I would like to start by mentioning that this review reflects our personal perspective as a family with two children who travel extensively and, importantly, as professionals working in the service industry ourselves. Here is a detailed breakdown of our one-week stay during the ski season: 1. ACCOMMODATION We chose a two-bedroom apartment with a private sauna. The unit was very spacious and beautifully furnished. The only minor downside is the single toilet, which can be a challenge for a family of four. However, the cleaning services were very disappointing. The bed linens were not changed once during our entire stay, and the floors were cleaned only once. We actually had to go to a local grocery store to buy disinfectant and cloths to clean the place ourselves. 2. FOOD The food quality ranged from average to poor. Given that the hotel has its own farm, we expected more homegrown products, especially fresh yogurt. The meals are cooked in a traditional Austrian style—extremely salty and the meat is often "drowned" in heavy sauces. To their credit, the staff was helpful if we specifically asked for less salt or for the sauce to be served on the side. A first for us was the "extra fee" policy. One evening, we had to choose between three main courses, but the beef option came with a €20 surcharge. We ordered beef for our children as well, and although the staff confirmed they would serve "child-sized portions," we were charged the full €20 fee per child. Essentially, for one adult portion of beef, we were billed twice. This was very unpleasant. Additionally, please note that packing a sandwich for the slopes from the breakfast buffet incurs an extra cost. We only discovered this towards the end of our stay via a small sign. No one mentioned it, but upon checkout, we proactively asked to be charged €20 for the extra food we had taken. 3. SPA AND POOL FACILITIES The pool was a deciding factor for us when booking, as we don't ski on foggy or heavy snow days. The hotel has a lovely heated outdoor pool and a very small indoor pool (about 4sqm). However, a CRITICAL DETAIL is missing from their website and Booking.com: the outdoor pool is only open from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM daily. If you return from the slopes at 5:45 PM, as we did, you have no chance to use it. After we pleaded, they allowed us to stay until 6:30 PM once, but then we were asked to leave. On a day with bad weather, we actually had to go elsewhere to find a proper Spa for the kids because the facilities here were closed. 4. EXTRA SERVICES The hotel has a games room (ping-pong, darts, billiards), but all are subject to extra charges. There is one interactive game table that is free to use, but it was so dirty that the touch-screen barely functioned. When we asked a staff member to wipe it, she seemed surprised and didn't initially understand the request. I regret not taking a photo of the grime on that table. A simple spray and a cloth left there for guests would have made a huge difference. CONCLUSION If you are looking for quality service and a location that isn't solely focused on extra charges, I recommend looking elsewhere. For us, the price difference between this hotel and Tauern Spa (where we have stayed before) was only €400, and there is simply no comparison in terms of facilities and quality. We wanted an "authentic" experience this year, but it fell far short of our expectations. One final observation: guests are treated differently based on the language they speak. Although we were the type of guests who left tips for the staff and the room cleaners, and proactively paid for extra food, it didn't seem to matter. Upon checkout, we weren't even asked how our stay was or if we enjoyed the experience. Meanwhile, German-speaking guests were treated with much more interest. A real shame.

One of the best place we have ever been. The house is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The surrounding is marvelous. The staff is friendly and the owners are always around to take care of everything. The breakfast and the dinner are tasty and abs enough. There is always options for the kids like french fries and “schnitzel”, pasta etc. There is playing rooms and wellness. The wellness is a real wellness not just a cabin at the basement. It is a relevant part of the house with a beautiful location. You can see the surroundings from the sauna, can go outside the balcony, rooms where you can have rest after having a sauna, or steam or infra sauna. The only problem we had during our trip was that we had to come home and leave this Austrian heaven. Thanks for this couple of days and we are coming back for sure soon.
