The Reserve

My wife and I had a delightful stay at The Reserve hotel in Funchal Madeira. ChatGTP had suggested this hotel which we had never heard of. We stayed in a corner room which gave us two large balconies spanning the south coast of the island. The hotel outdoor breakfast service was on the 16th floor (just above us) and included in our room rate. The service was excellent with our server remembering what we liked as the week went on. The butler service and WhatsApp instant contact was unique. We were greeted at the airport and when we departed they escorted us to a small private lounge at the airport. And, the help we received with arranging all of our activities was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to splurge on Madeira.

Out of this world service and experience. The staff was more than hospitable and delivered on our every need.

The hotel was exactly what we hoped for when we booked. Great location, beautiful views and wonderful staff. Definitely coming back to the Reserve when we make our way back to Madeira

Very good service! Thanks to the whole team!

We considered another famous hotel close by, but decided to give The Reserve a chance. It has been a wonderful week. High class service with experienced staff. Very private and relaxed atmosphere. Room of high quality. Cleaning at a level we haven’t seen anywhere else. The view from the roof top pool is extraordinary. Been at a number of hikes. A true 5 star hotel that understands that you do not charge for water, parking or need fight for chairs or attention from staff. Beautiful scenery around the island. It is a must to start your hikes no later than 9.30 as parking is a nightmare after 10. We had a car, choose a small car, roads a very narrow and parking generally a nightmare. Check for cruise ships before you go to botanic garden and the cable car. Quality of food is generally ok, but still some way to France, Italy and parts of Spain. But prices are accordingly.
