Dean’s Home Budapest

This hotel is in a good location, close to the metro station but as it’s the student district lots of the places to eat that are mentioned on the website are closed at the weekend. The spar next door is quite handy. And the room has plates and bowls which came in use due to not having much choice around the hotel for food. Breakfast we found was okay especially given what we paid but small tweaks like cold milk for cereal or the hot plates keeping food warm would make this much better. Our room wasn’t overly clean and needed a good dust and a mop. The room is not cleaned whilst you’re there unless you do over 4 nights and you have to pay if you want it cleaned or new towels. It was also 25.5 degrees with the radiator blasting. We did report this and someone came and fixed it but the room never got below 22 degrees even with the window open. If we did open the window we had cigarette smoke come billowing in as we were above one of the entrance ways and lots of people smoked directly outside. We chose not to drink the tap water and glad we didn’t as on our last day a small bug came out the tap. For what we paid it was an okay stay but things like cleanliness need addressing and it was something I had high expectations of given the reviews.

Back yesterday from Deans Home (8th nov '25). Really pleased with the acommodation. It is clean, warm and comfortable, slept really well. Nice modern room with great shower. Lication is excellent, 2 minutes from the excellent Metro station, you will be in the city in minutes. Very quiet at night, never heard a thing, and staff helpful and friendly. Would definately stay here again.

Staying at Dean’s Home was overall a good experience. The staff is very friendly, and the breakfast is fresh, although it could benefit from more variety and a slightly larger, more comfortable space. The rooms were okay, but it felt like the cleaning was done a bit rushed and could have been a bit cleaner. The area is excellent - safe and close to public transport. Since many students stay here, there can be some noise at night. Despite these small issues, I would definitely stay here again and give it another chance.

Booked a 3 night stay in Budapest which is a fantastic city to take a mini break in with so many things to see and do. We didn't realise when we booked the trip that we would be staying in student accomodation which is what Dean's Home is. I suppose at best the accomodation served a purpose as we only used it for sleeping. The rooms are equipped with 2 plates, 2 bowls etc along with a microwave & double hob but no kettle !!! Fire alarm went off on first morning at 6.30am. The lay out was what you would expect of student accomodation. Breakfast was basic with limited cooked option. Would definately visit Budapest again but will not be staying here again

The hotel was perfectly located, and overall, we had a great time. There was a small issue with my gluten-free diet at breakfast, but Soma was really helpful and made sure everything ran smoothly after that. Even when we got fined on the tram on our first day, he explained everything. After that, we had no issues at all with public transport. Nothing too fancy, but a very decent stay.
