Extremely Disappointing, Deceptive, and Poor Value I specifically booked Zenit Hotel Resort & Spa for an overnight stay during my drive from Slovakia to Croatia because I needed daily swimming for physiotherapy. Their website and booking sites advertised a large swimming pool and spa services—none of which were actually available. Rooms: The room itself stank of cigarette smoke. The entire property felt run-down, and the air quality in the spa area was terrible—a strong smell of mold. Spa/Pool Facilities: The main swimming pool was completely drained and empty—nowhere on their website, on booking confirmation, on the phone, or at check-in did anyone mention this. The so-called “hot tubs” or “spa pools” inside were barely lukewarm, shallow (water only up to your mid-calves), and totally useless for swimming or relaxing. The outdoor “hot tub” was so cold you’d freeze trying to use it, despite being described as “heated.” This hotel’s spa services are basically useless. Service: When I raised the issue with reception, explaining that I booked this hotel solely to use the pool, they said, “Talk to the manager in the morning—we’ll try to arrange a partial refund.” In the morning, after three layers of “management,” they refused even a token gesture of 10 or 20 euros as compensation. No refund, no apology, no basic customer care. Value: It’s more expensive than similar properties in the region, and for what you get, it’s an absolute waste of money. The management clearly doesn’t care about guest experience or honesty in advertising. Bottom line: Avoid at all costs. There are better, cheaper, and more honest hotels in the area. I would never stay here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone—especially if you need proper spa or swimming facilities.

We have visited the Hotel several times, every visit was a pretty satisfying experience. Nice hotel with fantastic view about 500 metres from the Lake Balaton, helpful and flexible staff, wonderful dishes, a huge and perfect wellness centre.

Cannot really say anything good about this place. First of all there was no AC in our room (unlike promised), so we had to change rooms mid trip because in the 38 degrees the room felt extremely humid and uncomfortable to sleep in. Communication was difficult since none of the staff members we encountered spoke any english neither smiled and when asked "do you speak english?" the reply was either the word "German" or a shoulder shrug. Fortunately my partner spoke Hungarian, but even then all questions where answered in a very rude way, definitely could not imagine being in a 4* hotel. The spa was also not worth visiting, couple of saunas and two swimming pools. Outside jacuzzi looked cool, but unfortunately did not have any water inside... Staff at the spa did not speak any english either and definitely did not smile. All in all this hotel is not worth visiting again, it is sad because the views are great!
