Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa

We’ve just returned from a 10-night family holiday from the UK and overall, had a lovely stay The Pros: Beautiful hotel with a gorgeous aesthetic, well-cleaned rooms, stunning beach and lovely pools. The kids’ club was FANTASTIC. good entertainment and great dancers. Special shout-outs to Pamela, our lovely housekeeper, Juan, who kept the drinks flowing on the sunbeds, and Ronnie at the pool bar – the Ronnie Specials were a definite highlight The Cons: The pool area toilets could also do with more frequent cleaning. On a few occasions, there was faeces on the floors and toilets. I appreciate this isn’t the cleaners’ fault, but more regular checks throughout the day, The tables around the sun loungers also weren’t cleaned regularly with sticky surfaces Our biggest disappointment was the service. For the first 3–4 days, we regularly waited for water, coffee and wine, sometimes up to 20 minutes. As drinks aren’t self-service, this became frustrating, especially when other tables seemed to receive much quicker service. turned to ChatGPT for advice, which suggested tipping BEFORE rather than after a meal. it worked a treat, and our service completely changed for the rest of the holiday! Despite a few frustrations, we had a lovely family holiday and made some great memories.

We travelled to Dreams Playa Esmeralda with our 9-month-old baby and chose the Preferred Club option. Adonis was our butler during our stay, and we couldn’t have asked for better service. He was always kind, polite, professional and attentive. He responded quickly to our messages, even when he wasn’t at the resort, and always made sure to let us know what our options were until he could get there. He was very proactive and reliable, which made our stay that much easier, especially when travelling with a baby. We really appreciated having someone we could count on throughout our vacation. We had a great stay overall, and Adonis definitely contributed to making it a positive experience. If you’re staying at Dreams Playa Esmeralda and have the option of having Adonis as your butler, I highly recommend him. His professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail really make a difference. He is truly an asset to the hotel :) Thank you Adonis !

I had a wonderful experience during my one-week stay at this all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with stunning surroundings, a lovely atmosphere, and a great location to relax and enjoy a tropical vacation. What truly stood out the most was the incredible staff. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with a refreshing cold towel and a drink, followed by a tour of the hotel and our room. Throughout the entire week, the staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. Their kindness and hospitality really made the experience special. The food was generally good, although the quality varied depending on the restaurant. Some meals were average, while others were excellent. I particularly enjoyed Himitsu, where the food and the chef’s performance made for a fantastic dining experience, and 1844, which was a great opportunity to discover traditional Dominican cuisine. The drinks were also enjoyable, although their strength sometimes varied depending on the bartender. One area that could use improvement is housekeeping. The room-cleaning request system wasn’t clearly explained upon arrival, and the service was sometimes inconsistent. However, this didn’t significantly affect my overall enjoyment of the resort. One important thing to keep in mind is the distance from the airport. The resort is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes away, so be prepared for a fairly long transfer after your flight. I would recommend arranging transportation in advance to make your arrival easier. Overall, I had a fantastic vacation and really enjoyed my time at this beautiful resort. The welcoming staff, lovely surroundings, and relaxing atmosphere made it a memorable experience. Despite a few minor areas for improvement, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing all-inclusive getaway in the Dominican Republic!

Resort was beautiful and if you are staying in a Preferred room you will have access to Secrets restaurants and entertainment. There was a nice selection of Restaurants and food and service was very good. The Spa was fantastic. The Hydro Therapy was the best deal around and the massage was excellent. Francisco was our attendant in the Preferred club and was Excellente. He made our check-in and checkout easy, made dinner reservations and we talked baseball. The beach is beautiful and very tropical. The preferred pool allows children, so be aware if that’s a concern. Small gnats can be bothersome at times.
