HD Parque Cristobal Gran Canaria

We recently stayed at Parque Cristóbal as a family of four with children aged 5 and 8, and overall we had a fantastic holiday. The accommodation was spacious, clean and well maintained, giving us plenty of room to relax as a family. Even although we were all inclusive the bungalow had a microwave, hob, Kettle and toaster which was a nice bonus. The entire resort felt safe and family-friendly, and the staff were welcoming and hardworking throughout our stay. The highlight for our children was definitely the splash park area. The family restaurant located there was really convenient during the day and offered a selection of salads, sandwiches, pizza, burgers, hot dogs, pasta and a few other options that rotated throughout the week. After seven days it can feel a little repetitive, but honestly our kids were more than happy with the choices available and always found something they enjoyed. Breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant were similar to other all-inclusive hotels we've stayed in. The selection could feel a bit samey by the end of the week, but there was enough variety that none of us ever struggled to find something to eat. We always left satisfied and there were options to suit both adults and children. The pools and facilities were excellent, with plenty to keep younger children entertained, and the atmosphere around the resort was relaxed and friendly. The location is also ideal, close to shops, restaurants and the beach while still feeling peaceful within the complex. Overall, Parque Cristóbal delivered exactly what we wanted from a family holiday. While some of the food options became repetitive after a week, the quality, cleanliness, child-friendly facilities and fantastic atmosphere more than made up for it. We would happily return and would recommend it to other families visiting Gran Canaria.

A Lovely Stay with a Few Areas for Improvement – 4/5 We recently stayed at this hotel for 5 nights as a couple and overall had a really enjoyable stay. We felt the hotel offered good value for money, had a great location and had plenty of positives, although there are a few areas where some small improvements could make a big difference. Room and Cleanliness We stayed in room 215, which is situated next to the tennis courts. The room was very spacious, with a separate lounge area featuring a sofa, fridge, dressing table, storage space, coffee machine and kettle. The bedroom had two single beds pushed together, along with a chair and wardrobe. The bathroom was well equipped with shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and a little bag containing useful extras such as a shower cap and toothbrushes. The shower itself was excellent, with two shower heads and really good water pressure. Outside, we had a lovely terrace with two chairs, a table, an umbrella and two sun loungers, which was a nice bonus. Overall, we were happy with the size and facilities of the room. However, it would be helpful if the room description made it clearer that the double bed consists of two single beds pushed together, as the beds were made up separately, which wasn't ideal for us as a couple. The sofa in the lounge also needed a good clean, and we had to speak to housekeeping after our coffee cups hadn't been changed for four days. As there was no kitchen or suitable place to wash them, this was a little inconvenient. We also paid €12 for the safety deposit box for our five-night stay. Aside from these small issues, the room was a good size, in a convenient location, and the overall standard of cleanliness was good. Food and Drink As someone who can be quite a fussy eater, I was pleasantly surprised by the food and really enjoyed the selection. There was always a good variety of salads and meats, and the children's section was particularly good, offering things such as pasta, sandwiches, chicken nuggets and sweets. The animal-shaped plates were also a lovely touch that the children clearly enjoyed. Our main criticism was the temperature of the hot food. Unfortunately, it was often cold or not as hot as it should have been. We also heard several other guests commenting on this during our stay, so it may be worth checking the heat lamps and food-warming facilities. This was a shame because the quality and variety of the food were otherwise very good. We only used the snack bar by the children's pool once, as it was a little walk from the main pool, but the food was nice and there was a good selection of familiar favourites, including burgers, hot dogs and sandwiches. Entertainment and Atmosphere This was probably the area where we felt the hotel could make the biggest improvement. During the day, the main pool area was quite quiet, with little music or atmosphere, and we didn't see much of the entertainment team apart from their short morning song at around 11am. When we did speak to the team, they were friendly enough, but a little more interaction and daytime activities would really help bring the pool area to life. The children's mini disco was good, and the team interacted well with the children during this part of the evening. However, we felt the entertainment afterwards could be improved. We stayed to watch the Grease show, but unfortunately the mimed songs made it difficult to enjoy, and some of the other evening entertainment, including a game show, didn't quite hit the mark for us. We think the hotel could really benefit from having more professional live singers, tribute acts or engaging evening shows after the mini disco. The hotel has a great setting, and better evening entertainment would help make the most of it. Another point worth mentioning is vaping around the pool, during entertainment and in the outdoor restaurant area. We noticed this happening quite frequently, including near other guests and even in the pool. We appreciate that everyone has different habits, but clearer enforcement of designated smoking and vaping areas would make the environment more comfortable for everyone. Bars and Sunbeds We decided to visit the sports bar downstairs one evening, but unfortunately waited around 15 minutes in an empty bar without being served. We appreciate that quieter areas can be difficult to staff, but it would be lovely to see this bar properly attended or for guests to know when service is available. On a positive note, we never struggled to find a sunbed at the main pool, and it was great not to have to deal with excessive towel reserving. This made relaxing by the pool much more enjoyable! Overall Experience Overall, we had a good stay and felt the hotel offered good value for money for our five nights. The spacious room, good food selection, lovely shower, convenient location and availability of sunbeds were all definite positives. We chose to give the hotel 4 out of 5 because we felt it was slightly above average and has plenty of potential to be even better. Improving the temperature of the food, evening entertainment, sofa cleanliness and attention to small housekeeping details would make a real difference to the guest experience. We would happily consider visiting again, particularly as we didn't pay a huge amount for our stay and the location suited us well. However, if we were paying significantly more, we would probably weigh up the overall experience a little more carefully. Thank you for a good stay. We’ve just had a fantastic 10-day family holiday at HD Parque Cristóbal Gran Canaria and would happily recommend it to other families. The hotel has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere and is well suited to families. The bungalows are spacious and well located around the grounds, giving us plenty of room and making it easy to get around the resort. The pool areas and facilities were great too, and we had a really enjoyable stay overall. The restaurant staff were always friendly and attentive, and we were made to feel welcome whenever we went for a meal. Although some of the all-inclusive food options did get a little repetitive over 10 days, there was still enough variety from day to day, and we always found something we enjoyed. What really made the holiday special for us, though, was the entertainment team, especially Claudea, Daniela, and Irene. We were over from Scotland with our two girls, aged 9 and 12, and the way these three took the time to get to know them was lovely to see. They were always friendly, full of energy and happy to have a laugh with the girls, making them feel included and helping them have an amazing time. Claudea built up a particularly lovely bond with both girls over the 10 days. They absolutely loved spending time with her, and it was clear how much they looked forward to seeing her. What really stood out was that it wasn't just when she was working with the children during organised activities. Even when the staff were having their own downtime, such as eating lunch in the diner, Claudea would still have a little joke with the girls, play around with them and have them laughing away. Those little moments meant a lot to us because she really didn't have to make that extra effort, but she did. Daniela and Irene were just as lovely with the girls, and we're so grateful to all three of them for the time and attention they gave them throughout our stay. As parents, there's nothing better than seeing your children having fun, making connections with people and coming away with happy memories. The girls had such a great time, and these three played a big part in that. It's easy to say that hotel staff were friendly, but the way Claudea, Daniela, and Irene genuinely made time for our girls is something we'll remember long after the holiday. We really hope the hotel recognises the effort they put in, because they made a real difference to our experience. All in all, we've had a brilliant holiday. The accommodation was great, the restaurant staff were lovely, and the hotel had everything we needed for a relaxing family break. But the highlight for us was seeing how happy the girls were and knowing that they'll come home with some lovely memories. A massive thank you to the team for everything you did for our two wee girls. You helped make our holiday that bit more special, and we'll always remember the laughs and the lovely bond you built with them. Hopefully we'll get the chance to come back again! ❤️🌟

