⭐ 1/5 — Far Below the Luxury Experience Advertised Unfortunately, our stay at Dreams Curaçao was extremely disappointing. We came here expecting the elevated, luxury experience that was advertised, particularly with butler service. Instead, we experienced one service failure after another and spent far too much of our vacation repeatedly asking for things that should have either been handled automatically or taken care of the first time we asked. From day one, we specifically told our butlers that we would like a bucket of ice kept in our room. Despite making this request at check-in, we had to ask for ice every single time. There was virtually no anticipation of our needs, and at times our butlers didn’t even acknowledge our messages or requests. We were also supposed to receive a bottle of liquor in our room. It never arrived. Our minibar was supposed to be restocked daily—it wasn’t. Nightly turndown service was also supposed to be part of our experience, yet we went multiple nights without receiving it. Housekeeping was another frustration. We were essentially told that if we wanted our room cleaned in the morning, we needed to be out of the room by around 9:00 a.m. That is not what I expect on a luxury vacation where guests should be able to relax and enjoy their mornings without planning their day around whether housekeeping will service the room. Even more disturbing, we discovered a large blood stain on one of the pillows from what appeared to be a previous guest. That is completely unacceptable at any hotel, much less a resort marketing itself as a luxury experience. Clean bedding should be one of the most basic expectations a guest can have. Another evening, arrangements had been made for our butler to escort us to dinner. We arrived at the agreed-upon time and waited. After approximately 15 minutes with no butler and no communication, we finally gave up and figured out where we needed to go ourselves. Being completely blown off after an agreed-upon time is unacceptable, particularly when this is supposed to be an upgraded butler experience. The lack of follow-through continued elsewhere. We requested a golf cart shuttle in advance and waited approximately 25 minutes with no shuttle arriving. Eventually, we gave up and walked. Again, there is no reason to offer or arrange these services if guests are simply going to be left waiting. Our room also had a sink that did not drain properly. We notified staff multiple times, yet the issue was still not properly addressed. Guests should not have to repeatedly report the same maintenance problem during their vacation. Unfortunately, the food at Dreams was also subpar. Drinks were extremely hit or miss—sometimes good and other times lacking quality and consistency. For an all-inclusive resort, food and beverages are a significant part of the experience, so this added another layer of disappointment. The pool area may have been one of the biggest missed opportunities. The infinity pool itself has so much potential and could be an absolutely beautiful centerpiece of the resort. Unfortunately, there was virtually no poolside service or consistent cleanup. Used glasses, plates and even old food would sit around the pool area for hours, if not longer, before being removed. Not only did it make the area look neglected, but it completely took away from the upscale atmosphere the resort is trying to create. An infinity pool at a supposed luxury resort should be a highlight—not an area surrounded by dirty dishes and leftover food. Interestingly, we visited the neighboring Zoëtry Curaçao, which guests can access, and our experience there was noticeably different. The staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming, and we found the food to be significantly better. We actually preferred spending time there. The spa was another disappointment. Personally, I found being asked to pay for our spa services upfront before receiving them to be tacky and completely inconsistent with the luxury experience we expected. Unfortunately, the services themselves didn’t make up for it. Neither the massage nor the facial impressed us, and based on our experience, I would not spend the money on the spa again. What makes all of this so frustrating is that we were not asking for extravagant or unreasonable things. We were asking for basic maintenance, clean bedding, housekeeping, amenities and services that were represented as part of our stay, along with simple follow-through from the staff. Having butler service should mean feeling looked after and having someone anticipate at least some of your needs. Instead, we continually had to remind, request, follow up, wait and sometimes simply go without. At times, messages weren’t even acknowledged. A luxury vacation should not require the guest to manage the staff just to receive the services they were promised. Curaçao itself is absolutely beautiful, which makes this experience even more disappointing. We were incredibly excited about this vacation and expected the resort and upgraded service to make it special. Instead, the lack of communication, cleanliness, attention to detail and consistent follow-through significantly diminished our experience. For the amount of money guests spend to stay here, particularly when booking an upgraded experience with butler service, the service should be dramatically better. Unfortunately, our experience fell far below what was advertised and what we reasonably expected. Based on our stay, we would not recommend Dreams Curaçao, we would not return, and I would absolutely not pay extra for the butler experience or the spa.

Great service, that's why they got a 3 if not they'd get a 1 or 2. Needs more activities and for different age groups. Different people like different things.

As former Dreams Royal guests at a property in the Dominican Republic, we had invested to have a certain level of experience. Do not go expecting a true AI top tier experience. AC problems were pervasive and unresolved. Food is tasteless in all aspects. Staff are unbothered and not very hospitable. Drinks were mediocre at best. The only best part was the beach access and pool vibes and the coco cafe with ice cream.
