Riu Ventura

While it wasn't as central as we anticipated, it had good entertainment, access to excursion services and beachfront opportunities.

Service was exceptional! Esthetically pleasing in every space. Exceptionally clean! Smooth check in and check out process. Laundry service was efficient! Entertainment was great!

The food was great and so was the options. Only problem with the food was the poor labels. Labels were incorrect often and the staff could not tell what was in some of the menu options. We had an instance where there was a label of vegetable lasagna. Luckily we asked the staff behind that counter and he said it had beef. I asked a supervisor and he said it had meat when I asked why did it say vegetable he asked the first staff that oversaw that station and his reply was that it was vegetable no meat. A member of our family didn’t eat meat but when she started eating we noticed it actually had meat in it. Could have been really bad if it was an allergy restriction. There is a bar that is meant to have food 24x7, overnight sandwiches are supposedly left in a fridge to grab and go incase you have early morning excretions or late night munchies. We went before our excursion only to see it empty. We asked to borrow a scale to weigh our luggage and got confirmation there was one. It was showed to us and we were told when we are ready bring our luggage down to have them weighed. In the morning before our shuttle arrived we asked to get the luggage weighed only to be told they don’t have one. Seems some people know while others don’t. We also got scammed by an outside vendor from Mercado 28th. Who booked a taxi for our excursion which we paid him in advance. When the taxi dropped us off he says he wasn’t paid. We got the front desk folks involved as we realized we were scammed and wasn’t sure if the taxi driver was part of the scam. Jade the supervisor was called and her response was “just pay him, this has nothing to do with the hotel so you can deal with it”. Understood this had nothing to do with the hotel however someone at the front of the hotel told us this was our car and was part of the coordination, also we don’t speak Spanish and would have been a better experience to at minimum help us understand the situation. We ended up having to call the police. The entertainment could have been better. The staff in general amazing. The resort entertainment however the options were clearly pushing for adults only and not featured at the hotel. You would need to shuttle to the riu caribe hotel about 20 min away where they had adults only entertainment each day. The entertainment at the hotel was meh. Would I come back to this resort? I’m not sure. If there was an amazing deal then maybe but I would probably try other options if I returned to Mexico.

Stayed in February for 28 nights and did not want to leave, The Hotel is in a Excellent Location right on the Beach and also a bus stop right outside to take you up to the Hotel Zone, shops, Walmart and ferry port for Isla Majures. The Hotel had a great layout for the footprint of which it has been built on with restaurants all in a row pools next to the beach and a rooftop adults pool. The adults pool and bar was relatively quiet and chilled and the swim up pool was lively and buzzing the other 3 pools seemed to be one general allrounder one activity pool and one more quiet all with good shades and umbrellas there was also a splash pad with pirates ship for the kids. We stayed in room 1231 which is a suite, it was a very spacious room on the corner so got both the sunrises and sunsets, had a bath separate toilet a separate shower and the tv was on a island sideboard that spun round either to face the bed or the lounge area. Food was excellent in all the restaurants including the buffet and we ate in all of them a couple of times each in our stay, the poolside snack bar was also very good but we preferred to get there when it opened as it did get busy. Entertainment team were great especially Johnny he is brilliant at his job and an asset to the Riu chain. All the staff were amazing always smiling and worked very hard to keep us all happy, The staff on the front desk could not be more helpful no matter our query request information or advice even down to getting us soya milk to our room for coffees in the morning it was dealt with. Thank you.

A fantastic 2 weeks in a brilliant setting. The RIU Ventura is a fantasic new addition to the RIU resort family and I would highly recommend
