Residence Zust

Spent a week (9/28 - 10/4) at Hotel Residence Zust with my family of 20 for my son's wedding in Lago Maggore. As you can imagine booking 6 rooms for 6 different families ( ages 3 months - 86 years old) can be a challenge but Hotel Zust had lots of room options to meet all of our needs at a very reasonable cost The lobby, sitting area and grounds around the hotel are well maintained. Stella and the staff happily answered lots of our questions while making (and changing) reservations and also while we were there with tidbits of information on where to go and how to get there. They were always pleasant and accommodating. I stayed in the Trilocale Superior room (just renovated in the Spring of '23) and it was clean and spacious, with a kitchen that was well stocked with utensils, pots, pans, etc, and a bed that was extremely comfortable. The view from the balcony where we enjoyed our breakfast was breathtaking. My son and his bride joined us for 2 nights after the wedding and they were treated like royalty. Again, it was great to find a place that physically met our needs but what was more important was how welcoming, pleasant and kind the staff was to us and with the other guests. Would recommend Hotel Residence Zust to anyone staying in Lago Maggore.

Personnel was friendly and helpful, parking was good and room was as offered 2 breakfast session ( 7.45-8.45 and 9-10 hrs ) seem unnecessary if one has enough staff, which was not the case. Such luxury is normally noted in top hotels but not at bed and breakfast. We took the second seating and ended up with no croissants of our choice ( which is not creme but plain ) - and no egg service ( scramble, boiled, etc. ) but a deadly long cooked hard egg which one can hardly digest. Check out time at 10.00hrs is questionable if you can only check in at 16.00hrs. Generally said it was what we booked but not expected.

We had a weeks holiday at one of their appartments, clean and comfortable. The pool, lake beach were perfect. We used the pontoon for our boat, it was so easy to explore the surrounding area. The staff were extremely helpful with booking restaurants and giving advice in relation to other pontoons that we could use. The link with their campsites were great also to give the kids more play areas and activities. All in all we had an amazing week. Definitely recommended and will be returning.

We stayed for a week with 3 families - very friendly and excellent service! Pool and garden next to the lake are a nice place to spend time to cool down. Boat trip taking you from Zust to the beautiful Isola Bella is a must do.

Hotel and Pool/garden have the busy road between each other. Lakeside room was therefore loud. No lakeside walk possible. Instead a nice path with high walls leading to the city is available but seems without light at night. Pool is closed since 24th September which means that also all pool chairs are also unavailable. It doesn’t seem that there is much to do in the area. Breakfast was good and staff was very friendly
