This hotel is very well placed for exploring Valletta. A short walk from the major attractions and with good restaurants next to the entrance. However this does come with some disadvantages as Valletta is well on the way to becoming Party Central. So choose your room with care. The photos and videos used as promotion by the hotel are very optimistic. The sweeping entrance and reception is actually quite small. The rooftop swimming pool is also small with cramped sunbed space. You have to walk through the dining room to access it (in your dressing gown). Our room was on the 4th floor and it had a view of offices about 6m away and nothing else. So choose your room carefully as it is worth paying extra for a better view. The judicious use of mirrors made it appear larger than it was and there was little shelf/table space. The bathroom had a large luxurious shower and the cleaning service was good. The bed was comfortable but the room was not really a pleasant place to linger and relax. At night it was impossible to stop light coming in despite only having a small window. There was also quite a lot of noise unless the windows were shut. We ate on the rooftop terrace. There are outstanding views here across the ports so arrive early for breakfast to secure an outside table. The breakfast is very good indeed with a wide selection of hot and cold food - indeed one of the best breakfasts that I have tried. You can book lunch and dinner here also which is well worth experiencing. Service in the restaurant is efficient with food delivered and tables cleared quickly. However, with notable exceptions, it is certainly not service with a smile - or in many cases any conversation. To some extent this permeates the whole hotel. There was a considerable delay with checking in mid-evening when we arrived. The night before departure I tried to pay the balance of the bill but was told this was not possible - not very helpful. I went to the reception early the next day and settled the account. An hour later we left and I dropped the key cards off at the desk in their envelope to who may have been the manager. Walking off with our luggage I was aggressively shouted at "Hello. Hello. What is your room number" in front of all the other guests. Embarrassing and uncalled for as I pointed out the room number was displayed on the key card envelope. All these issues can easily be addressed with staff training. So overall a decent hotel with some excellent features but flawed.
Hidden gem in the heart of Valletta. Roof top pool and roof top bar and restaurant offering incredible views. Staff are extremely helpful especially Abeer the front office manager. She went out of her way to ensure we had the best experience ever. A note of warning :please make sure you book the restaurant and roof top bar in advance. It’s very popular with non residents.
Super hotel with great rooms in a central location
This was a lovely and extremely well run hotel in the middle of Valletta, close (walking) to all of its sites and eateries. The front desk clerk, Abeera, was smart, kind, resourceful, knowledgeable and patient helping us navigate transportation choices and eating. The rooftop restaurant was top-drawer food with exquisite views of the cathedral and the sea beyond, with a comfortable and pleasant rooftop pool at which one can eat and drink while sunning in chaise lounges, served by a skillful wait staff. Recommend highly.
Excellent stay in Valletta! Perfect location, lovely rooms and great service. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a hotel in Valletta city centre.
