We have had a very nice weeks stay at the Tui Suneo Supetar, in Brac and would recommend it as a good 3 star hotel.
We were not sure what to expect given the mixed reviews, but being quite relaxed people, we knew we would make the most of whatever we got, especially on an island in Croatia.
Transfer:
Smooth, and relaxing asides from carrying the luggage on and off the ferry. You are left on your own which could pose a challenge for some people. Also I would consider your flight times in relation to the ferry transfer times from split to Brac. We arrived in the evening and just made the 9pm ferry (20 min transfer from split), otherwise we would have had to wait another three hours until 12pm at night which would not have been great. Morning flights seem more preferable with ferry times.
Hotel:
We considered the hotel to be of 3-star standard. It's clean, tidy and the staff are really nice and helpful which made the experience that much better. We felt overall it was just lacking modernisation in some areas, especially the room we stayed in which was the standard double room with balcony. The bathroom was very dated, and there were no photos of this online, which was likely for that reason. The double bed was a king size which was nice, but it wasn't very comfortable, although it isn't the worst we have had and we slept fine all week. Asides from that the rooms were clean and tidied regularly, and had everything we needed, including aircon and a fridge.
Food:
Best part about this hotel was the food and the buffet. They hosted four themed nights to give you good variety and this was all really tasty. It's the usual chaotic buffet experience but nothing was ever empty and it was all really nice food. Great service too. We went in September so could always sit roughly where we wanted, looking out at the sea, but in peak season this would probably be more challenging. Food is served in one large dining area in the main hotel but there is a snack bar near the pool which has pizza and ice cream running throughout the middle of the day. The pizza was very good!
Bar/ drinks:
The most disappointing aspect of our stay was the drinks and the bar. There are two bars one near the lobby / dining area, the other by the pool which is open 10-6pm. The one in the lobby area is very basic, but the one by the pool is much nicer, a large reason why it was disappointing it closed at 6pm. On most days guests were clearly still drinking and relaxing by the pool bar at that time, but they just close it regardless. Would recommend keeping this on flexible opening times, as it's a really nice space and would improve the experience for those without children.
The beer and wine were really good for draft, and in the dining area this was on tap which was nice. Cocktails were arguably the worst we have ever experienced in an all inclusive. Little effort goes into these, it's just syrup, a cheap spirit and cheap mixer. This is an area that really needs improvement for an all inclusive. Also by the pool bar it's just plastic cups which doesn't help. We didn't see anyone buy a cocktail so can't comment if they better, but having worked in bars in the past we could gauge they wouldn't be.
Pool:
Pool was fine, bit cramped at times but managed to get sunbeds at various times throughout the week. Kids generally use the bigger pool as it's a better space for them.
Location:
Lovely location right on the beach front with a short walk into Supetar. Locals really friendly and welcoming. We would recommend spending some time there.
Overall, the people, the location and food made our experience really good. It is definitely a 3-star hotel as advertised, but the staff and food are a 4 star experience in our eyes. If you are after a nice cheap getaway and are not overly fussed by certain aspects of your stay then this hotel is a great place to come. However it feels more geared towards families than couples.
