Dreams Flora Resort & Spa

This trip was a last minute getaway before school started , we had went Princess Grand in Jamaica earlier in the summer. I wasn't sure what to expect after arriving to Dreams Flora I was disappointed with the smell from the weeds but that's mother nature's call nothing we can do about that. First night we went to Sea Side Grill restaurant where we were greeted by fimiliar faces from Hyatt Ziyva greet to see Julissa again such a pleasant individual and great service. We met Micheal who would continue to serve us for our remainder of our stay . He helped us every morning for breakfast and dinner, he such an amazing individual with care and compassion , we would like to thank Micheal for everything he did for our family. There was a manager there named Macales (hopefully i spelled his name correctly) He also was a great manager never got upset even though there were many reasons to with guests being unreasonable, great job Macales !!! The odd time when Micheal wasn't there Guillan helped our family also very humble and well mannered individual just fantastic!!! At the preferred pool we met Gernando who always made sure we had everything we needed all the time , such an amazing down to earth individual who actually cared about our well being eg. The vendors trying to sell us things we would check with him and he would let us know if it was too much money , very honest man, we'll miss him . While spending our days at the preferred pool Aryelo/ Angelo the bartender made sure we had drinks covered all the time , never a minute of thirst, great guy a true professional, thank you Aryelo !!! Lastly there was Nathanael our butler who was there for our duration of our stay , we weren't sure what expect especially comparing him to our butler at Jamaica but he met our expectations and exceeded them , very personalable, caring and never gets upset over any situation. He's a true professional and would definitely do well in a management role as me myself a manger and can tell how someone handles situations. Thank you Nathanael for everything!!! The quality of food was great, I never had one bad night of food , truly surprised that I couldn't find one thing to complain about .The entertainment was better than most resorts and staff was very friendly. Overall our experience at Dreams Flora will never be forgotten and truly exceeded all of my expectations even against the high end resorts such Princess Grand, Hyatt, Hard Rock Finest and Mirage . I'm not putting any of those resorts down but my point is the staff , food and experience was unexpectedly Great !!! Thank you Dreams Flora for making our vacation so memorable, truly appreciated 🙏.

The food was average overall, although El Patio was definitely the best restaurant we visited. Unfortunately, our experience with housekeeping and room maintenance was very disappointing. During our stay, we became sick, and there was vomit in our room along with a broken glass that had been knocked over. One of us stepped on the glass and was bleeding as a result. We immediately called the front desk and explained the situation, asking someone to come clean the room. No one came. We called at least four more times before someone finally came after our last call, which was almost 24hrs since the incident. By then, we had already used our own room towels to clean up most of the mess. We also requested replacement towels, but those weren’t provided until housekeeping finally arrived. Even then, the room was not cleaned thoroughly. There was still vomit in some areas, small shards of glass remained on the floor, and a dirty throw blanket was placed back on our bed. We still left a tip and an apology note for housekeeping because we understood that the situation itself wasn’t their fault. However, we were understandably disappointed that we had to do much of the cleanup ourselves after repeatedly asking for assistance. The most upsetting part was leaving the resort feeling as though we were somehow responsible for the condition of the room, when we had actually gone out of our way to notify staff and ask for help. Getting sick on vacation was unfortunate enough; having to repeatedly call for assistance and clean up ourselves made the experience even worse. Overall, this was a very disappointing and uncomfortable experience. If you’re considering staying here, I would strongly recommend keeping expectations realistic when it comes to housekeeping and getting timely assistance when something goes wrong.

Fantastic Stay – Preferred Club Was Definitely Worth It! We had a fantastic stay at Dreams Flora Resort & Spa and booked as Preferred Club guests. For us, the Preferred Club upgrade was absolutely worth the extra money. The Preferred breakfast and lunch options were excellent and were one of the highlights of our stay. The Preferred pool and bar area was also lovely, and the service really made our holiday special. A huge mention has to go to Jose Jacob, our butler, who was phenomenal throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and he really helped make our experience memorable. We’d also like to give a special mention to Rayley , juan and Jose at the Preferred pool bar, who were fantastic and looked after us so well. The only real negative for us was the beach. We were aware before travelling that seaweed could potentially be an issue, but unfortunately it was much worse than we had expected and meant that the beach wasn’t really usable during our stay. This was disappointing, particularly when travelling to the Caribbean. That said, the pool areas at the resort were really lovely, so thankfully the beach situation didn’t spoil our holiday. Overall, we had a brilliant stay. The staff were phenomenal, the Preferred Club experience was definitely worthwhile, and we would happily recommend Dreams Flora to others.

Hotel grounds and rooms were very clean and beautiful. Buffet food items always changed daily and were delicious to my liking. Pool bar staff were friendly. There were different nightly shows and the one I saw was very entertaining. The beach unfortunately had a lot of seaweed that prevented me from going in the water.

Overall, our stay was quite a mixed experience. The resort has a beautiful, very green property, a nice waterclub, and some excellent specialty restaurants. We visited the Italian, French, and Asian restaurants, and all three were great. The buffet restaurant was less impressive. One morning, we waited about 15 minutes just to get a table. The juices were also disappointing, they tasted artificial and were mostly ice. One time, we asked for apple juice and were given orange juice instead. Some staff members seemed annoyed even before you asked for anything, so the service sometimes felt more like an inconvenience than genuine hospitality. The cocktails and juices on the beach were good, though, and thankfully, they were not watered down. The entertainment shows were also very good. Unfortunately, there were several issues that really affected our stay. The biggest problem was our room. The floor in our room was swollen from water. We reported it and were offered another equivalent room, but we were told that we had to move out by noon so the room could be prepared for the next guests. This made us question whether the damaged floor was actually going to be repaired. We decided not to waste our vacation time moving, since the floor itself didn't affect our stay too much. However, we later noticed ants in the room, the floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned during our stay, and our room wasn’t cleaned at all the day before we left. The last straw was the recurring, extremely strong sewage, rotten-egg smell. It was so disgusting and overwhelming that we had to leave the room because we felt sick. This happened repeatedly during our stay and is simply not acceptable for a 5-star resort. Another issue was the VR attraction. We were told in the lobby that everything at the resort are free for guests, but later found out that the VR attraction was actually paid. The lobby promoters were another major frustration. We were offered “free gift,” which turned out to be a way to get us into a sales presentation. On our first day, we had to deal with three different promoters around the lobby. It became so uncomfortable that we started avoiding the area. The beach sellers were also extremely persistent offering tours, cigars, bracelets, and all kinds of other things. After the first day, we simply stopped using the beach and stayed by the pool. Unfortunately, the sea was another disappointment: the water was very dark, almost river-like, with an unpleasant smell and a lot of seaweed. We could see that the hotel was trying to clean it, but we still didn't feel comfortable swimming. There was also construction in the water, with poles set up in front of the resort. This affected the view, and the construction noise was not exactly what we wanted to hear on a relaxing vacation. The resort definitely has its positives, but too many issues added up and took away from the overall experience. We came here to relax, not to deal with room problems, avoid sales promoters and beach sellers, or spend time standing in lines. For a 5-star resort, we expected a noticeably higher level of service, cleanliness, and attention to detail. At check-out, the concierge offered us a certificate as an apology, giving us the opportunity to upgrade our room on our next stay. We appreciated the gesture, but unfortunately, the certificate expires in less than a year. More importantly, an upgrade on a future stay cannot undo the first impression or the vacation experience we had this time. Therefore, we will probably choose a different resort next time.
