Oběd a večeře byly chutné.

Where to start? The Pro's I guess. The room was large. Nice Big flat screen TV, but only Italian channels. No CNN or BBC. The pool is great! Salt water, no chlorine, and nice water jets you could turn on with the push of a button in several locations. The staff was very nice and eager to please. They brought us a small refrigerator for an extra charge within minutes of our asking for it. We swiped extra pillows from the maids storage room. We were embarrassed to ask as we had already pestered them numerous times after we checked in. The breakfast is adequate, with the typical European fare, but little variety. The other guests are very mature, to put it politely. Now the cons. The place is very dated. The bed is comfortable only if you like it rock-hard like I do. My husband did not. It is mid May, sweltering hot in the day and no a/c! The manager said they do not turn it on until June or July. He claimed that is throughout Italy, however, the antique a/c unit on the hotel next door was squealing, rattling and clacking all through the night making it difficult to sleep with the balcony windows and door open. There was a cluster of dead and dying bees on the bathroom floor when we arrived. I think they died of heat stroke. They were gone the next day, thankfully. No pool towels that we could find anywhere! We asked the people at the pool and they said they bring their own! The bath towels are large, but thin. Makes them dry fast, but they are not much use as pool towels. The WiFi is horrible, and they might as well not claim they have it. I invested in international data with my AT&T iPhone, which works great. I attached a photo of the lovely, noisy view from our balcony. We just completed our second night. We would have moved after the first night if we could have found a room nearby, but it is the high-season here and the more updated places are all booked. We are adapting, but we would not stay here again if we come back to the area. Period!

My husband and I were booked here for three nights and left after the first. It was really shabby and awful. Built in the early 60's I'd guess and nothing up dated since. The Hotel actually had two letters missing from the sign on the roof and the grounds were badly maintained. When we pulled into the drive there were about 40 white haired people sitting in a row by the front door some in wheel chairs and with walkers so we felt as if we'd arrived in an old age home. We got attitude from the night watchman when we asked to have the air conditioning turned on in our room, you can't just turn it on yourself. It laboured loudly all night and we still had a horribly muggy room. We arrived after 8.30PM and they had saveed us a salad, but they served it to us in a dining set for about 300 with only 2 chanedliers on so we sat in half darkness! It was awful and creepy. The worst of it was that the hotel across the street had a live lounge band that pounded away until after midnight. We waited until 12.15AM to complain and were assured that they normally stopped at midnight! When we complainted at the front desk the next morning the desk clerk said she didn't belive me! That's when we decided to leave! I would recommend avoiding Abano Terme entirely. The whole town is a just one cheezy fading 1960's and 1970's hotel after another which are packed with very elderly people on cheap spa package tours.
