Dreams Flora Resort & Spa

We had a great time at the Dreams Flora with our family of 6 adults and 5 children. The food was excellent, entertainment was fun and the explorer's club / kids club in particular was a big highlight and hit for our children (aged between 4 - 8 years old). The programming at the Explorer's Club was super impressive: painting, slime making, nail polish, water activities (with 2 - 3 staff members supervising), karaoke, crafting, video games (in air conditioned rooms!), treasure hunt, face painting and more! We enjoyed the buffet every morning, followed by the amazing grilled food on the beach and the specialty restaurants at night. The pools are very nice and the staff was always helpful in meeting our needs. The actual resort lives up to the name of "flora" and the rooms are well maintained. We've just returned and our kids are asking to return to the explorer's club already. A big shoutout to some of the staff who were particularly helpful, our concierge Will, Jonathan at the Seaside Grill and the wonderful Explorer's Club staff Yuleisu, Yonersy, Cindy and Noelia!! Some minor considerations - it is humid in August (normal) and the mosquitos were quite active. Bring bug spray and cool off in the many pools / beach! Some of the staff can be quite enthusiastic to encourage the spa and off-site activities, give them a firm "not interested" if you aren't looking to participate. Other than that, just sit back and relax!

I rarely write reviews but I simply had to for this trip. At the time of writing I am sat on my sun lounger on our last afternoon with a cocktail as I know time will run away with me when I return home. Myself and husband have come here with our two teenaged sons and it’s the best all inclusive we’ve done since children. We used to come to the Dominican before they were born. As it’s a long trip for us we’ve done two weeks and really have had the best time. It’s a little more expensive than average but worth every penny for what’s included. So much so that I don’t think I could do AI again unless at this level. We are hoping to return here next year. The food and drink is outstanding with a vast choice and no hassle of having to pre book or only go to a certain restaurant once or twice. The staff are wonderfully attentive and cannot do enough for you. Tourists are treated brilliantly in and out of the hotel. I recommend upgrading to preferred club for something extra special. This is also necessary if you want two adjoining rooms -a godsend when travelling with teens who want a bit of space but are still close by. You have a butler with preferred club who will assist with anything you need. Ours was Juan Carlos and he organised pizzas on the beach for our sons 13th birthday with his new friends. He also booked the show cooking for us that evening to make sure we got in. Very attentive and professional. Our boys made a big group of lovely friends which really made the trip extra fun for them. The resort is safe and the staff look out for the kids so it meant we didn’t feel the need to helicopter them, and had some couple time as well. We did three amazing trips, two of which were through the hotel (boat/snokelling trips), and one - jungle buggy’s - through viator, as that was arranged by my husband’s American relative. We also liked the beach. Yes the water isn’t turquoise due to seaweed but that’s no fault of the hotel, they work hard to remove it. It’s the same across the island. If you don’t want seaweed, you need to go between November - February which is more their summer season but impossible for us when we have school aged children. Overall a five star experience. I really can’t see how anyone can complain about anything here, and we can’t wait to come back. “Welcome home” they say when you arrive and it really feels like it 😀.

This resort was perfect for our first family vacation. We traveled with three kids under a and it was kid friendly loved that they had activities each day that we were there. The best part is the The pools they were super clean, not as crowded. Also, the dinner breakfast and lunch all restaurants were perfect. The staff are very attentive and also friendly clean rooms.

Just spent 6 nights with my husband and 6.5 year old son- we had such an awesome time. The resort is so beautiful, and very well maintained. The different areas of the pools are so nice. The main pool by the beach is very lively with music and entertainment, but we spent most of our time in the first pool near the entrance. It was quieter and there was lots of shade. We loved the bartenders there - Jorge, Yandys and José. So sweet - and I’m now obsessed with passion fruit margaritas. We also loved the water park - my son worked his way up from the small slides on the smaller splash pad area, to the big slides. It was great that they had a snack bar at the water park. We also ALWAYS found lounge chairs there, which wasn’t the case at the main pool. One thing I didn’t love was that all of the pools were a bit deep (4.5ish feet), too deep for many young kids. Most young kids were hanging out on the stairs/slightly shallower area next to the pool bars, which made the bar areas more crowded than they normally would’ve been. For a very family friendly resort, I’m very surprised that they didn’t have any shallower pools and/or zero entry pools. The beach was fine - small and a fair amount of sargassum at this time of year (though they do SUCH a good job cleaning it up during the day) - we still enjoyed the water and playing in the soft, white sand every day. We always found beach chairs under umbrellas, even in the late morning. I loved that every area of the resort had what you needed - bar/food and bathrooms. Sometimes you have to walk to the other side of the resort to get to something but not here. We loved that the resort was smaller and so easy to walk to any part of it in 5ish minutes. (With the exception of towels - It’s be great if there was somewhere to get pool towels closer to the front of the resort.) The food was pretty good, not great, but we weren’t there just for the food. We loved the variety of foods at the buffet, and the service from Jonathan (breakfast and lunch) and Faviola (dinner) was excellent. We enjoyed Portofino, El Patio and the hibachi place, but the convenience and variety of the buffet was where we spent most of our mealtimes. The resort had a lot of water (not pools) that was simply that - water over what appeared to be a gray tarp. It looked beautiful at night with the lights, but during the day it was kind of weird - like it was missing something. We’d have loved to see some wildlife in the resort. Some fish, turtles, etc. in those empty areas of water would be a nice feature. The room (2nd floor garden view, not preferred) was nice, private, and very quiet. Very spacious and clean. Some people complained of mosquitoes - we specifically requested the 2nd floor rather than ground floor to have fewer mosquitoes, and it definitely helped. I will absolutely book here again if we return to Punta Cana with our son. We stayed at an Iberostar in 2024 and this experience was SO much better - especially the friendly, helpful, hospitable staff. It is a great resort for families with younger children and, even though we didn’t participate in all the activities (explorer’s club, games/activities by the main pool, evening shows), I’m sure they are great for those who choose to participate. We had a wonderful stay at Dreams Flora Resort in Punta Cana. The resort itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and has a lovely atmosphere. We chose to upgrade to the Preferred Club, but unfortunately, we didn’t find it as exclusive as we expected. There didn’t seem to be a consistent system for monitoring Preferred Club access. No special bands were provided, and access was generally based on showing your room key card, which wasn’t always checked. At times, we were simply asked for our room number. For the additional cost, we expected a more noticeable level of exclusivity and service. The food selection was good, with a different theme each night and plenty of options to choose from. Both the kids and adults in our group really enjoyed the waterpark, which was definitely one of the highlights of the resort. Our experience was also made especially positive by the wonderful staff. Our concierge, Will, was absolutely amazing, friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. Our housekeeping attendant, Celia, was also fantastic and did an excellent job throughout our stay. Overall, Dreams Flora is a beautiful resort with a great variety of food, fun activities for both kids and adults, and wonderful staff. With a more consistent system for Preferred Club access, we feel the upgraded experience could be even better.
