Seaview Hotel - Adults Only 16+

All in all a lovely hotel with friendly accomodating staff. Hotel is clean, spacious and the reasonably priced cocktails are great. Food (buffet style) was plentiful, large variety at breakfast and dinner. There is an ala carte restaurant (Asian) onsite but this is NOT included in package holidays (for half board etc) Hotel is situated just across the road from the promenade - great views Hotel is ENORMOUS (10 floors!) looks like a cruise liner! Roof top pool looks amazing but sadly far too busy every time we attempted to go. (So we left it) and all the sun beds and chairs were all taken. There is a gym (mostly empty) Local area is disappointing. Really rocky beach (doesn’t look nice) Cars drive onto the beach! Everywhere so brown and dismal, we avoided. At nighttime everywhere comes alive , is loud and brash (not to my taste) And yes a resident dog does bark a lot…..day and night 😬 Overall the hotel is lovely (although far too busy, 100% occupancy) Local folk are VERY friendly!!!! (And most talk English) BOLT taxi’s are the way to go here (download the app - book and go) are reasonably priced and are generally prompt! AVOID the drop on and off open top buses. They work out dear, are often late (leaving you waiting sometimes for an hour) and are RAMMED! (Really unpleasant way of travelling)

Let’s start with the good shall we… Really quickly checked in on arrival and given a room straight away. Free wifi throughout the hotel. The breakfast was well stocked, I had emailed in advance of my dietary restrictions with being gluten free and they accommodated it. They had gluten free bread, cereal and occasionally a gluten free brownie / cake type product at breakfast when I asked. The breakfast buffet was also labelled with allergens which was super helpful. The hotel was spotless throughout and clearly it gets well looked after as the communal areas were as clean as the rooms. The gym was ideal for what was needed. (dumbbells, mats, treadmill, bike, rowing machine, elliptical, cables and a smyth machine!) The indoor pool was clean. I can’t comment on the spa treatments as whilst I had good intentions of booking one, I never got round to it. The infinity pool was beautiful. There definitely needed to be a bigger area for the size of the hotel though and potentially more shade options as the wind in Malta is very deceiving and you can soon burn! Negatives were very similar to what other people have mentioned… The noise from nine lives was bonkers - take earplugs. It did finish at about 11 but for those of us who like an early ish night it wasn’t ideal. The beds were on the firm side but fully appreciate that this is a very personal choice. The actual bed linen etc was spotless! The bottle of water in the room would have been nice to have replenished every day really given the fact that it wasn’t a “cheap” hotel. The shower door was also very leaky! Clearly the seal had been removed - it needs replacing! The coffee machines at breakfast weren’t great, they were fresh bean coffee but you didn’t get a decent cup full. I took my own coffee purely due to preference. It was however in a really good place for the port, the bars and amenities around it. The promenade outside the hotel made for a fabulous running route. The aquarium and the motor museum were great visits for an hour nearby out of the sun!

This is a lovely hotel, very well placed for a short walk to the central bus depot where you can pick up a bus to each part of the island. The infinity pool is spectacular and the water temperature is on the colder / more refreshing side. Breakfast is very good although the bacon was often cold😟 The room was spacious and well equipped with English style plug sockets, which was handy. Great shower. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. Downsides: On returning to our room each evening there was the most horrendous smell in our room, similar to drains which went after we opened the doors and blasted the air conditioning for a while. Being directly opposite the beach loud booming music plays all day, every day until 11 pm, which reduced when closing the patio doors but could still be heard. This was often accompanied by a dog barking continuously. We had a side room which with a partial view of the sea and lower rooftops. Our view was of broken pallets, old paint containers and dead flowers in flowerpots. Whilst the hotel is lovely I would not choose to stay again.

Good location. We had a side, sea view room, very spacious and clean. Bed was firm, but fine for us. Staff were great, always on hand to help. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Breakfast was a good selection and very nice. Didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening, so unable to comment. Rooftop terrace and pool very nice, as was the steam room and indoor pool. Nice to relax after a day sightseeing. Got the ferry to Sliema, which was great, only 5 mins walk away from the hotel. Then changed to another one for Valetta.

We stayed in a sea view room which needs some TLC. The shower leaked over the bathroom floor when in use as the seal had gone and had obviously been a long standing issue due to the mould on the sealant. The room itself was spacious and was cleaned daily and with some minor updating it would be a wonderful room. The extending magnifying mirror in the bathroom is of no use unless you are 6 ft 5in and over due to its height and needs to be readjusted as I have never seen one placed at that height before. People have already commented on the noise and it is a very busy road outside of the hotel with cars speeding up and down playing music at such high decibels it actually drowns out the music from Nine Lives when they drive through. The music from Nine Lives usually stops around 11:00 pm but on Saturday night it went on later than this. If you enjoy ‘people watching’ from your balcony this is the place for you, as well as noise from Nine Lives and traffic, you get people shouting whilst walking past until after midnight is another frequent noise. The outside pool on floor 10 is a medium size pool with sun beds crammed round it. There is only one shaded area for certain sun-beds as there are no parasols, as there’s no room, so if you are not fortunate to get one of these beds make sure you top up on your sun cream as the sea breeze makes it seem cooler than it actually is. We used the Spa whilst here and I would say this is well worth a visit we found it very professional and clean, we had a deep tissue body massage. The saunas were also great and the indoor pool, there is also a gym which we didn’t use but looked well equipped. Breakfast is your usual streaky bacon, different kinds of eggs, grilled tomatoes and beans. Then there is the meatballs, sour cabbage and other items we wouldn’t necessarily have on a breakfast but they are catering for all different nationalities. There is also a continental selection of breads, meats and cheeses as well as cereal, fruit, yoghurt and pastries and even cake. There is a TV in the room but very limited channels. There are several restaurants nearby and I have reviewed the ones we ate at. The square is still under construction. We have stayed here a week and the staff are friendly but we won’t be returning.
