San Francesco Hotel

It’s FINE. Although not 4 star by any measure, it’s a pilgrim hotel. We stayed there with family, it was safe, clean, comfortable, economical. The breakfast was good, the staff was helpful, the price is right. I believe that those expecting luxury don’t understand the purpose of a visit to Loreto.

Tour company booked this motel for us. Moldy shower, marred walls, musty smelling, had AC turned off, dated decor, tiny bar of soap and small packet of shampoo. wardrobe not boted to wall and almost fell in me! Broken lamp and NO electrical outlets by bed! Do not stay here!

I usually don't write reviews on Tripadvisor - but I loved this hotel so much that I am sharing my review. So we were on a five-day pilgrimage across Italy - from Assisi to Padua, Loreto to San Giovanni Rotondo. Out of all the places we stayed at - San Francesco Hotel was our favourite experience! We stayed there just for one night - 27 April and were very reluctant to leave the place. The hotel is a converted monastery which added to the religious experience. The receptionist who greeted us in the evening was so chirpy and friendly - we unfortunately didn't get her name. We loved everything about our stay and most especially the room given to us - which had an amazing view of the Sanctuary. The only thing I might not recommend is having dinner there. We were too tired to go anywhere else - so we had at the hotel itself.

Small rooms; below average breakfast. We stayed only one night so cannot comment on housekeeping other than the fact that the room looked clean. It was fine for a one night stay. It did have a safe, which was a plus. Water and snacks were available at low prices. I’d rate the hotel 2.5 if Tripadvisor allowed that.

A very comfortable and welcoming hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room had a beautiful ocean view and it was spacious with a comfy bed. Cleanliness standards were excellent all around. Food was delicious. We were reluctant to leave.
