Spiagge San Pietro, a charming & relaxing resort

We had a really enjoyable and relaxing stay at Spiagge San Pietro Resort. The resort has a beautiful, personal feel to it and some genuinely impressive areas, although there are a few things that I think need attention — particularly around the pool and landscaping. Arrival & First Impressions The entrance to the resort is beautiful and you’re immediately made to feel welcome. The gate staff greeted us as we drove in, and they took our luggage from the car and arranged for it to be taken to our room, which was a lovely touch. The reception staff were also extremely welcoming and personally showed us to our room, which added to the feeling that you were being looked after from the moment you arrived. There is also secure parking on site, which was very convenient. The main resort itself is incredibly well finished. The buildings and courtyard are beautiful, with a stage for the nightly performances, the breakfast and dinner areas, and a lovely bistro-style poolside bar and lunch area. It makes a fantastic first impression. Staff & Service The staff were one of the strongest parts of the stay. There are people from several different nationalities working at the resort, including Italian, Ukrainian, Czech and New Zealand staff, all of whom spoke very good English. The service has a genuinely personal feel. Nothing is paid for directly while you’re around the resort — everything is charged to your room and settled at the end of the stay. The staff were also excellent at remembering room numbers, which added to that feeling of being personally looked after. Room Our room was lovely, clean and spacious, with a nice balcony. Towels were changed every day and the minibar was reasonably priced, which is always appreciated. The shower is particularly spacious, although the temperature did fluctuate occasionally. The air conditioning works well enough, although the unit is a lower fixed type rather than the modern ceiling/wall-mounted systems you find in newer hotels. It still kept the room comfortable, but isn’t quite as effective as a more modern system. Toiletries and other basic amenities are provided in the bathroom. Breakfast Breakfast was excellent. Everything felt fresh and there was plenty to choose from. There isn’t a huge amount of variation from day to day, but everything you would want is available. Hot food can also be ordered, which is a nice touch. The breakfast staff were the same team we saw in the evening, so they quickly got to know guests and were very attentive. The service felt genuinely personal rather than corporate. Dinner Dinner was another highlight. The menu changes every other night, with different themes including Sardinian and Italian evenings alongside the standard menus. This gives the food good variation during a longer stay, and we thought the pricing was reasonable for the quality and setting. Beach The beach is just a two-minute walk from the resort and is absolutely beautiful. Our package included an allocated sunbed with a sun visor, which was a great benefit. The beach itself has white sand, incredibly clear water and, when we visited, wasn’t particularly busy. The beach lifeguard was also very friendly and welcoming, which was another nice touch. The only downside is that there isn’t a dedicated beach bar belonging to the resort. There is, however, another bar on the same beach serving drinks and lunch, which is perfectly good. Pool & Bistro The poolside bistro is a lovely setting for lunch, although the prices are quite high. As an example, a Caesar salad was €28. There is also no poolside table service, so you have to walk up to the bar to order. For a resort of this standard, I’d personally expect a little more service around the pool. Areas That Need Improvement This is where I think the resort falls short of its potential. The pool area itself looks tired in places. There are algae stains and cracks around the edge of the pool, and the surrounding grass and landscaping aren’t maintained to the standard you’d expect from a four-star resort. The walkways around the rooms are another area that needs attention, with weeds growing into some of the paths. There are also small ponds and fountains where algae has built up, making some areas look neglected. It’s a shame because the buildings and overall design of the resort are beautiful. A proper refresh of the landscaping, pool area and walkways would make a huge difference. Atmosphere This definitely isn’t a party resort — and for us, that’s a positive. It’s incredibly relaxed, peaceful and quiet, making it a great place to switch off. The nightly performances add some atmosphere without turning the resort into a noisy or lively party destination. Overall Spiagge San Pietro has the foundations of a genuinely excellent four-star resort. The buildings are beautiful, the beach is fantastic, the food is good, and the staff provide a level of personal service that you don’t always get at larger resorts. The main thing holding it back is maintenance. Some of the outdoor areas simply need more care and investment. The pool, landscaping, walkways and fountains don’t quite match the standard set by the beautiful buildings and interiors. With some investment and better upkeep, this could be a 5-star experience. Good service. The best staff.

