Reethi Faru Resort

My wife and I spend our honeymoon at the Reethi Faru, and we had a great time. The island itself is unbelievably beautiful and it’s like you are living within a postcard. We stayed in an awesome beach pool villa and we were stunned. Everything was incredibly beautiful, from the open-air bathroom to the direct beach and reef access. The service was outstanding, always quick and very organised. As special highlight was the service during all meals. Since my wife has celiac disease, we had to be very cautious regarding gluten-free options. Before every meal, we were welcomed by a chef, who showed and explained all celiac friendly options, and cooked additional meals especially for my wife (without us asking for it), so she could enjoy all possible options. Especially, Sous Chef Rajesh surprised us with an outstanding service, since he prepared meals for my wife basically every single day. Even when we didn’t eat at the main restaurant, the service was great. At the “vegetarian an vegan” resort, chef Soürav took extra time and effort, to answer additional questions we had and prepared an awesome dinner. Besides eating and enjoying our honeymoon, we enjoyed the huge house reef and saw plenty different types for fish while snorkelling. We also took the chance to swim with manta rays and spot dolphins, as we took part in some of the many water sports activities. The only thing that wasn’t perfect, was the gym since most of the machines were quite old and not working smoothly. Thus, we would recommend everyone to stay the Reethi Faru, and just enjoy the great resort and the outstanding service!

We are travelling with a sick kid and were a little cautious in managing him. Since we have landed on the island, the kitchen service has been exceptional. They have catered to our kids requirements so well that we didn't have to plan anything. The variety and options for food are amazing. Friendly chefs and staff have made our holiday memorable for years to come. Would certainly recommend as a place to go to.

Booked with Angelfish Travel In the UK who were superb from start to finish with their great advice and personal service. A postcard when you get home is a lovely touch. Their ground handlers Hummingbird were also fantastic at Male airport and so supportive. Travel/ transport Travelled with Virgin - flights booked independently with reward points Transferred to standard lounge. Reethi Faru doesn’t have its own lounge at the seaplane terminal. It seemed a long wait - 2 hours - until flight was called . Other resorts we have been to had their own private lounges and these were nicer. We were unaware what time was our scheduled departure which made it feel longer . Welcome Great welcome at the island and everything well explained . Lovely welcome drink and cold towel. We booked a beach villa and the full dine around package . This was all fully explained so we knew exactly what was included. Had asked for a villa in the 350s but were allocated 328. However this was a perfect location for us. To be honest I don’t feel there was a bad location of villa. Restaurant booking - you need to book the à la carte restaurants so we block booked for a few days. Very easy to do at reception and we were able to get exactly what we wanted for each evening. Room service Luggage was really quick to the room and we met our room boy Rajid who was great throughout and explained how we should get our mini bar restocked - part of the dine around. He was very good and always very friendly and helpful. He did us some towel art towards the end of The holiday and also a welcome and happy birthday with the flowers on the bed. He was very personable and incredibly good at his job. The island Island is beautiful. You can nearly walk all the way around on the beach - just one part we couldn’t get through near the pool villas. There are sandbags on that part of the beach where there has been some erosion but I don’t feel this detracts from the beauty of the island. House reef in this area was very good and hubby enjoyed the snorkelling here. Food Food superb! They suit all tastes - if you want a burger or pizza it’s there but they also have plenty of local flavours and the curries are fabulous. No fresh prawns or other such delicacies that others describe ( I assume that’s the difference between a 5 star and a good 4 star) but overall I found the food to be excellent! Anything is better than cooking and washing up yourself right? The overwater tends to be international food so you can get pizzas pastas burgers grills and seafood . Reethi Grill has Indian curries and grills both meats and fish. All menus are online and give a good idea of what you can have . Buffet has a theme every night and they always seem to have Maldivian options too. We didn’t dine there in the evenings but did do lunch a few times . Always good salads, pastas and grilled options. Good service from waiters for drinks and clearing tables. There is also a veggie and vegan restaurant - we ate here just 1 evening, great food but service was slow, they advised that it was because there was no sous chef that evening . We were only advised of this at the end of the meal. There is also a further chargeable restaurant - that is payable even if on dine around package. Again menus online. We didn’t try this one - the setting looked good but no better than Reethi Grill in our view. All inclusive dine around With the dine around as well as the all inclusive drinks ( blue on the menus) there are also a selection of wines you can get by the bottle. ( again blue on the menu) Not all were available so we tended to stick to a couple of the roses or a red each evening with our dinner. Final night was also my birthday. The staff in Reethi Grill were fabulous! We got the ‘ best table’ with flower decoration and we also got a birthday cake with candles and they sang to me. It made the holiday and really made me feel special. Diving and snorkelling My husband dived and snorkelled and said the reef was very good compared with others he has dived. The dive team are excellent. Holiday overall Excellent- was very pleased with the choice of the island. We would definitely return and maybe wouldn’t do the dine around as we felt the buffet was very good - we would then just pay for a couple of evenings in Reethi Grill. Would also look to stay in a water villa next time too as a change of perspective . All in all a great island with superb staff providing an amazing service.
