Enotel Golf Santo de Serra

A wonderful, welcoming, beautiful hotel. The hotel is surrounded by the most marvellous grounds. Stunning plants and trees. The fruit and vegetable gardens are huge. Lots of animals in the grounds who are clearly very loved and well cared for. We had a great welcome at the hotel, where we stayed for 11 nights. The staff are fantastic, helpful, efficient and kind. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was great and was so well looked after during our stay. Spotlessly clean and with everything in it we could want. The housekeeping staff were very efficient and nice. Food was excellent. We had breakfast and dinner daily and there was a large choice of delicious dishes. Some items came from the hotels own vegetable gardens. Again, the staff in the restaurant/bars were brilliant. There was always staff on reception who were helpful and knowledgeable. All in all a wonderful stay at the Enotel Santo da Serra.

Perfect to explore the island if you play golf and want to avoid the crowds. The room is not huge, but has everything needed. The staff is super friendly! The breakfast is very nice for the standard of the hotel! I would definitely come back!

Pros: The concept of the hotel makes it a nice place to explore - surrounded by gardens with farm animals and amazing nature. Perfect place for 2-3 days. Friendly stuff. Nice cosy rooms. Hotel is pretty clean. Good spa included in your stay. Cons: poor sound isolation, food is okay but limited selection. Buffet restaurant gives rather canteen vibes. Also it’s pretty cold inside the hotel and humidity makes it worse so be prepared.

I was there for 2 weeks and Enotel Santo De Serra has one rude staff member. It was enjoyable the rooms were clean, good facilities BUT this one worker called Bumherto or something had the cheek to call me and my colleagues names in Portuguese when he was checking restaurant for availability, unknowingly to him one of us if fluent in Portuguese. Overall I am very disappointed in this experience as the hotel is nice.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights as part of a walking holiday with Headwater. It is a beautiful, quiet hotel near the centre of the small village which had a supermarket as well as some other bars, shops etc. The room was a little basic but adequate for our needs as we were walking each day. My only complaint was that there was a door stop behind the toilet door right in front of the loo meaning it was easy to stub your toe. We had to place a towel over it to stop this happening. The staff are all really friendly and can't do enough to help. Breakfast and evening meal was included which was a tasty buffet with plenty of choice and good quality. The main building had a bar and beautiful swimming pool which included a steam room and Sauna. We were also provided dressing gowns in the room for use around the hotel. We were provided with a pack lunch one day but unfortunately found the sandwiches too dry made with thick brown homemade bread so did not eat them. A same really as all the other foods were excellent