The location of the resort is stunning and remote. You will definitely need a car to get to local towns and shops. It is in walking distance to the beach which was stunning too. The atmosphere was geared towards relaxation and well being and did not disappoint. Throughout the day there was calming music playing and although the resort was busy this was only evident with the use of the beach, pool or restaurant. But never once does it feel overcrowded, noisy or intrusive. Sometimes it felt there were less people than their actually was. The hotel is not an adult only hotel but it is not geared towards children either. There were children there but it very much felt like an adult on atmosphere if that is what you are looking for. The rooms were kept to a high standard and checked and cleaned daily the cleaners were unitrusive and hardworking, especially in the heat. Saying that I found the bedroom a little chilly on an evening but too warm if aircon was off, but the hotel offered me an extra blanket to combat this. (I like a little weight from my bedding) but everything you needed was there in the room (although husband wished there had been coffee making facilities in room as well as the well stocked mini bar which had juices, water, beers and sodas. We found a small local shop quite close by, which was perfect for snacks, water and any extras you may run out of. The excursions we did were amazing, I would definitely recommend the catermeran, the day was so special and the FEAST provided was delicious and family like. We also did snorkeling, speed boat and the jeep tour, all very much worth the money and seeing more of the island and getting lots of opportunities to swim. The lady onside who organises these does so on your behalf with local companies and keeps you well informed. Sardinia is expensive, and yes sometimes people may find the food pricey at the hotel but please note the food is done to a high standard, the restaurant was immaculate and food exceptional. There was also a bistro which did smaller meal options for through the day until early evening. The breakfast included was extensive and if you left hungry, you only have yourself to blame. Cooked options, pastries, cereals, meats, yogurts, breads and fruits all available and again the standard was very high. We also ate at other places but the costs were roughly the same depending on where you went. My biggest compliment has to go to the staff. They work so hard to make sure your stay is amazing, they work very long days and always accommodated, smiled and chatted. I had grown very fond of them and was very sad on my last night saying goodbye. After 11 nights, we felt we had gotten to know some of them well. I tired to tell each one my thanks personally but there are just so many amazing people who work there. I could not thank them enough for making our holiday wonderful and for the hard work they do/did. If you want sun, sea, relaxation, beaches, scenery and amazing food, this is the place for you. Minus points: - rooms inside look cheap, not worth for a 4 star hotel -although we had a double superior room, the furniture and the bathroom fixtures were poor quality, the upper door frame inside the bathroom fell off and nobody came to repair in 4 days, there were no bathrobes, we had ripped towels, no coffee or tea machine, no shoehorn, no brushes, no desk accesories required for a 4 star hotel, in one word cheap; when we complaind at the reception, we were told that we should have paid more to upgrade to another room/ suite but this is not ok, my understanding is that if you advertise a 4 star hotel, the cheapest room should be equiped according to standards - the sockets are for phone chargers only (we are used to have our own iron to take care of our clothing ) but the sockets are modified so you can not use your own devices -although sheets and towel were changed daily, cleaning was superficial -gorgeous pool, but unfortunately not clean (on the ground there was always sand and some sort of black seeds from the plants around) -breackfast buffet not very diverse -the gym is actually a joke, there are some fitness machines outdoor, the same as you find in public parks installed by city hall -there is no shop around except the hotel boutique wich is not always open and car rental is available only for the next day, from Cagliari, so if you have bad luck and your luggage gets lost at the airport, as it happened to us, you are in trouble Plus points -the resort itself (outside the rooms) looks beautiful, with lots of space, well maintained garden -beach 200m away , beautiful sandy beach, turquoise water -dinner experience was very good, very friendly staff

What can I say??? Simply WOOOOOOOOW!! I stayed at this hotel for four nights to celebrate my 40th birthday in magnificent Sardinia. The hotel consists of several buildings, like a small village, with a maximum of two floors. It is very pleasant with lots of gardens and flowers. The heart of the hotel is the round central building with a square in the middle where the restaurant, bar and reception are located. I would like to say a few words of thanks to the staff, who were all very kind and always smiling. Especially a big thank you to Federico of the restaurant. Always a truly warm welcome worthy of the best hotel schools. Breakfast is served as a buffet, which I must say is not bad, but I must reiterate that Italy is a very strong country when it comes to other meals, but there is still a lot of room for improvement when it comes to breakfast, even though, to be honest, the quality of the products was good. Fantastic dinner, four courses served at the table, not buffet style, with a choice of three dishes for each course. Definitely one of the best half-board options I have seen. We booked a junior suite with a Jacuzzi, which was simply fantastic. Recently renovated, with a huge bathroom with a bathtub and a very large walk-in shower. Our room category included evening turndown service, which was much appreciated. I was very satisfied with the room, as well as the terrace with the Jacuzzi (although the water was a little cold for my taste) and two deckchairs. Cleaning is impeccable in the room as well as on common areas of the hotel. The beach is easily accessible on foot, where the lifeguard will show you the parasol and sun loungers that will be assigned to you for your entire stay. WOOOOWW beach and even more WOOOW sea! Beautiful days spent on the beach swimming and relaxing on sun loungers. Half board is highly recommended, especially if you do not have a car at your disposal, as dining options around the hotel are limited. I recommend this hotel 100%, but make sure you book a renovated room.
