Riu Latino

It won’t let me post the month we went. It was March 2025. This resort is absolutely beautiful and perfect. The grounds are not too big that you have to take some kind of cart to get anywhere. Any of the restaurants that we went to were delicious and we did not have to make any reservations. The buffet always had something different. The various pools provided a spot depending on our moods. There’s party pools and quiet pools. The restaurant in the pool area was also very good and served the basics. We had no issues with the beach and while we were there, they extended the pathway to the beach so you don’t have to walk so much in the sand. Also, there are servers who come down to the beach with a variety of drinks and if you want something specific, they will come back with it. The rooms were perfect. They were clean and had everything we needed along with a very comfortable bed. I can’t say enough about how wonderful the staff is. They are very friendly and very accommodating. Be aware for the foam party and the white party, it is off resort with transportation provided. We always vacation in Cuba but due to what is happening there we did our research and decided on this resort and have absolutely no regrets. So much so that we booked for March 2026. We can’t wait to go back.

Just Returned from a 5 day getaway with my husband at Riu Latino. It was a beautiful property in Costa Mujeres, just north of Cancun. The ride from Cancun airport was about 40 minutes to the resort. Check in was easy and not busy in the lobby. We were greeted with a refreshing mimosa as we were checking in. This resort was very nice, and the grounds were immaculate as all Riu properties. I’ve stayed at over 10 RIU properties and Latino is ranked high on my list especially not being a palace. We had a frontal ocean view suite. The view was amazing. The food was delicious and fresh, I never have complaints about the food at Riu resorts. They have 5 pools and the activities were fun, the beach is a longer stretch than usual but it’s still walking distance as a beachfront. I enjoyed the spa with a really relaxing deep tissue massage by Melba. I loved that is was adult only but I can honesty say it catered to “Younger adult” crowd. We are in our 50’s but it was still a great time. The shows were typical entertainment from RIU. I do highly recommend.

The resort was beautiful, clean and the staff were very friendly. I’d like to especially highlight Nexus Tour staff member Zaira! During the week we were at Riu Latino, the airline we flew with went on strike, therefore causing delayed flights and chaos. Zaira was the calm in the storm. She helped us through this tough and confusing time. Zaira ensured we were taken care of and made sure we had accommodations each night we got stuck. She even helped us with a shuttle bus once we finally had a confirmed flight home. Zaira helped to make the situation a lot less stressful! Because of her amazing customer service and communication skills, I would go back! And I would go back with confidence knowing I would be taken care of. Thank you Zaira !!!

I visited Hotel Riu Latino with my family and we had a fantastic time overall. The service was excellent, the buffet restaurant offered a very good choice of food, and the speciality restaurants were a lovely experience. The facilities were also very well maintained and exceptionally clean. One thing I particularly appreciated was that there were no glasses, cups or signs labelled “tips” around the hotel, as I have seen in other all-inclusive resorts. In some places, this can create the impression that staff prioritise guests who tip. Here, all the staff were consistently friendly, helpful and attentive, without ever making me feel uncomfortable or pressured to give a tip. It made the whole experience feel much more relaxed and genuine. The only real disappointment was the beach, which accumulated more and more sargassum each day. Although a machine comes along in the morning and mixes the sargassum into the sand, the sea itself is not cleared, so getting into the water can be very unpleasant, with sargassum getting tangled around your legs. It is such a shame to see such a beautiful beach affected in this way. Overall, we had a wonderful family holiday and would happily return. I just hope there can be better measures in the future to manage the sargassum and keep the beautiful beach and sea more enjoyable for guests.

If you’re on the fence about booking Riu Latino, BOOK THE TRIP. You will not regret it! 🌴☀️🍹 Our daughter graduated high school in 2025, and instead of having a traditional graduation party, she opted for a family vacation. So, we decided to celebrate with a week in Mexico! My husband (56), myself (49), our son (21), daughter (18), and my BFF (57) stayed April 25–May 2, and we had an absolutely AMAZING time! We stayed in a Family Suite, and it was perfect for our family. Everyone had their own space and privacy, and having two bathrooms was a huge bonus! The room was modern, comfortable, spacious, and had a great view. We came back every day to adorable towel art and a fully stocked bar. My BFF stayed in a frontal sea view room, which was equally beautiful and just as impressive. We’ve stayed at Dreams, Grand Palladium, Moon Palace, and several other all-inclusive resorts throughout Mexico and the Caribbean. Honestly, based on the price point of Riu Latino, I wasn’t expecting much. I was completely and pleasantly BLOWN AWAY! Latino is, hands down, the CLEANEST resort I have ever stayed at. Someone is ALWAYS cleaning something. The grounds, pools, restaurants, common areas everything was spotless. And it wasn’t just the cleanliness. The staff was incredible. Friendly, caring, attentive, and genuinely interested in whether you were having a good time. Everyone was always smiling — even the gardener! You could tell the staff took pride in the resort and truly cared about the guests. 🍽️ FOOD: There is something for everyone, and you definitely will NOT go hungry! We thought the food was very good, with plenty of variety. I have Celiac disease and was especially impressed with how well they handled food allergies. Everything was clearly marked, which made navigating meals so much easier and gave me peace of mind. I had absolutely no issues during our entire stay. 🎉 ATMOSPHERE: We loved the mix of ages at Latino. There were people from around 18 all the way into their 80s, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. There are several pools, each with a different vibe. Want the lively party pool? They have it! Want somewhere quieter to relax? They have that too! We bounced back and forth between the two depending on our mood. The evening entertainment was decent, and the kids enjoyed the club. They also ventured over to the White Party at Dunamar one night. They weren’t gone long before returning and announcing that it was “lame” and full of little kids. (Dunamar is a family resort) 🍹 A HUGE SHOUTOUT TO THE STAFF! Marlene, Brian, and Nelly took such great care of us during our meals. And Wilber and his poolside drink cart deserve a special mention! He kept the drinks coming and made pool days even better. I’m already missing my morning mimosas! 🥂 One of the best parts of the trip was the people we met. We made so many great memories and met some truly wonderful people. We had such an amazing experience that all of us have already rebooked Riu Latino for September to celebrate my 50th birthday! 🎂🍾 We even met another couple on this trip who will be returning to Latino with us in September! How fun is that? It’s pretty awesome when a vacation not only gives you amazing memories, but also new friendships to look forward to continuing! After experiencing several other all-inclusive resorts, I can honestly say Riu Latino exceeded every expectation I had. The cleanliness, staff, rooms, food, pools, atmosphere, and overall experience were all fantastic — especially for the price point. So if you’re considering Latino and wondering if you should pull the trigger… BOOK. THE. TRIP. 🌴☀️🍹
