RIU Latino – Relaxing Adults-Only Getaway We were a group of moms looking for a relaxing, adults-only vacation, and we found exactly what we were looking for at RIU Latino. 🏨 Hotel & Rooms The resort is beautiful, and the entire property is kept extremely clean. The staff are constantly cleaning, and as other reviews have mentioned, the property is truly spotless. We requested two rooms, each with two queen beds. Those rooms weren't available when we first arrived, but the staff were wonderful about getting us into the correct rooms the following day. We really appreciated how helpful and accommodating they were. Our rooms had beautiful partial ocean views, which were perfect for us. We could see the entrance to the nightclub from our rooms and watch people arriving when it opened at night, but we were never bothered by the noise. Our location gave us a great view without sacrificing the peaceful atmosphere we wanted. 🎶 Entertainment There is always something going on and always something to do. We really enjoyed having so many options without feeling like we had to participate in everything. The layout of the resort is also excellent. The restaurants, lobby, pools, and other common areas are conveniently centralized, making it very easy to get around. 🏖️ Beach The beach is beautiful and was one of our favorite parts of the resort. It was enjoyable for both walking and swimming, and there were plenty of umbrellas available when we wanted to relax. The resort uses tractors to remove seaweed from the beach in the mornings, which did a great job of keeping the beach clean and enjoyable throughout the day. ☕ Morning Coffee This deserves its own section because morning coffee was a highlight for us! The sports bar doubles as a coffee shop in the mornings, so you can grab a latte or cappuccino and sit by the ocean to enjoy it. There really isn't a better way to start the day. 🍳 Food Breakfast Buffet Fantastic! The made-to-order omelets were a definite highlight. We also loved the make-your-own Bloody Mary station. There is a large variety of breakfast options, including gluten-free choices, so everyone in our group was able to find something they enjoyed. À La Carte Restaurants One of the things we really appreciated is that reservations are NOT needed. The restaurants are first-come, first-served. We usually arrived between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. and didn't have to wait. One evening we arrived after 6:00 and there was a wait, so getting there a little earlier definitely helped. There is a good variety of restaurants, and the food was delicious. We especially enjoyed: Kulinarium Milan Steakhouse We did not try Geisha because we were told that they cook with MSG. My only suggestion would be for Geisha to offer a few MSG-free menu options so that more guests can enjoy it. 🏊 Pools I love that all of the pools have different personalities. The best part is that you can spend your time at the pool that matches the vacation vibe you're looking for. We spent most of our time at the quiet pool, which is closest to the water slides, and it had the perfect relaxed atmosphere for our group. There are also pools with completely different vibes, including swim-up bars with a louder, more energetic party atmosphere and areas focused on sports and activities. Even though we were relatively close to one of the swim-up bars, we never heard the music or activities from our pool. That made it easy to enjoy the quieter atmosphere while still having access to everything else the resort offers. 🌟 Staff Shout-Outs The staff really helped make our vacation special. Pool Bar: Calan Thank you to all of you for making our stay even more enjoyable! ⭐ Overall RIU Latino is a beautiful, clean, and extremely well-maintained adults-only resort with excellent staff, great entertainment, a beautiful beach, delicious food, and plenty to do. There are definitely areas of the resort with more of a party atmosphere, but that's actually one of the things we appreciated most. You just need to find the area that matches the vibe you're looking for. For our group of moms looking for a relaxing adults-only getaway, RIU Latino delivered exactly what we wanted. We could relax by the quiet pool, walk on the beach, enjoy morning coffee by the ocean, have a great meal, or join in the entertainment whenever we wanted. It gave us the flexibility to make the vacation as relaxing—or as lively—as we wanted it to be.

Hello, I’d like to say that this is the best resort we’ve ever visited. The food is excellent, the evening entertainment is wonderful, and the poolside contests are great fun. Above all, the staff are smiling, attentive, professional, and friendly. A special thank you to Cesar at the sports bar—he is fast, knowledgeable about drinks, and always serves us with a smile; he is an exemplary employee who loves his job! Not recommended for a honeymoon We stayed 7 nights at RIU Latino for our honeymoon, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. Despite contacting the resort in advance, the advertised honeymoon benefits, including the room upgrade and late check-out, were not provided as expected. The front desk service was also extremely rude, and we were quoted an unexpected US$100 charge for late check-out. Basic room amenities were also missing, and the overall service and resort atmosphere were far below what we expected from RIU. We previously stayed at RIU Punta Cana, which was a completely different experience. Based on our experience, I would not recommend RIU Latino for a honeymoon. There are much better options for such an important trip.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great resort, but know what you’re getting into We stayed at Riu Latino for our honeymoon and overall had a really good experience. 🏨 Hotel & Rooms: The resort is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, and the fridge is always well stocked. If you need anything, you can call the lobby service and make requests, which was very convenient. The entire resort is kept extremely clean — the staff are constantly cleaning, and as other reviews have said, the property is spotless. 🎉 Entertainment: Honestly, this was probably one of the best parts of the resort. There is always something going on and always something to do. The way the resort is laid out is also great, with the restaurants, lobby, pools and other areas conveniently centralized. The water slides are another great bonus. 🏖️ Beach: The beach is beautiful and, during our stay, there wasn’t much seaweed at all. There was always space available, and the staff direct you to available areas. There is also beach service for umbrellas, so finding a spot was never really an issue. My only complaint is that there isn’t a beach bar, so you have to walk a decent distance to get drinks, and the drink service on the beach can be a little slow. 🍽️ Food: The buffet is okay. Nothing bad, but nothing amazing either. We found the à la carte restaurants to be noticeably better quality. If you’re more than two people, be prepared for occasional wait times at the restaurants. The coffee was also surprisingly good. 🏋️ Gym & Pools: The gym is smaller than what I’ve seen at some other resorts. The pools were also quite warm during our stay — warmer than we would have preferred. ⚠️ The main downside: If you’re looking for a very quiet, peaceful honeymoon or a relaxing getaway, this may not be the best choice. We loved the entertainment and energy, but there were definitely moments when we wanted some peace and quiet and it was difficult to find. The atmosphere can get pretty wild, with a lot of people drinking and partying. It’s fun and part of the experience, but sometimes it can also lead to some noise and messiness. Thankfully, the staff do an excellent job cleaning everything up. 🚕 Isla Mujeres tip: If you’re planning to visit Isla Mujeres, I strongly recommend taking an Uber to the ferry and going independently rather than booking an excursion. In our experience, the excursion wasn’t worth it, and we had a particularly bad experience with Nexus, where what was promised to us did not match what we actually received. Overall: Riu Latino is a beautiful, clean and well-maintained resort with excellent staff, great entertainment, a beautiful beach and plenty to do. Just understand that this is a lively, party-oriented resort, not a quiet adults-only retreat. If you want fun, entertainment and a lot of activity, you’ll probably love it. If your priority is peace and relaxation, I’d look elsewhere.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Riu Latino. The hotel, food, atmosphere, and overall vacation experience were great. Unfortunately, on my first night at the hotel, my Ray-Ban sunglasses disappeared. I reported the incident to the hotel and asked management to review the security cameras. I followed up twice and was told that the cameras had been reviewed, but nothing was found and my sunglasses were never recovered. I want to be fair: everything else about my vacation was great. However, I was very disappointed with how this incident was handled. At a resort of this level, I expected better security and a more effective response when a guest’s personal belongings disappeared. I would still recommend the hotel overall, but I strongly advise guests to be very careful with their personal belongings.
