Coral Estate Luxury Resort

⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful Location, But “Luxury” Set My Expectations Much Higher From check-in, I had a slight bad taste in my mouth. The young lady checking me in asked if I wanted to wait for someone to return and take me to my room or if I wanted to go myself. I was a little taken aback, so I asked if the room was easy to find and get to. She said yes, pulled out a map, gave me directions, and off I went. What she failed to mention was that getting to my room involved a flight of 15 stairs, which I then had to lug my suitcase up by myself. 😑 Not exactly the welcome I was expecting from a resort with “Luxury” in its name. Once I opened the door, I honestly felt a little catfished. I booked the VIP section, and I'm still trying to figure out exactly what the VIP perk was supposed to be. The room wasn't a dump by any means, but when you use the word luxury in your name, people naturally expect a certain level of accommodations and service. Then there were the ants. Tiny fire ants were everywhere, and I mean everywhere: the bed, cups, my phone, crawling on me. It became an endless battle throughout my stay and definitely took away from the experience. Food was another disappointment. The best things I had at the resort were the overpriced pizza and the pastries from the Bread Café. I ordered ribs, took one bite because they tasted strange, and left them. I ordered a hamburger another time, took about three bites, and left that too. Maybe it's just my taste buds, but the food at the resort, and honestly much of what I tried on the island, was a no for me. Ironically, my best meal during my seven-day trip was in town: a red snapper that I cleaned straight off the bone. That was delicious. One major piece of advice: RENT A CAR. Whatever you do, rent a car. Taxis are highway robbery at around $65–$89 each way, depending on where you're going. Those rides add up very quickly. The staff wasn't rude, so I don't want to give that impression. I just never really got that warm, welcoming resort vibe from them. I traveled from Curaçao to Bonaire afterward, and I genuinely found myself wishing I had spent my entire vacation in Bonaire instead. Overall, Coral Estate wasn't horrible. It just didn't live up to what I expected based on the way the property presents itself, especially with “Luxury” in the name and having booked the VIP section. My entire stay can pretty much be summed up in one word: Meh. 😒

Our room was full of cockroaches. We left before spending the 1st night. We were promised a refund. We never received anythinf.

Worst experience ever! The bad experience started even before we arrived. We had a healthy issue with our oldest son, and had to delay our arrival in 48h. No problems to contact Avianaca and EuropCar, but Coral State is a different entity, they don’t answer email , they don’t answer the fone , they don’t answer whatsApp. We had to hire someone in the island to go personally there to let them know, otherwise probably they would had gave us a no show ….. So we arrived, the villa number 1 its a beautiful building, but dirty and ful of ants . The internet didn’t work, whhen a called the front desk from villa 1 , they kept saying that I was in villa 03 ! Hilarious, after conversing then that we were in villa 1 , I had to wait a hole afternoon to get it fixed. In the first floor there was no router ! But the worst part is the house kipping service, I think they should decide if they do ou don’t….. Because its exactly what will happen during your stay, they may show or not. If they do, don’t be surprised if they just take out the garbage from one garbage recipient. It was 17:00 we have cooked for the previous 02 days, and spent to whole afternoon in the beach, when reached the villa it was packed with flys and ants. We went to front desk and asked about service the room, they said they would show up in a while ( it was 17:20 !!!!) , finally by 18:20 one lady got in to the room and took the garbage from ONE RECIPIENT!!!! We called front desk, first they said that they have service in de even days of your stay , after someone show up and brought us garbage bags , I MADE it , and put it in front door. The same person who bought the bags, finally apologized, and said that the manager would leep in touch the other morning. He didn’t! In our last day we asked for a late check out, and after all this mess , they gave us ONE hour, and a never heard anything from manager ! The pool cleaning in the villa is the only thing that looks works , the pool was serviced every day and properly! I don’t recommend you to stay at Coral State Luxury Resort !

The experience began once we had a problem with our flight . It was delayed 48hrs and we couldn’t contact the hotel to tell them we would be delayed. We spent more than 24hr trying to talk to them. They don’t answer whatapp , email and the phone doesn’t ring. I had to hire someone to go there and tell them. How bizarre is that. The hotel has a bad service , and the housekeeping is nasty. The bed sheets are dirty. There is lots of ants, the cleaning are very poorly so the ants are everywhere. Me and my kids got bitten in the bed. They dont clean the floor, so the floor starts to get with sand. There was one day that we arrived at 6pm in the room after spending the whole day at the beach , and they hadn’t done our room yet. The towels , the beds and the room were the same. We called reception and they just sad sorry. So besides all the bad cleaning they didn’t clean our room that day. The employers are not polite and they dont make any effort to help you. In sort , it doesn’t worth it. The only thing is that the snorking is nice in front of the hotel, but there is lots of spots to snorkel around the island. SO IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO COME, FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY

I was very pleasantly surprised by this property and its amenities. First - the water. It is amazingly clear/ blue. Like a swimming pool. The roped area is mostly sand bottom but just beyond the rope is surprisingly good snorkeling with a wide array of tropical fish among the coral formations. We found this area one of the best in that area for snorkeling. Check in was easy - especially since we had to prepay the entire stay - so we got keys and a staff member walked us to our room #640. It was nicely appointed with a small kitchenette area with microwave, decent sized bathroom with open shower (nice) and a HUGE balcony area with seating for 4 that overlooked the water, the pool and the restaurants. Great place to sit and listen to the live music. Restaurants were good and not very expensive for a resort - with a nice selection of fresh seafood items as well as steaks, etc. Curated cocktails were delicious (I recommend the Homemade Gin and Tonic). Only take away was the service in Koral restaurant was really lacking. Like really bad. Service in the seaside Karakter restaurant was good. Great views! Pool area is fine - get there early for a good view. Pool is small but nice with an infinity section that looks out at the ocean. Parking is a bit weird in that it is all in the front of the complex and you can only access it through the front entry area. Coffee shop/Cafe is good - with a decent assortment of drinks as well as pastries. I highly recommend the Dragon Fruit cheesecake. Epic! Overall this place was great. We would definitely return.
