The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort

We chose this hotel to celebrate my sister’s graduation and expected a relaxing luxury experience, but unfortunately the experience was far from that. We stayed awake until 3 AM because of bugs inside the villa. We had to call reception four separate times, and each time it was because a new bug appeared in the room. What made the situation even worse was that housekeeping sprayed insecticide inside the villa without asking for our permission first, despite the fact that we have a 6-month-old baby and I suffer from asthma. This was completely unacceptable and very concerning for our health and safety. After finally managing to sleep, housekeeping entered the villa again around 9 AM without permission and started opening bedroom doors, waking everyone up. At the very least, they could have cleaned only the living room area without disturbing guests. Reception tried to apologize by offering breakfast in the villa, but honestly, after staying awake until 3 AM and barely sleeping, being expected to wake up early for breakfast was not a real solution. To make matters worse, when we later asked about the breakfast, no one even seemed to know anything about it. I have attached photos of some of the insects we found inside the villa. For a hotel that presents itself as a luxury destination, this experience was exhausting, poorly managed, and far below expectations. It is a shame that what was supposed to be a special family celebration turned into such a stressful and uncomfortable stay.

Eva & Ernesto were just wonderful in assisting me with the spa facilities and directions. Their hospitality was very warm and friendly.

I was visiting Qatar towards the end of April, and was looking for a romantic and memorable spot to propose to my girlfriend. I have only been here a few times and am not familiar with the area. I was able to book a bungalow with Marsa Katara to facilitate an incredible proposal. Specifically, I worked with William at Marsa Katara to get everything set up, and he was absolutely amazing to work with. He answered all my questions to help me get things right, provided excellent guidance, and went out of his way to ensure our bungalow would be completely private and undisturbed by other guests. I highly recommend this place, and if you get the chance to work with William he will go the extra mile to help ensure your stay is perfect!
