The hotel has everything that you need for a enjoyable stay for both adults and kids. The location is amazing and the staff as well. They cordially fulfilled all of our request, especially the lovely Ines. We really liked the breakfast and the bar was a nice surprise.

This is the best family holiday we've been on yet and we plan to come back next year! Our children are 7+12. The facilities for children, both younger and older, are fantastic: large sports court for football, basketball etc + free loan of balls, trampoline play area, large indoor aircon room with soft play and other activities, games room with consoles, large outdoor play areas with scooters/tricycles.... There are also 1 or 2 lovely staff looking after the area, keeping it tidy. And a huge bonus is that the kids play areas are right next to the bar so you can have a couple of drinks while keeping an eye on the kids! It's full of families relaxing after a busy day, and never any trouble. The water slides are excellent, and we never had any trouble finding free sunbeds and parasol next to them and the pool in May/June. The kids spent hours on the slides with an occasional dip in the pool. The pine trees growing on the hotel grounds and along/over the beach provide welcome shade from the heat (was around 30deg every day this week). There is a large paved pathway for miles in either direction beside the beach along the coast, perfect for buggies and bicycles with lots of restaurants, ice cream shops and other shops. The rooms were clean and spacious and we loved the adjoining room option. Food was great. A fabulous holiday!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Sunny Makarska and would highly recommend it to families looking for a relaxing, safe, and enjoyable holiday. The main complex is modern, vibrant, clean, and welcoming, with plenty of different areas to sit, relax, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Everything feels well-maintained and thoughtfully designed. The facilities for children are outstanding. Younger children are particularly well catered for, with a soft play area, a modern and inviting playroom filled with toys, games, activities, and an impressive giant peg wall. There are also interactive trampolines, a cute tricycle track, and a tunnel slide. Older children and teenagers are equally well looked after, with a fantastic games room featuring multiple gaming consoles, a wide selection of games, huge bean bags, pool tables, table tennis, and foosball. We travelled with children aged 5 to 14, and every one of them loved the facilities. Even better, everything is included at no extra cost for guests. The pool area is clean, modern, and spacious, with plenty of seating options including loungers, bean bags, and four-poster day beds spread across different levels, so it never felt overcrowded. The dedicated toddler pool is safely enclosed within its own fenced area, and there are three water slides alongside the main swimming pool, which the children absolutely loved. The views from the pool area are stunning, with beautiful mountains on one side and the sea on the other. The food exceeded our expectations. There was a great variety of fresh, well-cooked dishes, with something to suit everyone, including picky eaters. The selection of breads, pastries, and cakes was excellent, and the freshly baked pizzas, which you can watch being made, were particularly popular. Juice and fresh water are included with meals, and the dining area is spacious, clean, and never felt crowded. There is also a lovely outdoor terrace. The staff work incredibly hard to keep everything clean and well stocked. One thing we particularly appreciated was that fresh food continued to be replenished right until the end of service, so guests arriving later still had access to the full selection. The accommodation has been recently refurbished and feels modern, fresh, and clean. Room service is available daily if desired. The beds deserve a special mention—they are exceptionally comfortable and we will genuinely miss sleeping in them! The rooms and bathrooms are on the smaller side, and storage space is somewhat limited, but it is manageable. The fridge was very useful, and the TV can easily be connected to your phone for streaming. One of the biggest highlights of our stay was how safe and relaxed the resort felt. All of the guests we encountered were friendly and respectful. Because the resort is not all-inclusive, it attracts a different atmosphere than some larger resorts. There were no loud crowds drinking all day, and the overall environment felt calm, family-friendly, and welcoming. There are a few things worth noting. The accommodation is built on a hillside, with some steep paths and many stairs, so it may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. There is also no children's club where children can be left in organised care, and there is no formal evening entertainment programme. Instead, families tend to relax on the terrace while music plays and children enjoy the various facilities. We personally loved this setup and felt comfortable allowing our children some independence because of the safe atmosphere throughout the resort. Makarska itself is a beautiful destination. The town feels incredibly safe, the locals are friendly, and there is none of the pressure or hassle sometimes experienced in tourist destinations. The coastline is breathtaking, with crystal-clear water and spectacular scenery. The harbour and old town are charming and well worth the approximately 30-minute walk from the resort. There are also plenty of restaurants offering excellent value meals, many for €10 or less, often accompanied by stunning sea views. Overall, The Sunny Makarska provided everything we wanted from a family holiday: excellent facilities, great food, comfortable accommodation, a safe environment, and a beautiful location. We would not hesitate to return and highly recommend it to other families.

Fantastic stay. Management was wonderful it was my daughters birthday they put a card and sweets in the room for when she came back from a day out and a drink for all that was stopping. We arrived after a delayed flight and they even gave us a lift to the room with the bags. The location is just a small walk down the coast to a small harbour town with lovely views. It's a relaxing holiday and kid friendly, just a really nice place. If you want to visit towns nearby a car is recommended or taxi but overall a fantastic stay and we will look to return in the near future thanks sunny hotel 👍

I’ve never been this disappointed ever in my life before. I can’t imagine someone is selling a place like this for such an expensive price. This is a shame. The Tommy it itself is ok but the bathroom is miserable especially the shower. But I gotta say the beach is really nice👍.
