We had a great time at Hotel Arena Castillo, we travelled as a family of 4 (2 children - 7Y and 3Y). The location of the accommodation is good, it's around a 10 minute walk to the beach, there are a few restaurants nearby which are good too, across the road is the Las Vegas restaurant which we went to quite a bit as the little one is very choosy with his food. The Arena Rock restaurant is attached to the hotel too which is slightly more expensive. If you would like to go to the water park in Corralejo, this is around a 40 minute drive, and the Oasis Wildlife Park is around a 45 minute drive. You can also walk to the marina which we did, this takes around 10-15 minutes. Conveniently, there's a small supermarket (Hiper Dino) across the road which is very useful! If you like to do some mini-golf when traveling, there's a good one near the beach, around a 10-15 minute walk from accommodation. If you want a bit of evening entertainment, I'd definitely recommend Piero's which is about a 2 minute walk from the mini-golf. We stayed in a superior family room (3101) which was on the ground floor. The room was very spacious and had all the necessary amenities, however, the biggest negative with the room is storage, it was very difficult trying to organise all our clothes into the small closet. To put this into perspective, on our final day, we used room 2111 for a few hours (smaller room) and this had a sliding wardrobe which much more storage, it didn't make sense! Also, there's not a lot of space in the bathroom / en-suite to store toiletries. Whilst in 3101, the cleaners came every day and ensured that the room was freshened up and cleaned; I don't think they swept the balcony area though, and although the floors were swept inside, they weren't cleaned every day. We had a few cockroaches on the first and second night, but reported this and the cleaners treated this on the 3rd morning, and no more cockroaches came back afterwards (expected on a ground floor in the canaries)! The pool area was excellent, the splash pad for the little ones is worth a particular mention, they thoroughly enjoyed this! The entertainment team during the day were very good, plenty of activities on with 'lazy games' and activities in the pool too (there's no evening entertainment). The pool bar had a selection of food and drink available, however if I'm being critical, it could benefit from offering more for little ones. If you smoke/vape, you will need to head over to the pool bar area for this. There were 2 lifeguards during our stay, the one that was there most of the time was excellent, he was very friendly and did his job properly; however, the other one (we only seen him once, on 7th August I believe) was hopeless. He spent more time playing on his phone and heading in and out of the indoor restaurant area than supervising what was happening in the pool - if anything happened, it would likely have been the parents on the loungers that would have reacted more quickly (not great)! I wouldn't say there's loads of sun loungers, and it's a bit of a rush, you can't go in the pool until 10:00, though I think you'd be lucky to get a sun lounger after 9:00. They are comfortable too which isn't always the case elsewhere and there's plenty of umbrellas. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, from the reception when we first arrived and checked-out, cleaners, on-site staff, entertainment, etc. €20 deposit for using the safe, and then a daily charge following this, and €10 deposit per person for pool towels (this is your own choice - you can use your own towels on the sun loungers if you want), you can take the pool towels back to reception and swap once used as many times as you need to throughout your stay. I can't think of much more to write, the hotel itself is very clean and modern! Overall, an excellent stay, I would definitely recommend this accommodation! I don't think we would return to Caleta De Fuste as a family as there's not loads to do! It's very quiet, but if that's what you prefer, this is probably one of the best accomodation options to choose!
Beautiful hotel with a great location. Breakfast was really good and the hotel's sports bar was a great place to spend time. Nice pool and the daily activities were varied and kept guests engaged and entertained. Staff were polite, professional and always willing to help.
Great place to stay apartments are lovely in a great location staff really helpful and friendly Joel the activities entertainer Is great he takes time to get to know everyone and joins in when he can Only downside is that you need to get down early to get a sunbed
Very good experience except for the sunbed situation around the pool. We stayed end of May & no problem, pool open at 10am which is a reasonable time. However, appreciate that we have just stayed in peak season, 15th - 19th Aug. The sunbed situation was rediculous! It is not meant to open until 9am, but people queing from 8.30 & then putting 12 towels out with nobody doing anything about it.I appreciate that people in a large group want to sit together, but that is rediculous especially when u are just a couple & cant get a bed by the pool.Dont get me wrong there are plenty of beds around the complex, but by the pool is limited.
Stayed here for 12 nights start of August. Overall good experience. Staff friendly especially the cleaning girls that cleaned my apartment. Reception staff very welcoming also Ideal position close to the beech and bars and restaurants. Lovely upstairs loungers if you want some quite from the pool area .Poolside food was nice also and very reasonable.. Didn't manage to get a sunbed every day despite been up before nine but did enjoy the jacuzzi and sun loungers upstairs. Overall good stay so thank you very much guys
