Hotel Cocca Royal Thai Spa

Our room was basic but ok with a nice view over the pool and lake. There was only a sheet on the bed and no other covering. The next day we were told there was a quilt in a drawer( the only one we hadn’t looked in). It had no cover on it and was not washed between guests but just returned to the drawer. Very unhygienic. If you wanted milk for tea etc you had to go to the bar to get it. We were distant from anywhere else so booked into the restaurant for dinner due to our late arrival and made a choice from the Thai menu. We decided to share a dish. We ordered a main course with rice. When it arrived there was about half a cup of rice, less than a cup of minced meat and three slices of capsicum. This cost 30 euro and bore no resemblance to the photos of the dishes that they displayed. Our friends ordered a vegetarian dish. It didn’t even fill the small soup bowl and was even more expensive than our meal. There was one waitress who served everyone and a barman taking orders employed for the two bus loads of people in our group that they expected. When we went to settle our account they tried to charge us for items we hadn’t ordered or consumed- this happened to everyone in our large group. Senior staff were very rude, ignored us at the counter for a long time and were aggressive when we asked for attention.

Hotel is a long way from Town no restaurant choices nearby. Our dinner first night was like a scene from fawlty towers. One waiter and one waitress for a tour group of 51 people. Food was below average. Rooms ok. Bought salads in sarnico so didn’t have to go through that food experience again. Surely you knew there was two bus loads of tourist coming who had no choice but to eat at your restaurant at 730 at night. Imagine holidays should find a hotel Elsewhere. Oh and paying for tap Water at the table??

We generally enjoyed our stay. However, while breakfast was really nice, dinner options were very limited and did not change from day to day. Without a car we were stuck at this location. The wait staff in the morning was very attentive but in the evening the staff were merely coping at best. Rooms were good with a huge king bed.

Good room and bathroom with great shower. Room temp cannot be controlled from within the room though and must be negotiated with reception who were difficult in it case.

Staff was very friendly to us Americans. Room was very clean and comfortable with a view of the lake. Nice bar and restaurant. Food was great. Lovely breakfast buffet. Loved our stay :-)
