From start to finish, our stay at Santre Dolomythic Home was truly a ravishment. From the moment you arrive, the tone is set. The spacious and luxurious underground garage immediately gives a sense of the level of care and design throughout the property. EV charging stations are available, and everything feels well thought out and refined. What stands out very quickly is that this truly feels like a family-owned property where hospitality and attention to detail are deeply rooted values. You can see the owners actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the hotel, working across different areas and leading by example. Their presence is felt everywhere and it clearly shapes the culture of the place. Bravo to the Goller family. This culture translates directly into the service. Across the board — reception, restaurant, bar, spa, housekeeping — the service is outstanding. In the vast majority of interactions, we were welcomed with genuine smiles and a sincere desire to help. It feels authentic and consistent. Rooms & Design The rooms are beautiful, modern, and finished to a very high standard. Quality materials are everywhere throughout the hotel: gorgeous wood selections, refined stonework, and meticulous craftsmanship. Nothing feels cheap or rushed. We stayed in the 2-bedroom / 2-bathroom family suite, which is ideal for families wanting both privacy and tranquility. It even features a private terrace sauna with essential oils provided — a fantastic touch. They truly think of every detail. The mountain view from the room is breathtaking, and waking up to birds singing in the morning is simply wonderful. The bedding deserves special mention: outstanding mattress and duvet quality. You will sleep extremely well. One small quirk worth noting: when setting the room temperature to 18°C, it felt closer to 23–24°C, and the floor in one of the bathrooms was constantly very warm. Nothing major, but worth mentioning. Spa & Wellness – Extraordinary The spa facilities are exceptional. Everything is spotless, beautifully finished, and impeccably maintained. The hammam is absolutely top of the line — easily the best steam experience I’ve ever had, with high-quality steam infused with essential oils. The jacuzzi and sauna offer breathtaking mountain views, which makes the experience even more special. There are spacious showers with essential oil shower gels, ultra-comfortable bathrobes, and thick towels. Fresh and dried fruits are available, along with a wide variety of herbal teas and citrus-infused waters. The relaxation rooms are incredibly comfortable. The Aufguss ceremonies, led daily by sauna masters, are fantastic and definitely not to be missed. Spa treatments are excellent as well — very professional, thorough, and deeply relaxing massages. The gym is well equipped, spotless, and overlooks the pool with beautiful mountain views, making workouts surprisingly peaceful. Culinary Experience The dining experience is equally impressive. Breakfast offers a very generous variety: nuts, fresh fruits, cold cuts, cheeses, juices, and several milk options. The juicer machine — with apples, carrots, and ginger — is extremely popular in the morning. One small detail: the poached eggs arrived slightly undercooked (a bit gelatinous and translucent). If you prefer them firmer, simply ask for about 4 minutes of cooking time. Dinner is a refined 5-course menu featuring beautiful ingredients, precise cooking, elegant preparation, and excellent presentation. Every evening felt like a real culinary experience. A particularly nice touch: you can purchase wine bottles at the beginning of your stay, and each evening your bottle will be waiting at your assigned table, which remains the same throughout your stay. One small downside: filtered or house sparkling water is €4 per carafe, which feels a bit expensive. Perhaps charging for the first carafe and including refills would feel more reasonable. During a one-week stay for four people, we spent about €120 just on water. Activities & Ski Access The hotel offers a full activity calendar, most of which is included in the stay (except certain activities like e-bike tours where bike rental is extra). We participated in several activities — e-bike, hiking, stretching, and Aufguss — and they were all excellent. A small suggestion: slightly more detailed descriptions of the hiking and e-bike activities would be helpful for preparation. For example: whether trails may be muddy, if snow walking is expected, the difference between shuttle travel time and actual hiking time, etc. This would help guests dress and prepare accordingly. For skiing, a shuttle runs every 30 minutes to the Plose ski station, only about 4 minutes away. Very convenient. A day pass is around €70, and the ski area itself is charming, pleasant, and more than enough to enjoy a full week. Arrival & Departure Finally, both arrival and departure are seamless. Upon arrival, valet service takes care of everything: your car is parked in the garage and your luggage is brought directly to your room. At departure, luggage is loaded into your car and brought to the hotel entrance ready for you. Outstanding service. The hotel is also extremely responsive by email and provided all the information we needed quickly and clearly. Final Thoughts In short, we recommend Santre with our eyes closed. We stayed at another hotel of similar standing years ago, but this one surpasses it with consistently strong execution across every aspect of the experience. We will return without hesitation. Thank you to the entire Santre team — and especially the Goller family — for such a memorable stay.
