We spent just 2 days at the hotel at the beginning of our family holiday. Upon arrival reception helped us with checking in and gave us all the info we needed about being half board. We were showed to our room which was large and had all the basics. Being around 12pm there was not one sunlounger available in the whole hotel. Sunbeds taken up by family’s with there kids when most of the time spent in the Pool. The areas around the pool was filthy! Hair, dirt and smell of sewage. Needs a good hose down and bleached. Beds were literally on top of one another and no where enough space for the amount of guests at the hotel. Went to get a drink from the bar and was charged to room, service was slow 1 guy behind the snack bar serving all guests. We opted for breakfast and dinner and glad we did! The snacks at lunch , boiled burgers and hotdogs cheese and ham toasties and minimal choice of salad. It gave us both upset stomach almost instantly. Evening dinner was fine, a fair bit of choice but wouldn’t want to eat here for more than 2-3 days! Dining hall was busy, tables not cleaned off and food everywhere on the floor. Staff were not that friendly or atleast try to engage in conversation with you. Noisy hallways at night, we had a ground floor room and heard chairs being dragged around until early morning. Water in the hot tubs was freezing and filthy with broken tiles. Positive my son who has Autism loved the dragon slides and didn’t want to leave. The life guards were great and patient with him! Hallways towards the splash park broken rock and dirty floors. Nice location , right on the beach but black sand and very rocky. The little shops and restaurants outside were lovely. Standards would need to improve to return.

Returned this month for our 4 visit to the hotel in 11 years. Over all we had a lovely holiday but the hotel is not the standard that it used to be. We had a 2 bedroom room in the family side of the hotel. Which is a 5/10 min walk to the main pool. However kids pools are minutes away. Rooms and grounds are immaculate. Food in the buffet restaurant was very nice and had lots of choice. Service lets this hotel down as It was chaotic and proved difficult to get a table that was cleared and set in the restaurant to eat at. Staff were over worked and clearly there wasnt enough staff to allow the resturant to run smoothly. It was hard to get staff attention to clear/set tables or to order drinks. Quite stressful at times when with a family. In previous years you would wait and have been directed to a table by staff rather than a chaotic free for all. Previously you could go to the Italian/Chinese restaurant as often as you liked, the quality of food in the Italian restaurant was fantastic and had a fantastic choice. However now you can only visit once as included. The food was pretty poor and the menu now had very little on it. Disappointing however it was a welcome change from battling for a table in the restaurant. Snack bar has moved position now and has less of a quality food and drinks and always a long Q to be served. Long walk from pool to bar. Coffee in the old snack bar was always freshly made, it’s now self service from a machine. Long gone are the delicious iced lattes 😢 The entertainment in the hotel has improved and there is a lot more going on around the pool. Entertainments and shows at night is better. Foam party at the pool was popular. Energetic entertainment team working hard. We did have a lovely holiday but just feel its dropped in standards and service over the years. There is now going to be further big changes in how this hotel is run that will require people to upgrade and pay extra to access specific areas/restaurants. I don’t think we will be returning based on the changes that are due to take place.

5th visit to hotel , not been since 2019 so didn't know what to expect, Firstly the hotel is spotless, rooms haven't changed at all , no snack bar at pool but this is getting done in November, Food is ok but has been better in the past , Italian was a huge let down , slow service , couldn't eat my steak , not much on menu compared to previous visits , entertainment was good first 2 nights , Monday & Tuesday, staff very polite , restaurant gets busy at lunchtimes waited a few times for a table to be cleared & set bit overall it was fine , would we go bk , yes but don't expect 5 star, more like a 4 star had a nice relaxing holiday

Hotel is beautiful. Spotlessly clean. Wide variety of food, although restaurant gets really busy at peak times. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Dragon pool is a big hit with the kids. And the mini disco, we don't put the children into kids club, just our preference, but others said they were great. It is very difficult to get a reservation in portadino restaurant, onsite. Most people seem to find it hard to navigate the hotel at first (getting lost) but you find short cuts and other ways and different lifts etc it's an adventure lol Would we come again, yes. Would we recommend, yes. But with all the changes coming into effect on 1st November, who knows what it will be like, hopefully it will be even better than it already is.
