Hotel Palace Viareggio

Nice experience. The building corresponds to the presentation on the hotel website. Old does not mean ugly and this place is the demonstration. Good work of restyling. The staff is professional and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. Good breakfast with a wide choice of food.

Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Each and every team member went over and above of our expectations. Well done to them all. So happy to have stayed there and will def return. Highly recommended. The breakfast is served in a beautiful large room where there’s plenty of choices. We had dinner in the deco restaurant on the ground floor of the building and each table was busy, a true credit to the outstanding hospitality.

Visit Via Reggio regularly - excellent base to visit Cinque Terre, Florence, Lucca, Pisa, Sienna - all easily accessible via trains, which are much more reliable and cheaper than the UK. Train station is 15 mins walk inland, straight down the road on which the hotel is located. The long promenade / beach is situated 25 yards over the road from the hotel. The best Italian cafe in Via Reggio is situated on the promenade 100 yards away - excellent food, cakes, drinks etc etc. There are also many restaurants to choose from for lunch / evening meals etc. The Hotel is authentic Italian decor - very clean. Rooms are spacious and well appointed - ours also had a lovely view. Nice bar situated£ just off the lobby - very welcoming and reasonably priced. Breakfast was very good - everything hot and cold that you could want. No hesitation in returning to this hotel on my next visit to Italy.

A lovely hotel. All staff super friendly and helpful. Our room looked onto a side street. Beach across the road from hotel. Room was clean and comfortable but could do with some modernisation. Looked worn. We also had some trouble with the water from the shower wetting the floor as the seal on shower door was not good. Mentioned this to staff but all that was done was move the shower head. This didn’t affect our stay. We ate one night in the rooftop restaurant this was great - food and view of sunset. The hotel must be highly commended for the quality and variety of foods at breakfast - hot/cold/sweet/savoury. Oysters were available one of the mornings. All food displayed beautifully and the breakfast room itself was just gorgeous. Some other areas to relax were also beautiful.