The resort was well laid out and the rooms were nice. The Emblem rooms also come with spacious gardens, which we appreciated, although they do back onto the main road. The food was fine. There wasn’t a huge amount of variation from day to day, so it became repetitive, but for an all-inclusive it was acceptable. The pool rules, however, were ridiculous. We bought an inflatable crocodile from the shop attached to the resort. On day two, we were told that only rubber-ring inflatables were allowed in the adult pool. Fine, it's the adults pool - I get that. On day three, we were then told the crocodile wasn’t allowed in the children’s pool either! Apparently, it could only be used in the baby pool, which wasn’t deep enough to use it properly. Why sell an inflatable in a shop attached to the resort when there is effectively nowhere suitable to use it? At the very least, these restrictions should be explained when you buy it. It felt like a con and left a sour taste. The top end of the main pool was also taped off, with no explanation given to us. Housekeeping was another frustration, although the cleaning itself was great when it happened. Visits were sporadic, and despite our booking being for an Emblem room with young children, housekeeping repeatedly arrived very late in the day when the children were sleeping. The language barrier made it difficult to explain that the timing wasn’t suitable. A more practical arrangement would have made a real difference. The children’s entertainment was severely lacking. It largely amounted to a half-hour disco in the evening and the occasional daytime activity. We felt for the animation staff, who were trying to teach Spanish songs to a mixture of Dutch, German and English children, but we’d hoped for considerably more variety and interaction. For a family holiday, this was particularly disappointing. Acceptable food and good cleaning when it happened were positives, but the pool restrictions, housekeeping timings and limited children’s entertainment all detracted from our stay. These were frustrations that could have been addressed with clearer communication and better organisation.

De locatie was perfect! De supermarkt lag op slechts twee minuten afstand, en winkelcentra en bezienswaardigheden waren op loopafstand. Een ideale uitvalsbasis om de omgeving te verkennen! The location was perfect! The supermarket was just two minutes away, and shopping malls and attractions were within walking distance. An ideal base for exploring the area!
