The Reality Behind the Pretty Pictures The resort looks great from the outside, but don't let the exterior fool you. Our room was a complete disaster. It smelled heavily of mold, felt musty, and the humidity was so bad that our clothes and bedsheets constantly felt damp. To make matters worse, you cannot drink or even brush your teeth with the tap water. Despite this being a known health hazard, the resort refused to refill our mini-fridge with basic water or sodas, claiming our room tier didn't qualify for refills. Worse yet, we watched bartenders hand-wash cocktail shakers and cups in that exact same unsafe tap water, and we had to completely skip salads out of fear the lettuce was washed in it. Disgusting Pools & Ruined Beach If you are looking forward to the water, look elsewhere: The Beach: Completely covered in foul-smelling seaweed. The ocean water was a murky brown and entirely unswimmable. The Pools: The main pools were cloudy and disgusting, with hair, scum, and unidentified debris floating past us. We never saw anyone cleaning or testing the water. The Catch: If you want a clean pool and decent service, you are forced to pay extra for the "Sun Club" upgrade. It is incredibly upsetting to have basic hygiene locked behind a paywall. The Towels: The pool towels smelled awful, like they were just thrown into a dryer without being washed first. Subpar Food & Awful Swim-Up Bar The food was completely mediocre, even at the specialty restaurants. The taco place was the only saving grace. The steakhouse is just a buffet line where you stand and wait for meat, the Amazonian place served chicken breasts so tiny they didn't even look like chicken, and the hibachi section is too small for most guests to actually experience. The bars lack consistency. There are no menus, so you get bored ordering the same things. One bar could make a Cosmopolitan, while the next had no idea how. They frequently ran out of basic garnishes like lemons and limes. The swim-up bar was the absolute worst—expect to wait 20 minutes just to catch a bartender's eye. It is also a dangerous free-for-all; it isn’t adult-only, meaning it’s overcrowded with kids. Worse, the resort doesn't use wristbands to designate the age of the guests, so anyone who looks remotely of age can get served. Excursion Scams & Hidden Fees We booked two excursions directly through the resort, and it was a mixed bag filled with hidden costs: Buggy & Cenote Tour: The actual cave tour was fun, but they nickel-and-dime you for everything. They only supply helmets—any other basic gear you actually need costs extra. Prepare to be aggressively hassled by vendors trying to force you to buy photos for $200 or pay for a picture with an iguana. Saona Island Tour: A total waste of money. It was a grueling 12-hour day spent trapped in a rotating cycle of vans, buses, and boats, including a forced pitstop at a gift shop. We only got 90 minutes on the actual island and only did 2 out of the 3 activities we paid for. Final Verdict: Save your money. A nice exterior cannot hide the terrible service, filthy pools, poor food safety, and constant upcharging.
Animátoři jsou naprosto skvělí a úžasní. Taky velice krásní chlapci ❤️ Capucino je naprostý best. Pumba okouzlující.. Velice úžasní animátoři!! Večerní párty tance naprostý luxus. Vtáhnou vás do jiného světa 😘
I did not pay for this stay because the airline put me here after a missed connection, but if I had paid I would have been very disappointed. The room felt tired and outdated, the AC wasn’t working, and the phone was broken. Staff seemed indifferent, as if they just wanted to move you along. Food and cocktails were bland and low quality. Overall, it felt like a very cheap version of an all-inclusive. I can’t believe it is Hyatt branded and sold as a 4* hotel. One of the most frustrating parts of the stay was the constant harassment from vendors. Even inside the hotel, people wearing hotel uniforms repeatedly approached guests to sell timeshares, bracelets, and other items. It was difficult to relax without being interrupted. The harassment continued on the beach, where vendors constantly tried to sell excursions and souvenirs. Instead of feeling like a vacation, it felt like a nonstop sales pitch or a flea market !
We had a great time at sunscape Coco. The animation team (teddy, Skye and Jordan) is great they always have games at the pool and they provide a show every night.
