Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso & Spa

Excellent hotel. Rooms kept spotlessly clean. Decent variety of food at mealtimes - you certainly wouldn't starve ! The Spa was an added bonus and the entertainment staff were full of enthusiasm and energy. A very relaxing stay and I hope to return next year. So there are some tiles missing on the pool and chairs in the show lounge could be refurbished but none of these directly affected my stay Well done all x

This is a review by a couple in our 30s. We were a little worried before going that we would feel a bit out of place as appeared the rest of the visitors were older. This isn’t the case. Yes there’s a lot of older people there and Saga do like to take over a bit but if you’re up for a laugh so are they. Transfer - was hell (nothing to do with the hotel) but if you are jet2 just get a taxi. It took forever to get to the hotel. Room - incredibly nice and modern. The bathroom in particular was impressive. We had a ground floor garden room and the sunbeds outside were a nice touch. I requested a pool view and we were in a great spot. Prestige - we went prestige. For us it was worth it as we took advantage of what was available. The wine menu in the restaurant was enough to make it worth it for us as I am a wine snob and the AI normal wine was awful. The prestige lounge was nice. Spa - a good addition. We went a couple of times and also had a massage which was very good. Entertainment - the staff work really hard. They are running around like crazy at the bars and restaurants and all with a smile on their faces. We enjoyed the shows, 9:15 could be a bit late for mini disco but as we had no kids with us it made no difference to us. The show starts at 10 and goes on for about an hour. Again could be longer but we quite liked that there was no rush to go for tea on an evening. Food- the restaurant was hit and miss. Even in the prestige bit sometimes it was chaos. We did like the food though and thought it varied enough. We would definitely return

Stayed here a week and found this hotel lovely and very deserving of its 4 star rating. Rooms modern and roomy and cleaned everyday. One 2 hr visit to the spa which was lovely. Entertainment every other night in the piano bar was classy, with varied entertainment every night in the other big room. Plenty of choice food wise and found the little touches such as Bloody Marys at breakfast and a real honeycomb dripping into a bowl very nice. Staff on the whole were great and pleasant with the one exception one evening in the restaurant when our attempts to get attention were ignored. The hotel put on a free shuttle bus on 3 times a day to Puerto del Carmen and there’s a great little market down at the marina twice a week. The resort itself is quite quiet but upmarket with some lovely bars and restaurants on the front which is only a 5 min walk away but a bit tough for anyone with mobility issues coming back up the hill to the hotel. The lower pool looks a little tired with some tiles missing but we always stayed by the upper pool near the restaurant and there were plenty of summers whatever the time of day. Great hotel and I would definitely consider returning.

We have just come back after a week with my husband and my dad. My husband and I have been about 7 times (we have lost count). We come for the relaxed vibe. We were disappointed with our rooms last year but we emailed in advance and the hotel staff gave us 2 fantastic rooms on the 5th floor. They also gave us a lovely surprise with cava and chocolates in the room which was a nice touch. We had AI and enjoyed the drinks, especially the frozen Pina Coladas. I know people have mentioned in the reviews about parts of the hotel looking shabby but the works are ongoing and phased. All the staff were very friendly. We will be back next year.

Myself and my partner stayed here June 2026. The hotel itself is great for location. It’s a stone throw away from Puerto Calero port offering bars/restaurant options. The hotel is about 13 minutes from the airport if you had a private transfer. It’s a quieter hotel, there are reps around the hotel who put on games, aqua aerobics, bingo etc. If you’re looking for a lively hotel with music around the pool, this hotel probably isn’t for you. However this doesn’t take away from the fact it is a lovely hotel, great location, great food and friendly staff. Food is good quality. We found the options a tad repetitive but never the less the quality was great. The hotel does need some touch ups around the bottom pool. Would be handy to have wristbands instead of key cards to check in for breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks etc. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again!
