Higalik Hotel

Whilst we enjoyed an excellent week of skiing at Les Menuires, and our room, location and pool at the Higalik Hotel were good, with regret we were disappointed with the Telemark Restaurant. The limited half board menu, which was the same all week, meant there was very little choice, particularly for vegetarians and children. It was the same vegetarian and fish options, and the same four options on the children’s menu, all week. As the week went on, the starter options were reduced to just two, which were repeats. So my wife and our children had the same meal several times during the week. As a vegetarian my wife was reduced to having two starters as an evening meal. This is not what we were expecting and no attempt at alternatives was offered. The service in the Telemark Restaurant was also very slow, particularly on the 4th of April and the 9th of April. On the 9th we took our table at 6.45pm, and at 9pm we were still waiting for our desert to be served. We queried the delay with the waiter, and instead of apologising he was abrupt and rude. We bought our complaint to the attention of Higalik reception, and to Crystal by email, on the morning of the 10th, which should have been enough time to arrange an alternative vegetarian option for the evening of the 10th. Sadly this was not the case. In short, with regards our evening meals at the Telemark Restaurant, we did not get what we paid for. On our return we emailed the Higalik Hotel with our complaint. As I type three weeks later we have not had a response. In conclusion we should not have booked the Higalik Hotel on a half board basis. The hotel's other restaurant / deli 'Mauricette in the Sky' was closed during the week of our visit.

We visited this hotel. The stay was good, but they took money from my account without my authorisation, it has taken 2 months to get it back and they are refusing to pay my bank charges incurred because of this transaction they didn't have my authorisation for. I would avoid this hotel.

We came here after having to leave another local hotel whose accommodation was unsafe and had no fire safety. They sorted us out with a room very quickly and Victoria on reception was brilliant. The rooms are lovely and clean and actually pretty spacious, the breakfast nice (if a bit chaotic!). The views from the rooms, though, are absolutely stunning. Great for your Instagram photos! And you are really close to all the amenities of Les Menuires. Highly recommended!

Feels like the hotel and restaurant are run by different companies. The hotel itself is perfect with friendly welcoming staff, great Spa/pool and quality breakfast. The evening restaurant is unwelcoming, staff miserable and service poor.

This hotel has great potential. Location is incredible for ski in ski out. Customer service was an all time low. Near non existent. No snacks available after 9pm at the bar. Room clean is a change of towels on request and bedding change on request no hoovering the entire week. The evening restaurant was shocking - I’d recommend the little restaurant left out of the hotel and first restaurant on the right where the service and food was at a higher standard and you feel welcome unlike the evening restaurant at the hotel where the attitude of the staff is the highest form of rudeness I’ve ever experienced. We had saved the restaurant for our last night - a group of four of us. I wish we hadn’t. They got the drinks order wrong followed by the ravioli arriving with a half poached egg added which wasn’t advertised. All 4 of us ordered the ravioli but only two of us could eat it. Then one of our main meals was missing. We had to point this out as the staff was clueless and rude. Other tables continued to be served whilst our group sat waiting due the fourth dish to be delivered which eventually did but by this time no one had an appetite. Please don’t waste your money or put up with lower than standard services with premium prices. Pop up the road to the pizza restaurant where you can even purchase take out if you are unable to reserve a table. The only plus I can say was the quality and quantity variety of breakfast x
