Araucaria Hotel

We have been coming to this area skiing for several years and have tried different accommodations but this one tops them all! Every member of staff has been so helpful without exception. Louis and Jeremy in the ski room carried our skis upstairs every day and helped ensure our boots fitted properly. The staff in the restaurant, Valentine and Georgie went the extra mile for us and Dimitri was exceptionally helpful on reception. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, it’s is good for families with a play area for younger children and live music is on a few nights each week. Happy hour in the bar is a bonus, especially after a hard days skiing.

I really enjoyed my stay. Staff were great, location was amazing, lovely communal areas. Rooms were a little dated (could do with new bathrooms) and slightly small but very clean, comfortable and I would definitely stay again and recommend. Boot room was small but we had a locker for our stuff and staff were really helpful. Food quality was good but also near lovely restaurants.

Excellent hotel. Staff could not have been friendlier and went out of their way to help. Obviously proud to work there. Special mention to Denis in the restaurant who provided excellent service. Bedroom clean. Not very big (but is the norm in my opinion for an alpine hotel). Overall great experience.

The hotel is in an excellent location on the slopes and you can ski in and out. The ski room workers will even take your skis up and down the stairs as part of the service. Service was great across reception, bar, and restaurant. If you have an après drink they bring you little snacks too, free of charge. There’s also fresh popcorn every day and a little arcade of games. The hotel is clean and modern but still has a warm atmosphere. Our room had enough space but the toilet and bathroom are on the smaller side, as you’d expect in a ski hotel or chalet. The bed was comfortable and we had a large balcony. We loved the food. Breakfast was similar day to day but there was plenty of choice. There was also a pancake maker and a fresh Nutella-style hazelnut spread maker, which we loved. Dinner had a different theme each night so we didn’t get bored of it. There was plenty of choice and it was all great quality. The spa was lovely, with an indoor pool, sauna, steam, and relaxation room. There’s a separate area for kids too. We didn’t get a treatment as the cost was too much, albeit standard for the French Alps. On our last morning we had to leave before breakfast was open, but they made us a packed breakfast for the journey. We would definitely return here and recommend it to others.

A wonderful hotel in a great location with friendly and very helpful staff. The rooms were lovely, the food was delicious and the spa was beautiful. We were holidaying with our disabled son and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely stay at Araucaria again!
