Our experience in this hotel left much to be desired. Room was small with opaque glass walls on the en-suite bathroom which does not give any privacy! Good service at reception on arrival but thereafter the service delivered was appalling - staff were downright rude and lacked any kind of training. After several requests to speak to Alberto the owner he finally came to talk to us on our departure. Alberto apologised profusely and offered compensation which we agreed to. Our bank details were given to reimburse us for one night if our 2 night stay. Needless to say after many emails and excuses from this hotel, ie our accounts manager is off sick etc., we have never received any compensation. Extremely disappointed that we have been lied to - will never return and never recommend to anyone who likes to be treated with courtesy and honesty.

The Sunset is an excellent modern hotel situated on the seafront about 10 minutes walk from the town centre. Our room was comfortable and well-equipped with a nice balcony overlooking the sea, and there are several lounge areas, both indoors and outdoors. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were really good, with hot food being cooked to order rather than being kept warm on a bauffet - definately a plus point. The rooftop pool is stunning, with two infinity edges, and the tiing is coloured to match the sea, which almost makes you feel like the water extends into the sea. Just a few minor negatives: 1. There are 12 steps up to the entrance, with no lift or ramp. 2. Although we couldn't fault the cleanlines, there were a few minor maintenance issues, such as water damage to the wall adjacent top the shower. 3. There is a nightclub close to the hotel, with loud music playing until 3am. Fortunately it was only on Friday and Saturday and our room was well soundproofed. However, overall, staying at the Sunset Hotel was a great experience and we would certainly return there again

The jewel here is the vanishing edge rooftop pool with an incredible view of Cefalu beyond! Our room was on the small side, but did have a comfortably sized enclosed shower (which is rare) and was very clean! There are multiple lounge areas indoors and out, and the decor is modern and colorful. FYI, parking in the downstairs garage can be TIGHT if the hotel is full. What made our stay even more enjoyable was the kind attention of Nina, who greeted us at the front desk and made our 9 pm check in so easy; and the assistance of Salvatore, who made a room change simple and painless.

Ok hotel , not impressed. Beautiful pool area. Not what I would expect for the price per night. The hotel is about a mile from the historic center, which turned out to be a nice walk each day. There was a nightclub, right across the street that played loud music to 3 AM on a Tuesday !!
