Hotel Santa Gilla

This was my third time to stay in this hotel, 2019, 2024 and this year 2026. The hotel was very conscious and aware of specific needs of guests travelling with reduced mobility and nothing was an issue. The comfort, reassurance and safety of the guest was always of paramount importance to the hotel staff. This was sincerely appreciated. 3 great lifeguards( Fabio, Oliviero, and Thomas) I wouldn't be able to enjoy the sunlounger and pool without them, i.e. I wouldn't be able to do this kind of sun holiday if they were not willing to help me,and I sincerely appreciated it. They always helped me up from the sunlounger and in and out of the pool, when I wished to swim in the pool.Excellent buffet in the evening too by the chef and his team. Clean large rooms kept in excellent condition.very diligent restaurant staff who helped me with the buffet. Thank you. Excellent team on reception Simone, Antonella, Rita, Laetitia, and Anastasia, were always available to answer any questions, advise you on day trips and book transfers to Cagliari or the airport. Thank you again for yet another great holiday.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The hotel was exceptionally clean and the grounds were well maintained. We enjoyed visiting the local beach as well as exploring the island.

The hotel’s dinning space is more like a “canteen “ . It is divided from reception by wooden moveable screens. We ate dinner once and would not go back. The hotel is located in an industrial site with minimal eating places outside the hotel gates . We are at Lughente restaurant which was walking distance from hotel and top quality. The pool was nice and room was nice . The beach across the road is not worth a visit and there is no lagoon accessible from the hotel to see flamingo’s. It is not a 4 star hotel and will not be back .

This hotel is lovely. Staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. It's super clean. It has a lovely pool and grounds to stroll around in. Breakfast was plentiful. Very fresh. From pastries, hot food, fruit, yoghurt etc. Great coffee from the machine. We had dinner on the first night. For us, there wasn't great options at the buffet so the €34 each wasn't worth it. We didn't have dinner again in the hotel. The only downside, for us, was location. The bus stop was nearly impossible to find for Cagliari. One receptionist told us a different one so we waited over an hour and no bus came so we were frustrated, annoyed and in the sweltering heat of almost 40 degrees we wasted a day trying to get a bus to Cagliari. Eventually on our last day, we found the bus stop. It's literally a pole in a car park beside the water station. There's also a sheltered bus stop on the footpath but this is not the bus stop. Twice we ate in the pizzeria Goblin across the road and it was lovely. Great prices and quick service. There's a lovely beach across the road too. Overall, we would definitely return to the hotel providing the bus route/location doesn't change as we'd know how to navigate quicker. Or we'd just return for a relaxing few days away.

Lovely hotel, nice Staff. Did not eat any evening meals there, but we had breakfast, this was hit and miss with some mornings no fresh fruit, very little for Vegan/Vegitarian diet. The pool was great, but limited opening. The location of the hotel was ok, nice views over the Nature Reserve and sights of Flamingoes, but the town a suburd of Capoterra was scruffy and run down. The short walk to the beach was appreciated and the sea and sand clean. The beach Cafes/Clubs were a bit hit and miss for food, but pleasent surroundings and staff. Overall a nice holiday, with good Bus services to Cagliara and Pula.
