My extremely honest review of my 2026 stay at Ocean Eden Bay in Trelawny, Jamaica. If a tourist or a local guest spends that much money at your hotel the quality of everything needs to be top tier. One should not have to be asking for things, it should be a catered to, relaxing escape in comfort. I upgraded to privilege and got the swim-out room. Please urgently execute maintenance on the rooms and facilities, as much seems to be deteriorating. It is unfair to charge such high prices when the quality is so poor. The Rooms 1. Slippers and bathrobes should always be available in all rooms, but most importantly in the Privilege rooms—we received none, we were told they were out and some were missing strings. Thank God for our butlers; they were EXCELLENT! (Romain and Chevoy). 2. Ensure all rooms have the Do Not Disturb sign; our room lacked one, and we received one two days after requesting it. 3. The Air Conditioning was very cold, which is good, but sadly we couldn't adjust it to our comfort. 4. In-room dining options, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, could be better. I understand you may not want to encourage it, but for Privilege rooms, these options should feel more special. Add more options. The worst area was the MAIN food hall—The Captain's Market. 1. The food presentation is not pleasing to the eye—very sloppy. 2. Ensure timely rotation of food trays; an empty tray should never be left visible to guests. 3. The food is very cold, proper warmers are needed so guests can be served a hot meal. 4. Once seated a server should attend to the tables in a timely manner; service was too slow some nights and mornings. Floor managers need to be more vigilant about this. 5. The JUICES - BAD!! We received syrup/concentrated mixes instead of what one expects in the Caribbean, like real orange juice. RIU Ocho Rios, which is way cheaper than Ocean Eden Bay has natural orange juice every single day. Their staff is excellent and very attentive. Ocean should outshine RIU, you should never fall below a cheaper hotel. Even boxed juice is way better than what was served. 6. The hall needs maintenance. 7. The workers don't look happy. Please treat and pay them better, this helps motivate them and encourages them to work harder. 8. The main hall lacked food variety—it was too basic with not many options to choose from. Again, RIU Ocho Rios beat OCEAN by far in this - The food all looked good, tasted delicious, and offered many options to choose from. 9. Ensure that all coffee being served is hot.! Please understand that I do love Ocean Eden Bay; it was a very nice hotel when I visited in 2025. I was surprised to see how much the place, the food and the service have changed. Thank God for Nichola, Romain, Chevoy, Nicole from Privilege and Danesha—they saved the day. I hope you will take all that I wrote into consideration so that the next time I visit, I will see improvements. If not, I will go elsewhere and encourage others to do the same.
Best and most enjoyable all inclusive i have experienced
Ryan was my butler and he was very kind, upbeat, and attentive throughout my stay. The best part was when available he would offer to bar and cart services.
As soon as you arrive you’ll be greeted like royalty. Having your bags taken and a complimentary drink served to you. I was checked in by the lovely Venus who explained the whole ordeal and answered all my questions at the front desk. Soon after I was escorted to my room which was fresh and clean with a fantastic view. Then I got a notification that my AWESOME personal butler Ryan would like to meet me. He was simply outstanding. He made sure that I had everything I need and was also given a complimentary bottle of wine. As I said the man was awesome. After Ryan shift was over I was introduced to the lovely Jodiann who also ensured that I had everything I need. The rooms was stocked with all the amenities i need like extra towels, rags, toothpaste, lotion, EVERYTHING. On top of that room service was taken care of everyday along with smooth room service deliveries. I enjoyed everything from the pool, lazy river, beach, disco, breakfast at the multiple options of restaurants and the dinner options are simply amazing. Even when it was time to check out, Jeffarine at the lobby bar made sure that I had a glass in my hand with my choice of drink. Just stupendous. I’ll definitely come again
There were some minor issues but important issues. Be very careful and asked “Detail” questions when booking an excursion. We were specifically informed that the price we paid for an excursion was $109.00 per person for 3 different events. When we took the bus to the excursion location, we were told that we could only do 2 events and not the 3. This is not cool. Got back to the hotel and directly spoke to the woman that gave us all the details and she blames us and states that we were wrong, the young lady flat out “Lied”. Asked for additional wash clothes and never got them. Overall the place was nice and lots of varieties of food to eat and many different restaurants to choose from. They have different events there on the resort but those were boring in a sense. Would I go back ? No, there are so many other places to experience in Jamaica. Still upset at the fact that the woman lied to us about the excursions
