Caravel

Just returned home after spending two weeks in this lovely family run hotel. We were not disappointed in a single thing as the staff throughout the hotel made you feel so welcome from the moment you stepped into the reception area. Rooms varied in size, however we had chosen one with a balcony which faced the pool area at the front of the hotel. They had everything you would require and although our particular room had a shower over the bath, when I requested a slip mat to be provided, it was dealt with immediately. We celebrated a special wedding anniversary whilst we were there and the staff made it a truly memorable day for us, providing a lovely decorated table for our evening meal and making us feel so happy we had chosen to stay in this lovely hotel. The food was excellent throughout our holiday with plenty of choices for all tastes. They even cater for gluten intolerance and allergies. The pool area is small but plenty of sunbeds available without any issues with towels being placed on them to reserve which was wonderful. There are a couple of roof sun terraces if you prefer not to be by a poolside and these have fantastic views over the town the Sorrento area. The free shuttle bus into Sorrento from the hotel was a great asset and available every day every 15/30 mins. The driver was very pleasant and always on time. It is possible to walk into Sorrento from this hotel and fairly easy taking about 20/25 mins. We took the bus a lot as it was so hot but did walk a few times to see the beautiful views over the Bay of Naples on the way. Overall, the staff are the most friendly and helpful team of people you could ever meet and they go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful and relaxing holiday, which we did. Thank you Hotel Caravel, we will most definitely be returning to stay with you in the not too distant future.

We are a little disappointed the reviews are good but I’m not sure the hotel is as good as the reviews. The free shuttle bus. You MUST book in advance or you can’t get on it. They never told us this and taxis are expensive ! Room very basic pool very small, breakfast was fine we didn’t eat in the evening so cannot comment. We just felt like we were asking for too much when we asked questions or for any help etc

An extremely welcoming friendly, well run hotel where they look after you. Everyone working in the hotel from the receptionists to the cleaners and those working in the restaurant and bar were so lovely and worked so hard to ensure you were looked after and your stay was a positive one. The room was lovely (we had a room on the first floor with a little balcony looking out over the outside bar and pool). The pool and jacuzzi was lovely and refreshing and the pool area/ sunbeds a nice environment to relax (although towards end of our stay the new people arriving started the sun bed saving and then disappearing leaving them empty with a towel on all morning when there was no need). We were on half board so enjoyed the tasty 4 course meal each night and breakfast. Both were top notch with great variety. Rooms super clean and on the whole very sound proof (just the person in the room above us liked to drag their chair around at night!). We used the courtesy bus most days to take us there and back into Sorrento. Just down the road is an excellent swim spot from the beach club. €5 for a deck chair. The snorkling is amazing. Highly recommend this hotel.

Just got back from an amazing week at the Hotel Caravel and Sorrento Italy. Second time there and as always an amazing time and experience. The place is perfect for a family holiday with nice hotel and pool. Great location too. The staff are absolutely amazing. The restaurant and food are a highlight Thank you to Angelo and Antonio and the rest of the restaurant staff. You make our holidays amazing. Thank you all so much. Was sad to leave.

Rooms and hotel are very dated and in need of refurb . It’s a 3 star at best ! Plus side shower was really good powerful and the staff are friendly . Mini bus into Sorrento is a big plus . Bars bit expensive 6 euros for half of beer and 4 for a coke ! Breakfast limited to be honest . Tried to upgrade to better room but there all the same style just different size and different view .
