was great. It was very good value for the money.

We had a lovely stay at Valamar Tirena. The people were amazing, especially Bruno and Bojan. Lovely pool, great beach, great location to get into the Old Town via a quick bus.

We stayed here as a couple and our 15 year old son in August 2026. The hotel is lovely, very clean and the staff are all so lovely and helpful, and everywhere smells amazing. We had 2 rooms and had asked for them to be located near to each other when booking the holiday and the hotel ensured our rooms were next to each other. The pool area is nice with a swim up bar and water slides but got very busy as we went in main school holidays so lots of children and inflatables. You are allowed to use the sister hotel Lacroma's facilities, and we found this pool to be calmer and quieter and it also has an indoor pool so gives you a nice break out of the sun. Both hotel pools are great, we just preferred the Lacroma hotels pools purely as our son is now 15 years old so he's happy to chill in the pool. The food is great, plenty of choice and we loved the bar upstairs, very nice and chilled. The restaurant is only open until 9pm and we prefer to eat a little later on holiday some days, so we just ate out in nearby Lopud area. We found it cheaper to get around in Ubers than the local bus as Uber offered 25% off your first 10 trips in the country. Dubrovnik is beautiful, gets very busy but it was peak season. We did day trips to the Elaphiti islands, sunset Tuk Tuk tour, ferry to Lokrum island, beach days at Lopud & Cococabana, we would highly recommend all of them. The country is amazing and we will definitely return to explore some more, and would stay at this hotel again. One good tip is buy some beach/surfer type shoes as it is a rocky coastline and makes it more comfortable walking on the beach/in the sea and eliminates the worry about sea urchins. The sea is crystal clear and a wonderful temperature.

Such a great place to take the family. Brilliant hotel, great staff, the kids facilities are unbelievable, and the food is amazing. I'm sure we'll return.

This was our first time visiting Croatia, and we stayed with our two-year-old daughter. This hotel really is a dream come true for families with young children. Maro World is on the hotel grounds and has so much to keep little ones entertained, including an amphitheatre with mini discos and shows, a trampoline park and soft play. Our little girl was never bored! There’s plenty for adults too, including a great swim-up bar, and the food in the restaurant was excellent throughout our stay. The chefs will also happily make pasta to order for children, which was a huge help for us. There’s a lovely promenade just a five-minute walk from the hotel, with plenty of bars and restaurants and some beautiful views. We’d obviously recommend a trip into Dubrovnik too, as the Old Town is absolutely stunning. Our advice would be to go as early as possible, as once the cruise ship passengers arrive it can become incredibly busy. Many of the restaurants also get fully booked, so it’s definitely worth reserving somewhere in advance. Overall, we thought Croatia was beautiful and the hotel was exceptional for families. We’d definitely recommend it, particularly if you’re travelling with young children.
