The Salmar

If you want a peaceful, relaxing holiday then The Salmar is the place to go. All guests were greeted with a smile and a complimentary glass of fizz on arrival. The hotel itself is spotless with staff cleaning the interior and exterior to a high standard. Rooms are a decent size and well equipped. There is a games room with pool table and a library complete with a turntable and vinyls. Great choice of food for breakfast with eggs cooked to order whether it be poached, fried, boiled, omelette. Good value for money. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lovely coastal walk right outside the grounds and close to supermarket and restaurants. Peaceful, quiet area during the day and also at night. The pool is lovely with lots of sunbeds and chairs available. Outside areas also spotless and pool is cleaned every night. The hotel is new and I believe there will also soon be spa treatments and a gym. Wonderful hotel and the staff are fantastic, they are a credit to the hotel. Would recommend!

Cleaning staff, very attentive, rooms were cleaned everyday and to a high standard, when I said leave the room as its doesn't need cleaned, always asked if I needed fresh towels, and would've been happy to clean the room. Overall fantastic hotel, cleanliness of hotel amazing, room view as it said, sea view. Value, for 10 days, I couldn't get some hotels in York or London for what I paid as a solo holiday... Wow! Cannot recommend The Salmar enough. If you are looking for somewhere quiet for an adults only escape this place is fantastic. Be quick while it's still quiet! The refurbishment has been done to a high standard. The place is spotless throughout and the staff are all lovely. Despite the ongoing works on some floors and areas of the hotel there is no real disruption during your time there. The breakfast buffet opened whilst we were there (had a menu to order from for our first two days). Plenty to choose from and everything brand new and shiny! The evening restaurant looked lovely too but can't comment on food as we chose to eat elsewhere. Our room was the most basic option in terms of size, but still felt luxurious and the view from the balcony overlooking the pool and the sea was fabulous. If you can afford the upgrade for a larger balcony I'm sure it's worth it, but not strictly necessary. Location is great too. The small square of shops, bars, restaurants and the supermarket are practically on the doorstep - although this area does feel quite 'touristy'. For a more authentic experience walk the coast path the 10 minutes or so it takes to reach Los Abrigos. Take your swim gear for a dip in the harbour there with the locals, but watch out for the turtles and the stingrays! There is only one thing that could be improved on at The Salmar in my opinion. At least twice I saw other guests being served drinks at poolside in glass - despite the poolside sign saying glass was not allowed. I know it's an adults only and we should be trusted with a glass, but accidents happen (and in such a windy location too) so this seems like a completely unnecessary risk.

A little bit of heaven...now my favourite spot to chill snd relax as a solo traveller! From check in to check out my holiday was fabulous: friendly, accommodating staff, impeccably clean suite and well appointed 'select' room with pool/sea views. Restaurant provided an ample variety of produce to suit all palates- cooked breakfasts, continental, fruits, cereals, yogurts, breads and pastries. Poolside bar served a good range of drinks and snacks/ meals until 5pm. No sunbed wars which was a delight. Beautiful pool setting with comfortable loungers. House keeping is excellent with rooms serviced daily. Each room is equipped with fridge, microwave, coffee maker and kettle. Large flat screen Smart TV facing large comfortable bed with very sumptious pillows and bedding.Fresh towels daily and pleasant range of toiletries supplied. Hotel is set in a quiet resort with appealing coastal views and paths to take in. San Blas precinct is directly infront of hotel where you will find all your essentials..supermarket, perfumerie, bars and restaurants. Easy access to bus routes leading into larger resort of Playa de las Americas. Overall a very peaceful stay far from noise, hustle and bustle of more raucous resorts. Came home feeling very refreshed and cannot wait to return in the very near future.

The Salmar is a relaxing, peaceful, adult only hotel. The hotel sits overlooking the ocean with fabulous views from the rooms. You feel like you are on a cruise ship when sat on the balcony listening to the water crashing into the rocks. The room had fantastic amentities with a fridge/microwave/coffee machine and much more. Newly decorated with a sea theme and spotlessly clean. Pool robes/towels and baskets were handy to use. The pool and terrace had fantastic views too of the sea. The lounge area was spacious and cosy. A jacuzzi and sauna are set on the balcony again with the sea view. At breakfast there was a fabulous choice and the terrace served delicious bar food until 5pm. Staff were very friendly. The airport is nearby, but this didnt stop us having a pleasant nights sleep. Infact we enjoyed watching the planes landing/taking off. Camarote restaurant adjacent, served esquisite food and wine. The hotel certainly was value for money. I gave a 4 rating as i would've liked to have swam for longer in the evening, and food served later, but that would certainly not put us off coming back! A much needed relaxing holiday we certainly had!
