Excellent food and service and a nice hotel. However all guests are required to pay for at least $28 a day of food and drink in order to use the pool. Same policy for the beach. In the alternate you will be charged $12 a day to use the pool or beach.I have stayed in hotels in 155 countries and am a Hotel Consultant. I have never seen this . There is a sign as you enter the pool that discloses these terms. No where on the web site nor in the reservation and confirmation process is this ever brought up. I paid over $ 300 a night for my Luxery Suite but have to pay extra to use the pool. This is fraud. The hotel advertises its great pool and beach . I have an expectation that these are available for my use without extra charge just as is the bed , the furniture and the bathroom .

This is everything you need to know! We stayed in room 300 at the Coral Estate from Dec 13 to 20, 2025. The resort is very nice and well kept. You definitely need a car unless you plan to stay onsite for your whole visit. There are three restaurants. We ate at all three places. They were good but not great. We were expecting more local seafood but there was a diverse menu which probably is meant to appeal to a wide range of tastes from many countries. We ate at Marfa's twice which is about 12 minutes away by car. Great food and service. We also ate at Landhuis Daniel. The website is very modern and deceiving as the place is very old and a bit run down. The food was good but expensive for no ambiance (its inland and not on the water) and just ok service. The owner sat by himself and didn't acknowledge staff when they brough him food and drinks. It was ok but would probably never return. We also ate at the two restaurants at Lagun beach. Both good. Housekeeping hours were inconsistent but we didn't care about that. We normally only get our room cleaned 2-3 times when staying a week as we don't need a refresh every day. Make sure you have a do not disturb sign for your door. We did not have one and got woken up early a few times. There is no beach. If you want to take long beach strolls this is not the place for you. There is a small sandy area near the water with rocks lining the shoreline. You can enter the water via a staircase in two places. The snorkeling is good but there are real beaches around with better snorkeling. We did not use the pool as we went out to beaches every day - to Lagun, Klein Knip, Playa Porto Marie and Daiibooi. All had chairs and umbrellas for rent and toilets and food truck/restaurants. Lagun and Klein Knip were smaller if you like quieter and the other two were busier and bigger. The only thing we were not impressed with at the Coral Estate is that when we checked in we were told we could not use the chairs and umbrellas at the pool and beach unless we ordered food or drinks. If we didn't we would have to pay a fee. I've been to dozens of resorts and have never had to pay to use the chairs and umbrellas. The first day, we had lunch at the Karacter restaurant near the water. But the second time we didn't order anything after using the chairs and umbrellas and no-one bothered us. I guess a lot of people come for the day for lunch and to swim and snorkel from other hotels. I suggest that Coral Estate give those staying there wristbands and don't make it mandatory to buy anything at the pool or the beach area. We are already spending money to stay there so it's crazy they would charge for chairs/umbrellas or have a minimum amount of $$ to spend. Finally there were several negative reviews we read on this site saying the staff were unfriendly or rude. That is so completely wrong in our experience. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. Maybe some visitors are just too high maintenance and rude themselves. Or maybe the "Luxury" in the name Coral Estate Luxury Resort is misleading as it sets high or unreasonable expectations that have not been met. We booked our whole vacation on points and paid 0$ so perhaps we were more forgiving with this review than usual - but I think the above is reasonable and reflects our experience. Enjoy and safe travels!

7 trips to the island and out third stay at coral estates resort. The last three times we stayed for two weeks. My wife and I are hooked. The location on the island is perfect. You can go either direction and find tons to do either on your own or booking excursions. Ohooooo...that view. Sitting for hours in those zero edge pools looking at that water. so relaxing. A short drive or walk and a great breakfast, lunch or dinner is right there. we have never had a bad experience at any of the 3 places to eat at the resort. We rent villas from the coral estates rental company...I think its called ocean villas. All in $4100.00 will get you 2 weeks in a million-dollar villa with a world class view and a pool. Always been impressed with the villas. Everything isn't always perfect. Your going to buy little odds and ends for the kitchen to get you thru your stay. Salt, condiments....along with your main grocery list. Theres's mosquitos. just enough to be a little bothersome at certain times of the day. Bring bug repellent. In the islands its open air concept. The majority of houses/villas all over the island do NOT have AC in the main living area. Open everything up and enjoy the never ending breeze. Use the pool to stay cool. Enjoy the birds and iguanas while relaxing. Sometimes there's construction going on beside you. Do your research if that's something that bothers you. Other than that the resort can be practically full of people and its quiet. I am always shocked how early people shut off the lights and go to bed here. Its like 9:30 PM and its dark and absolutely quiet. Great starting point to hit all those beaches up that end of the island but don't overlook the pier and bay in front of the resort for snorkeling. I am an avid snorkeler and I'm amazed at how much stuff is right in front of the resort. All kinds of reef fish in abundance and even an occasional eel. Biggest puffer fish I've ever seen was here. Amenities...gift shop...ok. Real estate office is great. They gave us a tour of a few properties in the resort this past visit. Super friendly, accommodating and loaded with information. Everything you need for a great visit is right there at the resort except groceries and that's only a few miles away or 10 miles away is the Centrum and the Mall. You cant beat this place.
