Arena Castillo Apartments

Beautiful hotel, with a small but perfect pool area lots of other areas to sunbathe, the rooftop terrace was a lovely place to relax with pre drinks before heading out to the restaurants nearby, all staff were welcoming and very accommodating. However this stunning hotel (through no fault of theirs may I add) is let down by the area around there are lots of places in desperate need of repair or updating. But the hotel couldn't be faulted excellent 👌

2nd stay here enjoyed it even more even if we weren't lucky with the weather. Lovely fella on reception we arrived early morning and got our room key soon after which was fab. Joel who looks after entertainment was great very engaging friendly and funny. Great aerobics in the morning and amazing sangria making. Just love the place. The only recommendations I could make are loungers on the balcony and maybe a hot tub session free per stay. Can't understand the €20 charge for that, never seen anyone in them but would be lovely particularly on cooler days. Will be back soon hopefully.

First time in the Arina Castillo and we all loved it. It’s such a clean and lovely hotel. The out side doesn’t let you see how big it is inside but it’s amazing. We will be going back here. All the staff are lovely. Joel the entertainer was great too. He was so friendly and my grandchildren loved him, they kept calling him their friend. 😃

Just spent a week at this complex. Very difficult to find any fault with this accommodation. Location is excellent & very quiet. We had a superior one-bedroom apartment - it was spotless, well-equipped for self-catering & bathroom had great shower. Cleaners replaced towels every day & cleaned floors etc a few times while we were there. Pool area is lovely and thoroughly cleaned every morning....pool bar does nice snacks for lunch. Guys on entertainment were very friendly. The roof-top bar was a lovely spot to have a pre-dinner drink...great views & cocktails. Staff we dealt with were so helpful & pleasant....our shower was slow to drain....they had maintenance up within 5 minutes to resolve the issue....very impressive! Only very small complaint.....please upgrade the pillows on the bed! Unfortunately, the area outside the complex and indeed in the resort generally was littered and badly needs regular cleaning. This is not any criticism of Arena Castillo but is not ideal in a tourist area or indeed permanent residents.

Stayed here from 19th Sept 2026 to 27th September 2026 (Apartments 4302 & 4303). There was Wlcome drinks in Reception on arrival, but there was none left and we arrived in a private taxi before the coaches. We did notice a hotel guest from the pool finishing the contents of the bottle. The Reception staff should stop this and ensure there are drinks on arrival. We had two Superior Apartments with balconies. Hotel condition was excellent, up to date and very clean. The Reception Staff, Bar Staff, Pool Staff and Cleaning Staff were all excellent. They all really put a lot into making guests holidays memorable and enjoyable. Check out the way the precision and alignment of the sunbeds and chairs after the pool area is closed and ready for the next day, amazing. What I could add, is that some exterior litter picking immediately outside and around the hotel perimeter could be done and the temporary wire fencing does not do the hotel justice. Everything we needed was in our apartments for self catering. The only negative I had was that the hotel wifi in the rooms were a bit sketchy, especially late at night. Wifi at the pool and outside areas during the day was acceptable. Not sure if they switch it off after midnight or something !! The adjoining Arena Rock Cafe was great for sports (TV's everywhere and showing everything). The staff and menus were very food. Not sure why on our arrival date that cocktails were not available until 4pm !! The hotel has a great Roof Bar Terrace, great Cocktails and Cava and you can watch the sunset. There are signs everywhere around the pool about guest leaving their towels on the sunbeds, this was happening every day and we saw the same guests doing it early morning and disappearing for ours, the staff should stop this. The pool had various activities such as Bingo, Quizzes with prizes and pool aerobics. Joel the entertainments guys was excellent, funny and friendly. There is also a room with two washing machines for doing laundry. The cleaning staff followed the Do Not Disturb Sign/Please do Housekeeping which you can hang on the door handle, but whoever designed this wooden sign did not try it out, because when it hangs on the door handle, it's hard to close the door, our sign snapped in half eventually. Our daughter had an issue with her door lock, called reception on the Apartments phone and there was a maintenance guy at the door within minutes and fixed it. This hotel is about 15 minutes from the airport, which was excellent for us and the main reason for picking this hotel and don't worry, you really cannot hear the planes above. There is a very small cupboard to put your cases in until you leave for the airport. Would we stay in this hotel again ? Absolutely YES.
