Nice room, big and clean, staff is always welcome and ready to help you. Elisa and Deborah helped me to organise my trips around bologna, so thankful for them. The pool is very nice and big!

High quality in all aspects, really a great stay in Living Place Hotel
Our kids absolutely loved the large swimming pool! The breakfast was fresh and delicious, making every morning a great start to the day. The location is also very convenient, with a shopping mall and a gas station nearby. We stayed here last year as well, and we were happy to come back again this year. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
We have been on a bit of an adventure across Italy and this is Day 4 of our trip. We had a flight at 6 am to catch from terminal C in Catania. Just to warn you there is only 1 place to eat in departures and they only sell cakes and crisps. This is a very small terminal. One thing to bear in mind is the active volcano. At 7:45 am there was ash cloud which caused all flights in and out to be cancelled until 2pm the following day. We were not impacted by that. However, our Wizz Air flight was diverted to Verona instead of Bologna. I did feel sorry for the staff on this flight where individual passengers were shouting at the member of staff. The passengers even asked if they could get off the flight which the staff said they could. So the staff had to individually tick them off the manifest. Once the passengers got off the plane the plane was fixed and we flew to Bologna. Collecting suitcases was very quick and getting a taxi was very straightforward. We were 35 euros to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel at 11:30 am. Our room wasn’t ready but that is fair enough as we were very early for check in. We had lunch in the restaurant and the lady that was serving us on the 5th July was really good. I had the 14 ingredient salad which was nice and she recommended a very good wine. My husband had the ceaser salad. My husband had work to do so he was able to find a table and chair near the bar which was quiet. I was able to sunbathe and use the pool. The lady who also checked us in on the 5th was also very good. There is a water station in the hallway. The safe in the room requires you to swipe a credit or debit card. Which we’ve never seen before. We never used the safe as you don’t know if someone has tampered with it. In room 228 which we were staying in the bathroom needs updated. There is mould on the the walls. On a Sunday evening the restaurant is closed and only offers pizza. We tried the hotel next door which is a NH hotel and it was also closed so we walked across the road to Burger King. It’s a breakfast buffet with cold and hot items. There is certainly plenty to choice. I do want to add that we found the glasses for juice dirty. We got a taxi from the hotel to the train station and it cost 20 euros. We got the train to Rimini. If you go to the mini market you can buy tickets there. One way for 2 adults was 22euros and 80 cents. We got the 08:36 train and that got us into Rimini at 10:04. There is a travel agent at the train station in Rimini where we were able to buy return bus tickets to San Marino this was 28 euros. You turn right out the train station and walk 200 meters to the Hotel Napoli this is where you get the bus. Sadly expect to pushed and elbowed. People don’t know how to form a line. The bus we got was at 10:30. The bus journey takes 55 minutes. There was two buses on so you will get a seat. San Marino is beautiful. You can go to the tourist office in the castle to get your passport stamped for 5 euros. We stopped off at Agli Antichi Orti for lunch. We choose to sit outside. We love the sun and heat. For a 250ml glass of wine it is 4 euros and a pint of beer is 5 euros. My husband had the gnocchi and I had the tagutelli with ragu. I highly recommend stopping here. The food and service was amazing. Plus great value for money. We got the bus back at 2:30pm which gave us plenty of time to explore and have lunch. The bus drops you off at the train station. We went to the ticket desk and the lady was extremely helpful and recommended the quickest train home. The trains in Italy are full but with lots of people with large suitcases so expect to be standing. We then went an explored Bologna. What a beautiful place. Once we had explored we came across this restaurant Mattarello Bolognese. Where again we sat outside. We both had tortellini. I had cheese and pear and husband had mushroom and truffle oil. I highly recommend coming here. When we got back to our room we had found that someone else’s dry cleaning had been left in our room. They had scored out the other persons room number and put ours. We returned the items to reception. We then went to the bar to get a drink. First of all my wine glass was dirty and my husband’s glass had two chips in it. The bar man resolved the issue. However when it came to ordering another drink this appeared to be more difficult. My husband asked for a menu and was told they were all being used by dinners. My suggestion is to have separate drinks menu. After waiting quite a while I went up to the bar and there was a menu. So I placed an order. But our drinks were never arriving. The issue was there was only 1 barman on. One man came out and was clearing tables and one waitress. There was clearly not enough staff on. Which is not the staffs fault. At 9pm we gave up waiting so my husband and I went to the bar to cancel the order. We were standing at the bar first then a gentleman turned up and he was served before us. We cancelled the order. We had asked to sign for it but was told it didn’t matter. The next morning we went to see what we had been charged. The bar bill was correct but our dry cleaning bill we had been charged for 2 pairs of jeans when it was only one. For our last day we spent it by the pool. If you want a lounger and umbrella it is 30 euros. The lifeguard was very helpful and found us somewhere to sunbathe and even recommended the best spots for sunbathing. The pool had three lanes set up for lengths. I was in one lane. Another man went in a lane and then there was an empty lane. What I found weird and creepy is that another man who was bald with swimming googles turned up and choose to come in the lane I was in even though there was an empty lane. So I moved to the empty lane. I don’t know if this was hotel guest or a regular to the pool. This hotel is a little bit of the city centre but we chose this hotel based on the swimming pool as we wanted a mixture of sunbathing by the pool and also sightseeing.
Nice room, big and clean, staff is always welcome and ready to help you. Elisa and Deborah helped me to organise my trips around bologna, so thankful for them. The pool is very nice and big!
