⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Fantastic Stay at Xemxija Bay Hotel – Amazing Staff, Food and Facilities! We’ve had such a wonderful experience at Xemxija Bay Hotel in Malta, and we really want to give a special mention to two amazing members of staff: Lal Binam, the chef, and Rajesh, the barman. These two have been absolutely fantastic! Their kindness, friendliness and genuine hospitality have made our stay extra special. They go above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and it’s clear they take real pride in what they do. The food has been wonderful, and the seafood platter they served us deserves a special mention! It was such a lovely part of our experience and made our time here even more memorable. A big thank you to Lal Binam for the care and effort that goes into the food. The hotel gym has also been amazing! It’s a fantastic facility to have while on holiday, allowing us to keep up with our fitness routine while still enjoying our break. It’s been a real bonus and has added even more to our overall experience. What really makes this hotel stand out, though, is the people. Lal Binam and Rajesh have made us feel so welcome through their warmth, friendliness and outstanding service. People often remember a holiday for the places they visit, but it’s the people who make it truly memorable, and these two are a perfect example of that. We sincerely hope the management at Xemxija Bay Hotel recognises these two wonderful employees for their hard work and dedication. They are a real credit to the hotel and deserve every bit of recognition. Thank you, Lal Binam and Rajesh, for making our stay so enjoyable. ❤️ Amazing food, a fantastic hotel gym, wonderful hospitality and staff who genuinely make a difference. We couldn’t ask for more! Five stars from us! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great service! All the staff were very friendly, polite, and helpful. Overall, it was an excellent experience. I really appreciate the hospitality and would definitely recommend this place to others.
Nice food &Drinks , We enjoy it 😊 Nice pool
On arrival the room we had was terrible asked to be moved and was not suitable for three people - at first wanted to charge us and we had to go through all the evidence of what we had booked in the first place the pictures did not match what was advertised. They did move us to another room - this room was so so but again not what was advertised On our day of leaving 4 other people had exactly the same issue I would only rate a two star You cannot pay in euros for anything in the hotel it’s card payments only Conscience store is close by for essential items plenty of restaurants near by or a short taxi ride via a company called bolt which is reasonable I would not stay again Rooms need a revamp not clean First day of arrival the fridge broke so we had to get a new one Balcony area very dirty along with the rooms Staff happy to help but sorry would not visit again
Overview, we booked with TUI as a package as the price and flight times were reasonable for a ten day stay on a B&B basis. It is always difficult to judge accurately from reviews exactly what a hotel will be like and sometimes it is reading what is not said and taking a balanced view of all the reviews and for those negative ones, exactly what the issues were. Immediate impression was of a hotel that was adequate as a base for touring the islands along with a little time around the pool. On checking which was swift and efficient we were allocated room no. 501 which has an old-fashioned kitchenette crammed into the bedroom that contained twin beds – we were moved to 505 the following day which was much larger and completely acceptable. There are however signs of a fair amount of wear and tear in the rooms and general dilapidation but we did have working air conditioning, ceiling fan and a fridge so not too bad for three-star establishment rooms. Breakfasts, very disappointing – usual choice of cooked foods, the only variation was if it was fried or scrambled eggs – no option for poached or omelettes and a lack of fruit other than melon was made available. The biggest issues were luke-warm food and freezing cold plates to put it on so effectively cold breakfasts, this was mentioned to staff but little action was forthcoming and one day a fresh tray of fried eggs came out of the kitchen completely cold! Pool area – this is located just across from reception outside the hotel – it is kept very clean and tidy with pool cleaning witnessed every day (the pool looks grubby but it was just the paint has worn off in places), plenty of sun-beds and parasols but some were in poor condition which was in keeping with the rest of the place. The pool looked dirty but this is just the pool pain wearing off. The Good • Helpful friendly staff, especially Jo. • Lots of hot water in rooms. • Clean bedding. • Room service. • Pool area and bar. • Location, close to a couple of local restaurants and bars plus close to regular and cheap bus services. • Close to Roman dwellings, caves and trail – it’s a must do and just short walk up the hill. • Plenty of parking. The less good bits • Rooms and public areas are very tired and dilapidated in places. • Some rooms have old fashioned kitchenettes crammed into the bedrooms – rather odd! • Towels in the rooms – old and stained, obviously they have been laundered but they still look grubby. • Pool towels – small, old and rather thin, not the best (€5 deposit each). • Rooms safe – too small to take a tablet or laptop , (€2 per day for the lock with a deposit of €10). • Breakfast – dreadful choice, same every day no variation, lack of fruit and cold plates to pot luke warm food onto, insufficient cutlery and crockery. • Breakfast room – dreary room in a bunker, staff as helpful as they could be under the circumstances. • Hilly location – probably not the best if mobility impaired. • Lounge and bar by reception – what a wasted space, never saw anyone in the bar and the lounge is cold and uninviting. Conclusion The impression was that it is a hotel that is tired and badly needs investment to bring it up to date – some could be done simply whilst others will take more time. Was it OK – just Would we stay there again - No Please feel free to message should you have questions
