Hotel Continental

Roztomilý hotel s krásnou atmosférou v milém a malém místě Nago nad jezerem Lago di Garda. Personál ochotný, pokoje moc hezké. Výhledy z oken ať k jezeru, které vidíte jen kousíček, nebo na skály a vinice je nádherný. Bazén je 20 metrů od hotelu, jde se k němu roztomilou stezkou a najednou se pod letitými olivovníky objeví krásný bazén s malým barem, trávníkem pod momunetálními skalami. Má to prostě svého ducha. V hotelu stále něco nabízejí, buď ovoce u bazénu, nebo drinky na ochutnání. Jídelna je prostorná. Půjčují kola i elektrokola. Hotel má podzemní garáže pro auta. Je vyhledáván zejména cyklisty a motocyklisty, protože je idální základnou pro vyjížďky. Kdo se chce koupat nebo surfovat, měl by blíže k jezeru. Takhle by to bylo na dojíždění, i když dolů vede z Naga do Torbole krásná Via Europa, stará římská cesta, po níž projít se je zážitek. A netrvá to dlouho. Tak 3é minut.

Before anything I want to say the staff are the friendliest we’ve ever encountered at a hotel. I would say it’s a small busy hotel. They are clearly trying to attract more business hopefully they will employ more staff at busier times. Pros You order your evening meal at breakfast from a menu so should be cooked fresh Lovely pool area, plenty of sunbeds, pool bar food limited but fine for lunch, room k basic limited hanging space, lovely Mountain view from small balcony but noisy with motorbikers who use the hotel regularly, nice free beach bag but rather have them spend money updating rooms, fantastic cocktail menu, best ive ever seen 6 pages! Good hotel shuttle bus into town, Breakfast really good big hot/cold choice, evening meal k but agree with others we were forgotten couple times by over hour, not pleasant having to chase your food. Cons Blinds needed in restaurant extension, we had to move table because was too hot in direct sun, No maintenance team at weekends so had to keep emptying our sink with cup as plug stuck, not ideal. Shower enclosure very small and bathroom dated, cracked floor tiles, not enough room for toiletries. Beware!! It’s a walk in hot sun to and from transfer coach which doesn’t go all the way to the hotel. It’s a lovely area to explore, you can get the boat from town to several places.

My wife and I spent a week at The Hotel Continental in Nago at the northern End of Lake Garda from July 1st. We went with Jet2 and enjoyed a good value half board stay in a standard room. We had picked the hotel as we wanted a relaxing holiday somewhere quiet and not as hot as greece or Turkey. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Tonelli family hotel which has a pretty pool area with gardens and olive trees for a little shade. There is a handy pool bar for snacks and drinks and here Natalia, Said and team did a fabulous job of keeping us refreshed, even providing complimentary fruit such as fresh pineapple and melon in the afternoons. The staff throughout the hotel were wonderful, friendly and helpful and couldn't do more to make your stay relaxed and enjoyable. Lorenzo in the restaurant and Samwell at the bar were particularly attentive, but all were good and the ladies on reception were always smiling and helpful too. The hotel is in a quiet location, up a fairly steep hill a good mile or so from Lake Garda and the lakeside town of Torbole, but with the hotel shuttle and local buses (free of charge with the Trentino tourist app) it was fairly easy to get there and back. There are ferries from Torbole connecting to local towns, so for once we didn't need to hire a car to explore. The weather was hot and sunny, around 30 most afternnons but there is often a breeze from the mountains, so it is bearable. The scenery is stunning, local people friendly and helpful, it's clean and at this time of year busy but not too crowded. Thank you Tonelli Hotels and Jet2 for a great holiday.

We stayed a week in a standard double (room 307) on a half board basis at the end of June. We had a lovely view of the surrounding hills from our small balcony – a benefit of a room on the third floor! The room is very small but functional. The double bed and pillows are very firm. The bathroom is tiny and dated! The grounds and pool area are well maintained and have a charm but the pool itself is on the small side and busy! The indoor pool, gym and sauna are effectively in the same open plan area – the gym has no air conditioning and no water. It was unpleasantly humid and hot. The surrounding countryside is sensational! Lots of cycle routes and hiking treks. The main road through Nago is very busy but the village itself is a delight! It takes about 40 minutes to walk down to the lake (the path is steep and uneven) and the return journey is tough! There are several water fountains in the village (none in the hotel) and a small mini-supermarket with limited stock There is a bigger supermarket in Trobelo! You get allocated a restaurant table and that is the one you must use for the duration of your stay (you can, however, eat breakfast outside on a different table). The evening salad buffet is good but waiter service for the remaining courses is slow and expect lengthy “waits” between courses. The breakfast buffet is excellent- lots of choice and fresh produce. Contrary to other reviews, I would suggest you make the most of the salad buffet as the other courses may disappoint. The Pasta course was usually decent but the main dishes were rarely memorable – very average by Italian standards. If you end up on a “poor table” the evening meal drags on. The system works by guests completing a menu at breakfast for the meal that evening. Unfortunately, this system is not prefect! Our menu got “lost” twice in a row and when we complained to the head waiter we were rudely told it was our fault which was upsetting and untrue. We took this further at reception but never received an apology from anyone. A couple of the waiting staff saw we were upset and made an effort to be helpful the next morning. Management, however, were unconcerned. Nago and the surrounding countryside are lovely but this hotel only gets a 3/5 from us.

Stayed here in June.Location was great .Hotel provided a mini bus at 9 and 10 to go down to Torbole and a pick up at 4 in the afternoon.The local bus stop was about 300m.The hotel was very clean throughout.Food was execellent every day.Staff were great in all areas .The only downside was the room was small.but that could have been the room we were allocated .There again you only use it to sleep in and change.Overall i would definately recomend this hotel.
