Grand Hotel Gardone

Loved this place. Had an old charm to it and the staff were lovely. Can't understand how anyone can raise issues with the breakfast, it had the most things to choose from i've ever seen! The view can't be beaten and add in the aspect of the view and you'd find it hard to top.

Shambles!! I always try to be fair, but its very difficult to find many positives with the hotel Firstly, great location, and nice views. But the downside outweighs this. Breakfast was hard going, we asked the manager for some toast, not much to ask for in a 4 star hotel, 40 minutes we waited, then was told they don't serve toast on Sundays & Mondays! There are no tea making facilities in the room, so to get some tea we had to go down four floors and walk a fair distance ( Its a big hotel ) to get just a cup of hot water, needless to say it was only warm water by the time we got up to the room. Apparently the hotel is closing for a refurbishment, but our taxi driver said this has been ongoing for 3 years. Friday/Saturday/Sunday the hotel was holding weddings, and boy did they play the music loud until 23.00, then you get the door slamming until the early hours. It really does need a massive makeover. I could go on, however please be aware this can no way be classed as 4 star

Wonderful old hotel, a little faded? yes, character 100%!. Lovely attentive staff, spotlessly clean, quiet and relaxing. Good food in the restaurant and the breakfast was amazing, the best I have had in many places, free prosecco for goodness sake. Sadly, it is closing in October for a massive refurbishment. It will lose something and I should imagine gain a huge increase in price. Glad I went here before it become inaccessible to many of us.

Lovely hotel, very relaxing holiday. Excellent location with lovely bars and restaurants within walking distance. Staff very friendly. Rooms decent size, comfortable bed and good air con.

My husband, daughter and I stayed in July 2025 at the Grand Hotel Gardone. We loved its old-world charm and elegance and the gardens are beautifully maintained. The hotel building and rooms are full of style character, overlooking Lake Garda with fantastic views across the lake and to Isola del Garda. Our rooms had wonderful lake views and were spacious. The breakfast was exceptional – one of the best we’ve ever had, with tremendous variety. The restaurant staff were attentive and everything was very well presented. The hotel manager added a personal touch to the experience and we had the impression of a great, and helpful team working together throughout the hotel. The location is perfect, right next to the Gardone ferry stop, making it easy to explore the lake and nearby towns. We highly recommend Grand Hotel Gardone to anyone looking for a quaint, characterful hotel and a memorable stay on Lake Garda. There are beautiful botanical gardens to explore too in Gardone and the Annunzio villa, gardens and museum were well worth a visit. Some reviews, I have noted, have suggested the hotel needs refurbishment but we all appreciated the character and personality of the hotel just the way it is. We would definitely visit again.
