Mama Shelter Roma

I worked in the travel industry for 5 years and have been travelling for close to 50 years. This hotel is world class, the personal service and the staff is second to none. If you are a family, we are 4 (3 and 7 year old kids) I cannot possibly recommend it highly enough. It is a little way from the tourist centre but that is no bad thing. A particular thank you to Antonio who made our children feel more welcome than any other hotel that we have ever visited. It is very rare that I can recommend a hotel to literally anyone, particularly people with families, but , Mama Shelter is that hotel. First class . Thank you guys so much for the amazing service and unforgettable break. We will be back. No question.

As a Disloyalty member , I expected a more elevated level of service. Some staff were amazing, others as if they don’t care. Food, lunch and dinner was great but why sit everyone so close together when you have so much space and I had emails to check? Breakfast was too chaotic and even getting a coffee you had to ask 3 times. Rooms are spacious if you upgrade and so not choose street facing rooms like mine. I needed ear plugs. And when I asked to change room they put me in a smaller room and was not even made up! I chose to to back to my original room. The nearest metro is Cipro. Overall a decent stay but I never really felt I was looked after in an exceptional way.

This was by far the worst stay I’ve had in the last two years and I’m a Platinum member who travels constantly. The hotel itself may look calm and beautiful, but the service is shockingly bad. You genuinely get the feeling that guests are nothing but an inconvenience to the staff. To make things even worse, my baptism chain disappeared in the spa. I asked for help three days in a row not even to perform a real investigation, just to pretend they cared enough to look. Instead, I was met with dismissive answers and a flat “it’s not there,” as if my issue wasn’t worth a single minute of their time. If you value your belongings, or simply expect the minimum level of professionalism, avoid this place. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel — unless you’re comfortable with the idea that your items might vanish and no one will lift a finger to help you.

Worst stay of the passed 2 years, and I am platinium, I travel a lot. the hotel is beautiful and peaceful but the service is horrible, people just don't want you to be here. As if it was not enough, my baptisme chain was stolen in the spa, and when I asked them (3 days in a row) to look for it, or at least act as if they are looking, they denied help saying "it is not ther". I do not recomand at all, especially if you do not want the staff to steal your stuff

We had previously stayed her 2 years ago and really enjoyed our stay, unfortunately this time was different story, we found the staff quite rude and unfriendly, breakfast was a disaster no coffee machines working staff not communicating with each other etc, but what I really found unacceptable for a hotel which charges over €200 a night is to be told we could use the bar because there was a event on we could stand in reception and they would bring us a drink !! They really have to make up there mind if they want to be a Hotel or a event Centre
